I use prodiamine in spring. Follow up with dimension 2 weeks after. celsius and certainty mix in spring/summer. And split application of spec flo in fall. I have 0 weeds in my lawn all year round. Works well for me so far. Its a bermuda lawn and i plugged the entire lawn because it was dirt and weeds 2 years ago. I'm not a chemical expert all, i just do basic lawncare for a living but will definitely check out your course online and thank you for your info and videos. Love seeing you grow more and more

Jason, last year you swapped from using atrazine and triplet sf to Manor and Change-up. I’m curious as to why you swapped back to atrazine and Triplet SF? Thanks!
@lawncarelife11 ай бұрын
I was disappointed with the results. I like change up and manor a lot but I think you would have to use the higher rates to get control on the tough weeds like Oxalis in January. I use those products a lot during the Spring and Summer and get good control but it did not work out so well in January

Need an important question answered I've been wondering for a while... When mixing different herbicides together in a tank, do you still go by the rate of the individual labels? Or less of each. Thanks!

I still go by the rate of the individual labels

Are there any issues using Atrazine on Bermuda grass?
@matthiggins965111 ай бұрын
If it’s dormant, no. Personally, I don’t see much benefit using atrazine in winter/ early spring for broadleaf weeds as Jason suggested. Triclopyr and/or MSM will give a much broader and effective results.

So are you saying you're using dismiss as a pre em for sedges?
@lawncarelife11 ай бұрын
I was thinking about it but I I'm a little concerned about the turf burn. I no longer plan to do that

You’ve used Specticle Flo in April, how were the results with Doveweed? Have you thought about using Specticle Flo as the primary pre for crabgrass, so dropping the Prodiamine and doing a split Specticle app instead ?

Im real glad you are doing this test. I have considered skipping the Speedzone red in round 1, and only spraying the Prodiamine, and spot spray existing weeds to save $$. My fear is that there could be a lot of tiny weeds germinated that I cant see when doing application 1. IF they are there, there would be a bunch of weeds as I go into round 2. So I have taken the precautionary measure to mix the speedzone red with the prodiamine for round 1 to have a bit of insurance. Looking forward to seeing how this pans out. Thanks Jason!

I haven't personally used Avenue south. I know it's a popular product for St Augustine grass. I don't deal with much St Augustine in my area

Followed your advice and celceus works great on the nutsedge! Thanks!
@lawncarelife11 ай бұрын
That's great. Celsius is probably better on kyllinga. For nutsedge certainly or proceeds would probably be a better option

Jason why dont you use barricade for crabgrass?
@qsbroom11 ай бұрын
Hey Jason, Really enjoy your videos .. they have proven to be very helpful. Question... I heavily overseeded my backyard this past September with Jonathan Greene fescue, before I did it I killed off most of the weeds, the yard looks great right now, should I skip pre emergent this spring? I do not want to hurt the grass that is up and doing well.. Thanks

I've done Dismiss in Round 2 in the past. For me, here in Atlanta, it wreaks havoc on Zoysia even at half rate, so i shy away from it nowadays. In my experiences... the sedges still emerged but yellowed out very quickly. Still required followup treatments later in the season. Don't use it with Dimension, the combo made a mess of my tank. Lastly, sulfentrazone is known as a "pusher," so I treated it as my sticker and saw far less yellowing on the turf. This year I'm going the Specticle approach. I did 9oz between fall split apps and I'll go 3oz this round and follow up on Round 2 with another 3oz, keeping below that 18oz in a year mark. I'm curious to see the results. I'm perfectly satisfied treating sedge and kyllinga with celsius/certainty combo through a battery back back sprayer. Great video! I'll be staying tuned for your results.
@lawncarelife11 ай бұрын
Thank you for that information. That might have just changed my mind on my approach. I might stick with the same approach I did last year. I have been using specticle in the spring and been very happy with the results

I like your podcast, but you mostly talk about bermuda grass. I live in ft lauderdale, fl where there is mostly st Augustine grass. What products do you recommend for winter applications to st Augustine grass
@rbljackson11 ай бұрын
Jason....i dont have a lot of experience with Dismiss, but Im wondering if it would be better to add dismiss at a 4 oz rate to three different applications instead of hammering out the whole 12 at once. Hard to say.....its possible the dismiss may delay the green up in spring too. Those nutlets in the sedges are so hard to kill. Ive sprayed sedges and burn them down, and then they come back again in a few months....uggg.
