As someone who does martial arts, unless you have been in a lot of fights and have intentionally trained your twitch flight flexes out from spazzing when you get hit* hard in the face, you will probably lose against even a bad fighter. It's scary once you realize the between even a little training and a normal untrained person.

You wouldn't have to fight Samwise, but obviously if you did, he would gut you like a giant spider. As would any of the main hobbits. Remember, they invented golf by knocking the head off a goblin and sending it 100 yards, and they thought nothing of fighting a Nazgul. Super easy, barely an inconvenience. Hobbits are insanely dangerous by human standards. This is like seeing that graph of what animals people think they could beat up in a fight with natural weapons and people think they can fight bears, lions and elephants. Or even geese. Who thinks they can take a goose? Other than a French gavage practitioner.

Wait am I missing something critical or is a goose like a very winnable fight? They have hollow bones, a bite force that barely breaks skin let alone severe lacerations, and their best offense is beating you with their wings which is like getting punched at worst. The only reason geese ever hurt people more than they get hurt is because the individuals involved are trying to avoid confrontation, not attack the goose. If the human is trying I'd put my money on almost literally any adult over any goose.

Disagree on Rebecca from Cyberpunk:Edgerunners, she should be in "They win fight" at least. She's experienced merc and won't go down in few shots thanks to her cyberware. If he would even hit her. She's small petite women, so even smaller target to aim and her big metal arms, give her additional armor, meanwhile, she's got good aim and would have no problems shooting him first. Edit: If Ellie from Last of US 2 kills him, then Rebecca has even easier time.

Lightsabers *can* block/melt bullets. The Mandalorians would fight Jedis using shotguns because they couldn't block *all* the buckshot at once.

iirc, and don't quote me on this because it's purely just from memory, that guns in general were effective against lightsabers due to the fact that while they can MELT the bullets, the molten metal will still continue flying at them. The reason that shotguns specifically were uses is moreso because it's harder for a jedi to dodge two dozen molten metal balls flying at high speeds than it is to dodge one.

I have, just, so many objections to at least 80% of the characters here. They're way, way more ridiculous than Daniel has any conception of. Speed in particular tends to be pretty unintuitive. Now, I was listening to this at work and I'm not going to rewatch to take notes, but I'll mention a few things that stood out. The baseline level of Speed in Star Wars is that non-Force users (albeit trained fighter pilots) can pretty comftorably move at about 1% of light speed, or more than 9000x faster than your glock bullets. Particularly gifted non-Force users like Han Solo can hit 10% of light speed, and top tier Force users like Vader have hit 25½x light speed. Jedi younglings are still pretty slow by those standards, but even so from their perspective pistol rounds would only be a few times faster than a snail from ours even before factoring in their precog. Also, the effectiveness of bullets against lightsabers is pretty inconsistent, but the safe understanding is that it varies greatly based on the speed and vapourization energy of the projectile. A particularly fast (by Star Wars standards, so basically light speed) and durable (as in many materials in Star Wars need the equivalent of a small nuke just to dent them) bullet such as from a Verpine shattergun might pass through a lightsaber blade intact enough to kill, but a bullet as weak and slow as, say, a modern artillery shell, would be completely vaped despite its size. Avatar is another surprisingly fast setting. I don't have good numbers for Azula or Aang specifically, but I can point to Zuko moving his arms at half the speed of lightbing during the Agni Kai, and early season 2 Korra (ie still a complete Airbending novice) reacting to a point blank Mach 6 gas explosion with a reflexive air barrier as some useful benchmarks for why mere bullets are beneath their notice. Harry Potter is a cop (which training would include dealing with Statute of Secrecy violations occasionally involving firearms) and an experienced combatant and combat instructor who is also extremely accustomed to performing hairpin aerial maneuvers at 150 mph. I mean, you've still got a chance, but treating him like a random 11 year old is the height of arrogance. Hoid is really interesting because he can't really harm others without dire consequences, which is a huge factor that I was dismayed to hear completely ignored. But he's more than fast and durable enough that your bullets would be wasted and from there he can play keep-away until you collapse from exhaustion or surrender. Vimes is fast enough to cross Ankh-Morpork in minutes in the middle of rush hour. Even if that involved the entire Watch helping him out and several carriages, it's still very much superhuman no matter how you shake it, albeit not to anywhere near the same degree as Jedi or Benders, so you'd still have a chance. Just, definitely don't underestimate him. Sam and Gollum are tricky because they're able to vaguely hang with supersonic characters like Legolas and Shelob. Also, they're a lot smaller than most opponents. Again, you've still got a chance, but let's give them the respect they're due. Chopper... even on Drum Island was as strong as a small nuke and several times faster than your bullets. More recently, well, he straight up dodged Queen's laser at about 1.56x light speed.

Mat's true - 'built in Luck factor' - is actually in - *_Gambling._* His combat luck is in his _Ta'veren_ nature, just like both Rand and Perrin have. So the thing with Edward Cullen is that Stephanie Meyer made her vampires completely invincible to anything but other vampires in her world and the werewolves (and that's only because they're strong enough to bite the vampire's heads off..... and it still takes fire to keep them dead. Their parts put themselves back together otherwise). They're bulletproof as in a bullet couldn't penetrate them. They're basically made of stone but not brittle. And yeah, probably faster than bullets. Anyone can be as mad as they want about it, but *nobody* is beating Twilight vampires in a fight without fire. However, Edward is a huge loser and would be too busy hating himself to engage at all Also I could totally take Van Helsing's Dracula........ probably not in a fight though.
