i suggest you seek advise from the geology department.. a specialist would come advise you accordingly whether bore hole or a well would be advisable.. plus a geologist will be able to advise what location on your farm rather land would be appropriate....because you gotta put inconsideration where you sewer system is gonna be as well. so seek expert advise from the government geologist and then based on his finding you can now consult relevant persons for either bore hole or well

My husband grew up on well water to in Savannah GA, he watched his father do their's back in the 50's as a child.his father built their house from the ground up with all 12 children helping, back then they had to straighten out nails and reuse them. How convenient it is today to just go to Lowe's or home depot to get them now. He said once you get to the sand you will not be far from hitting the well water.

From my experience. Borehole is always better than WELL because water from borehole is purer and has more volume of water when sited in a good spot. The disadvantage of borehole over WELL is that if there's no electricity supply you can't pump. But the way out is get an electric generatoror or solarsystem. But with WELL you can get water buy using a fetching bucket with rope manually. Borehole is usually more expensive

BAG family please do both bore hole and well the property is large enough to use them for irrigation, indoor plumbing and the long haul. Get a geologist from the government or the local university/college to review if you can. Religious infusion in conversation is same playbook in the West when emphasizing a point. The BAGing journey is healing the land and giving fruits to the community!✌❤✊

Man that's beautiful sweet daddy very informative. I was wondering what really is a bore hole? Over here in Texas they drill your hole then put a little pump house or a shed on top then that pumps the water to your house. So what does the bore hole consist of, is that where you have the tank on the stand does the pump get it out of the ground or pump it to where you want the water? Maybe if you could do a part 2 to explain the components of each system that would help. I know how it works over here but how does that relate to what they're doing over there? Thx!
@Dan13Speed4 жыл бұрын
My father commissioned Davis and Shattliff Drilling to dig a borehole at our home in 1984. They dug over 300 meters and put steel casing to protect the borehole from collapse. The water had natural chlorine and we used it for domestic as well as irrigation. In 1986 it cost my father 1.5 million KES today it would cost 10 times more. My advice is get a water expert to do a survey before you dig. Many people have dug boreholes and Wells and ended up dry. Others have burst into high pressured underwater lakes that explode with fountains of high pressured water. In some places they have struck oil or gas in shallow bore holes. Please get an expert to do a survey before you dig as this is Africa and God blessed us with many things under the ground. The difference between a well and a bore hole is the depth. If you are going to dig beyond 50 meters it is easier and cheaper to dig a bore hole. All the best in your endeavors.

Hey I need more information from you please
@Dan13Speed2 жыл бұрын
@@annkamau2760 Hi there. I would seriously consider conservation rather than drilling boreholes. They are not cheap these days. Will run you millions. Unless you have a commercial building or a sizable farm, it's not worth drilling a borehole in 2022. You can do far much more with your money if you conserve water, build storage tanks and trap rain water from your roof system. The kitchen is one place where a lot of water gets wasted. Create awareness with everyone using the kitchen sink, not to waste water. Washing dishes after dinner can easily take 150 -300 litres having the sink water running for 30 -40 minutes or longer on full blast. This is a huge waste of water to wash a few utensils, plates, pots and pans. We can all do better once we become conscious about how much water we waste. All the Best. God Bless.

Haven’t watched the video yet...but according to what i have learned through past research, well water is naturally filtered by the rocks as it passes through and has more minerals, which water should contain. Water should also have a neutral ph and should not be too acidic. Borehole seems to have man made filtration system so i would say well water is better. I want to add too tht idk alot about the borehole so i am not sure if its deep enough below ground to get proper filtration, but i have researched well water before.

Can you make a video on exactly all materials that is needed maybe those who want to copy your great process so we can prepare to buy everything in put in a shipping container before we make that move. For example: generator, shovels, lawn mower, saws, plows water-hoes, solar cells, underground water catchment systems. I can’t wait to see your *tropical fruit forest* 🙂

I am not an expert on this by any means, but you are very close to the ocean and that makes your well suseptable to salt water contamination. By the time you reach water level it will be difficult to keep the salt water out. My property in Bijilo has a well and even that has to be filtered. A borehole will get to the fresh water table and allow you to get fresh water almost contaminant free, ant that is what you need. For those who suggest learning the language. How long do you think it takes to learn Wolof, Mandinka or Fulha? Even children bork there tAKE 4 to 7 years to learn their tribal language. Take it easy, they will learn the language, they are already emersed in it.

20k is actually a fair local price for a tough and demanding and dangerous job. Toubab price will be around 45k to 50k. Im currently looking for a well digger myself, and the cheapest I found so far is 35k and the guy is booked up for more than a month. We need to pay these hard working people a fair price and not keep trying to drive them down, to below levels where they cant even provide a decent quality of life for their families. Ive lived among ordinary Gambians on and off over the last 3 years and I have observed how they live hand to mouth for years on end and cant find a way out because those who can afford to pay more, whether it is for their skilled work as contractors, or a salary are always trying to squeeze them beyond reasonable limits of basic healthy living. The exploitation of small people has got to stop, they barely surviving as it is. Its no wonder that this kind of exploitation and squeezing of people, can lead to endemic hopelessness, desperation and eeventually to even more desperate backlashes where we just perpetuate the cycle where everyone is trying to get something out of anyone any chance they get and no trust in any aspect of life.

I don't understand why the BAG is always going the long and unproductive way, there are machine that can drill and also determine how deep one can go before seeing water, instead of going the old school way, that work Can be done in 2 days instead of the 10 days .Man you need to talk to some other folks to see the options you have when it comes doing things like that, just saying.
@farmingdreams72264 жыл бұрын
kwabena abban Perhaps not time efficient...but how many Gambians have those machines needed to finish in the 2 days. There are multiple goals at work here. 1 of them is to do business with our own people. Watch the other video’s where they make clear that they want to spent with our people first where possible. If this man continue to get work from our people, one day he can buy that machine. When I move to the region I want to pay my people to do the work.
