Have a 2016 Edge SEL with a bit over 75K on it. It's been a great car and rides nice. Moved here from the Chicago area and was able to load it up and still get decent mileage. One thing I think is that Ford needs to update the dash and get rid of all of the hard plastic. Enjoy all of your videos and wish you the best. Hope you & your wife had a great 4th of July!

I went with the 2019 Ford Flex SEL 202A with Appearance Package. Traded in my 2012 Hyundai Genesis Sedan for it and got $6,000 for it. Not bad for it being a Hyundai with 86k+ miles😁 as for the flex i bought it on 6/28/19 Brand New with 226 miles on the odometer, dont care about depreciation as i plan on keeping this Ride for a long time. My family and i are Loving It! It meets all our needs. Im gonna baby the hell out of it 😁. Love the videos you do keep on moving forward 😎👊

@@joseluisruiz3789 Ok those 3.5 engines have a internal chain driven water pump. I know its new, but I woulr recommend changing the coolant every 30k miles and same with transmission fluid. If the water pump fails in those 3.5s, the coolant dumps into the oil and mixes and in result damages the engine. Other than that the 3.5 are a beast. I have the 3.5 in my 2013 ford edge. I would recommend you join the FB page "MACTFORDEDGE" It is very informative on the 3.5 engine

After test driving several brands and models of SUVs a few months back. I think the Ford interiors are designed well and have continued to improve. Not everthing can be made of soft material. Not everyone can be pleased, especially if you don't like the brand. The hard materials are used for longevity, manufacturing costs, plus it's more expensive to the consumer adding leather to consoles. If it's under my butt. Use soft materials, in my case leather. If it's where I place my drink cup. I want stability, easy cleaning and a material that lasts. My Edge Sport has fantastic heated,/cooled leather and alcaterra. Maybe we need heated/cooled Soft door panels. Leather wrapped buttons. How old was your Escape? I also own a 2018 Escape Titanium Awd. Other than my console. Most everything else is soft and if it's not, I guess it's not a big enough issue to focus my attention. Read Bob Lutz interview. GM is the automotive company that has design issues for exterior disasters to unthought out interiors. Ford has stepped it up. Take a look at the new Lincoln Aviator or the upcoming redesigned Explorer. They're amazing interiors. Share with us the best interiors currently available. Just curious.

After test driving both vehicles along with several other brands of Suvs when looking for a replacement for my wife's Honda sedan in 2018. We narrowed down our selection to both of these vehicles. She purchased a new Awd Edge Sport over the Explorer. Our Reasons were. We felt the Edge was more sportier inside and out with the optional 21" rims and the full glass panel roof. I think it's a very attractive, sporty package. You set high, but entrance and exit is more car like. It drives and rode more car like compaired to the Explorer. It's size fit her needs holding five passengers with a nice amount of rear cargo space. The Edge Sport's performance adds a special drivers feel. It's quick for a 4400 lb SUV. Technology is fantastic in both vehicles. We felt we didn't need the extra seating or space the Explorer offered. After nearly a year of ownership. My wife loves her Edge Sport. Her first Ford, but considering all the models and brands she test drove. Ford did a great job with the Edge. A week later. I purchased a new Escape Titanium Awd for my daily driver. Now we own three Fords. Ford may have dropped their sedans, but they certainly know how to build Suvs and trucks. I know both vehicles have had changes since purchasing the Sport with the Explorer getting a complete redesign and chassis and the Edge more cosmetic with the ST replacing the Sport. I'm looking forward test driving the 2020 Explorer, but being empty nester's. The Edge ST would still be the size of SUV we would purchase. Thanks for the nice informative video. Great job.

I prefer cars over SUV's. I'd buy a truck before I'd buy an SUV. Being a die hard Ford guy, when it comes time to replace my Fiesta ST, its likely not gonna end up being a Ford I replace it with...Ford just doesn't wanna build cars any more, so they are losing my new car business.

Sorry, Joe. This video crosses the line from a review to an infomercial for your local Ford dealer. Of course Walker Ford (and every other Ford dealer) is willing to make killer deals on the last generation Explorer in order to get them off the lot and lessen the sticker shock when customers come in to take a look at the new generation 2020 Explorer, a model with an MSRP close to $50,000 or so for even a modestly optioned lowest trim (XLT) model with AWD. Moving up the ladder to even the second lowest trim puts the price at over $50K and getting a V6 moves the needle up to the mid-$50K MSRP or more. That's a price point well over the top trims of rivals from other manufacturers. It's notable, by the way, that the Ford "build and price" internet tool no longer even includes the 2019 Explorer. Apparently Ford is in no hurry to make the significant price increases for 2020 obvious. I'm a fan of four cylinder turbo engines. I've been driving such vehicles since the 1980's (Saabs) and I have a 2.0L turbocharged GTI in my garage right now. But there's a reason that practically every other brand offers a standard of optional naturally aspirated V6 competing with the Edge and the Explorer. The Ecoboost 2.3L four banger in the base version Mustang and the 2.0L turbo in the 2019 Escape are fine engines in vehicles that weigh significantly less than 4000 lbs. But physics is physics and moving vehicles weighing well over two tons with a small turbo engine inevitably raises questions of durability and reliability. What does Ford offer? The only V6's available in either vehicle are the NA engine in the hybrid Explorer and the turbocharged V6's for the Edge ST and the top trim Explorers with MSRP's close to $60,000. All of this may be academic for bargain hunters shopping at dealers willing to offer huge discounts on their vehicles. (I was offered a fully loaded Edge Sport, the predecessor of the Edge ST, for $8000 under MSRP, for example.) But shoppers should remember that dealers don't offer those discounts out of the goodness of their hearts. Ford is offering less for more than rivals.
