Which first: Draw trumps or start setting up side suit? - with Jack Stocken

We often have to decide whether we should draw trumps first or if there is something better to do first. What would you do with this hand?
Dummy: ♠Q532 ♥JT932 ♦92 ♣A4
Declarer: ♠AKJ6 ♥K64 ♦AT ♣KQ32
Contract: 4♠
West's lead: ♠7
First, let's count our losers... Next, let's look for ways we might get rid of one or more... But how to weight the risks of trying setting up a side suit early so we can get rid of a loser if it means we havne't yet drawn out the trumps and could risk getting ruffed?

IF West had led a D, and IF you had found trump had broken badly on the second round (4-1), it would be dangerous to continue drawing trump. Do you switch plans and begin setting up the Hearts? You are in the South hand - how should you continue? Alternatively you might try running 3 rounds of Clubs to sluff your Diamond loser, hoping Clubs split 4-3.

Why would opponents lead spades (Trump)?

West didn’t have a sequence and couldn’t ‘under-lead’ his ♥Ace/Queen, so a trump lead is ok, because that is one way of reducing ruffs in Dummy. Here it didn’t really help, as trumps split 4:4 - but had trumps split 5:3, then the two small trumps in Dummy could have got an additional trick or two, in which case leading a trump would reduce one ruff in Dummy - i.e. one trick at least for Declarer (provided he could ruff in Dummy - which wasn't the case here.) But, leads are blind, so there was no way West could know the trump distribution or get any other information.
