I use the Avene Bakuchoil serum in the morning and prescription retinol 3x a week at night from Agency. Since adding the Bakuchoil, I’ve backed the strength down of the retinol and I’m finding I have better results. The Bakuchoil seems to give my skin a finer and firmer texture immediately.

This is fascinating! I'm so happy to hear you speak about the inkey list product. I'm on my third tube of it. For the past 4 years I've tried out many retinols, two types of retinaldehyde, adapalene, and tretinoin 0.025%. I have oily, acne-prone, sensitive skin even at age 46. Nothing worked better than tretinoin for me for my acne and oiliness, and my skin hated retinol the most. Adapalene was okay I used it for a year every other day, but my skin can only tolerate tretinoin every third day. I'm still getting better anti-aging results and anti acne with tret. I use the inkey list bakuchiol as a serum on the other nights. In my opinion they mislabeled and mispackaged that product. They should have called it a serum and put it in a bottle, because a pea size amount is all you need to get good results. I layer it over my toner and serums. The thing is I really don't feel that the bakuchiol is as effective as tret or differin for anti acne. However, it really smooths my fine lines and reduced hyperpigmentation so I just won't be without either one of them now

@jasminem3902 Жыл бұрын
@@eileenarmas4150 I'm all late but I absolutely would not . I use this same product but I would not use any kind of exfoliant at the same time. I would use an exfoliant on a different day that I'm not using this product and once a week max.... otherwise I feel I'd be setting myself up for issues unnecessarily.
I like PC but find that I get some peeling effect. Meaning I wake up with skin rolling off in small balls. Not pain or irritation just Very odd

So you asked to hear about other bakuchiol products people use, and I wanted to share one I love: The Clarity Oil from indie brand Mila. You are the Budget Dermatologist, so I almost hesitate to bring it up, because it is $120. But I LOVE this formula and the brand's story. The husband and wife team uses a blend of more uncommon oils (cucumber, milk thistle, hemp, meadowfoam, and others) in addition to bakuchiol, ATIP vitamin C (an almost indistinguishable analog of tetrahexadecyl ascorbate), calendula, bisabolol, vitamin E, and many other amazing soothing and antioxidant ingredients. No fragrance. They grow a large percentage of the extracts they use, harness sustainable practices in packaging and cultivation, and give back to their community. We have personally corresponded since my purchase and they are so lovely. They even have a mini ampoule you can buy that comes with a discount code that basically offsets the mini's purchase if you later decide you want the full-size version. I'm such a fan if you can't tell; it's by far the best face oil blend I've ever used and I've been disappointed by plenty. :)

I know of 2 eye creams that indicate Bakuchiol Percentage, both 0.5% and available on A, at least in the US. They're both K Beauty. I haven't tried either of them yet.. but the reviews are very encouraging! First is the Meebak Cica and Bakuchiol eye cream. This one has Caffeine, so probably a good one to use in the morning! The other one is by HaruHaru, Wonder Black Rice Bakuchiol Eye Cream. Saw a kbeauty influencer rave about this one, but it has Niacinamide.. so if you're sensitive, be careful please. I can't imagine how uncomfortable that would be. I hope this helps someone!! Good luck on your skincare journey! ✨️ 🥰

I love learning from your KZbin Channel and love discovering new products! After experimenting, I've discovered I have very sensitive skin on my neck so I had to get creative. Therefore, I'm using a combo of Retinol/RetinAL & Bakuchiol products to avoid irritation. For my morning routine, like you, I do still use Tula Bakuchiol Eye Cream over my Vitamin C serum & then the Tula Wrinkle Treatment Drops with Bakuchiol on my face/neck. At night, I use Avene RetrinAL 0.1 Intensive Cream on my face but on my neck I must use something gentler like Olay Retinol MAX 24 or Versed Press Restart Gentle Retinol. These combos seem to combat redness and severe irritation that I'd rather live without since it took almost 1 month to completely heal. Not fun! but so thankful for your product advice.

I have very sensitive skin and never used retinol because of that (I have rosacea). But, I recently came across a retinol for sensitive skin and saw no issues with it AT ALL. I was floored. I love it too! I use it on my upper third (eyebrow, forehead and nose) instead of tretinoin. I only put the tret on my lower 2/3s. No irritation and I can see the lines on my forehead diminished in just 3 weeks of using it. I will probably eventually build up to putting tret on my entire face over the months to come, just to make things simpler. I don't actually put the eye cream within my orbital region, since I don't want dry eye from any of it possibly getting into my eyes overnight. For me it's just treating this thinner skin more gently easing into retinoids.

This is SUPER helpful, thanks! I've been using Paula's 1% retinol, but I think it's a bit much for my skin and I'll try the combination bakuchiol and lower percentage retinol instead, and add in a bakuchiol alone in the a.m. for the added benefits, just as you mentioned. I was one of the people who bought the Herbivore bakuchiol (that was the word they used to advertise the product) and gave up when it didn't do anything despite an over $50.00 price tag. They really have a responsibility to do their own product testing and know what they're selling. I am oily, so the Inkey List product with the lighter texture would be perfect, and very affordable. I appreciate the info. about the Acure product below; the ingredients check out w/Paula's choice ingredient dictionary as supportive of the skin barrier and moisturizing. Thanks for that suggestion!

I love the Burt's Bees bakuchiol moisturizing cream for Winter. It's a nice thick cream that dissolves into the skin nicely, plus it's quite inexpensive. I layer it both before and after my tretinoin every other night. The other nights I skip the tretinoin and just use the bakuchiol. The other day I was getting a badge made for work and the man taking the photo said, "Ok, I have to ask you. This says you were born in X year. That can't be true!" I laughed and confirmed that it was. People in general are always surprised when they find out I retired 5 years ago (and recently decided to return to work). I attribute it to sun protection since my teens, good sleep habits, drinking lots of water, red light therapy masks 2-3 times a week, every other night tret at strength .025% (lowest I could get), and bakuchiol regularly for about a year now. (Plus I'm on HRT, which really helps slow down the loss of collagen and bone.) I have a few other things in my routine now and then, but this is all that's consistent and what I think makes the greatest difference. About to try microneedling soon.

I'm loving the results and my skin is improving. My main concerns are wrinkle prevention (I'm 28) managing blackheads and whiteheads, reducing pores, and reducing discoloration/acne scarring. There is a cheap option, Pacifica's 'Clean Shot- Retinoid & Bakuchiol 3% in Seawater'. It's around $15 or so for 0.8 floz. I use it at night with Mad Hippie's Vitamin C serum! Tempted to upgrade to Paula's choice in the future once I run out. I tried Burt's Bees Bakuchiol serum, and I didn't like the hard plastic applicator it came with. It felt nice but not as good as pacifica's imo. It was a pretty bottle though design-wise. Edit: Herbivore had a bakuchiol serum that only irritated my skin. It was awfullll. And then there was the whole drama with them actually having less% of bakuchiol than advertized. Wasn't good
