Slight Correction: Palpatine justified the creation of the Clone Assassins to combat Dooku's Cadre of Dark Jedi which at the time included Asajj Ventress, Sora Bulq and several dozen others. Note, this game was made long before TCW, so it was based upon the lore of the Multi-Media Project, which included the Republic Comics, the various books such as Shatterpoint and the Commandos Series, and of course the Clone Wars Micro Series.

The Assassin\CQC Clones could be reworked into canon as a special force trained to assist the Jedi in both combating fallen Jedi like Dooku or his dark followers such as Ventress, and as stealth infiltrator's ala Solid Snake. At least officially. in secret, unknown even to the Clones, Palpatine gave them special directives that upon Order 66's activation would allow them to match the Jedi.

Tbh I dunno what is wrong with a sharp-shooter. Maul is far better assasin Droids and tank were out of sight when he said that the sector is clear. Also a sharpshooter itself can be very useful in taking down single targets, lie for example: MG gunner or tank commander or whatever so I don't know why the sharpshooter on the clip is even on the list. Also the "bino" thing on his helmet can be raised (Cody had the same device).

I thought up a way the Skeletal troopers could maybe be used. It's highly situational but here we go- Stealth operations at night or dark planets: A Droid unit was patrolling through a dark forest. On this planet the nights were even darker than on other planets, combine with the fact that the trees obscured any moonlight, the only way the droids could see were their gunmounted flashlights. The unit stopped for a bit kinda bored, their was no way a republic attack would take place so why even do patrols? **twig snap** a droid jerks upwards and points his gun towards the sound. "Contact!" Was the last thing he said before being pulled into the trees by a barbaric scythe. Suddenly the droid unit was surrounded by the image of Skeletons around them, these spirits ripped them apart with primitive weapons. Droids are not programmed to feel fear, but they did anyway. **Blaster fire** The droids opened fire at anything that moved, focusing on the neon glows, but this would be the final nail in the coffin as the Troopers activated strobes. The entire skeletal light began flashing rapidly disorienting the droids as their visual sensors overloaded. As the last droid fell, the Skeletal beings lights turned off and left the area. An entire droid force taken out without a single tabana gas cartridge used.

The Blaze Trooper is still useful. He is basically a juggernaut, change one of the flamethrowers with a blaster machine gun, and here we go. Also, they have jetpacks to compensate their weight. The Sharpshooter or Sniper is, from my perspective, not very well judged. I mean, tactically you would not send a sniper to the first combat lines, they aren't prepared to such work. The mere case of having one appear in the popular scene of Battlefront II is just mere marketing purposes, but normally you wouldn't see a sniper recon unit just walking streets like if they were assault, heavy or official units. Assassins had a role, and you just deploy them for that role. I agree that in the general battlefield of the Clone Wars they would have been destroyed, but they were meant to combat Jedi (theory says that also dark jedi or just force sensitive users who joined Dooku and the CIS, but Sidious had more in his mind to use them against the Jedi). That's why in Legends you never saw them outside Order 66, because it wasn't their moment. Also, both of you agreed that they were annoying to kill, and that's a positive trait in combat. Not only does that mean that they are hard to hit, but also good in "wear and tear / attrition" tactics. Wait until the Jedi goes mad because of frustration or something, and when they aren't rational anymore and more vulnerable than ever, strike back. Those are my comments to the most salvageable clones, for me.

They only had two flame throwers in the TCW adventures MMO, where the armor set was called for some reason "Super Trooper", likely so the kids, who were the majority that played it, knew it's better than average. In their first appearance in the ROTS game, the had only one, the other arms was used for slashing the enemy witht hr plate on the backside. Agree about that blaster chaingun as additional weapon. Think the problem they had with the assassins was again the typical "they're too powerful, the guy who made that video, doesn't really seem to know much about SW and Legends lore in particular, you only see videos of new games. He seems to think Jedi are totally vulnerable against Clones, and having melee wepaons make them even weaker, but he doesn't consider that already regular clones are on par with the best human soldiers in the galaxy and having a small number dedicated for fighting jedi specially, who are trained their whole live just for the purpose of fighting jedi and have secretly exercised and honed their skills with low level jedi, such as padawans, and using a martial arts made to fight jedi more effectively, makes the clone assassins quite proficient in what they do. Clone armor is already not that heavy, only weighting 10 to 15 kg at most and allow for still allow for a lot of agility, there are even people who can do back flips with 30kg medival full plate armor, clone armor allow for even more. With assassins armor the clones are even more agile and quick, especially wehn you train the whole time in it and are totally used to it. Only thing issue could be that they had to be trained in unarmed combat and used wrist attached vibro blades, instead of being trained sword or staff weapon fighters. But even that could be to add add a level of unpredictability, since even though my jedi are good swordsmen, not all, such as less combat trained ones, are used to expert martial artist who are so quick and skilled, that they can dodge strikes due to their training.

The lancer troopers, to me, are a good unit that were used in the wrong way. You can see how Dirge uses the mobility of his speeder and the piercing ability of his lance to pierce the armor of Republic AT-ATs. That's what these guys are probably supposed to be. But then Obi-Wan ordered them to drive head first into Dirge's unit. Bad move.

Um, doesn't it show in the Clone Wars tv show that the visor for the clones in Battlefront II can be put up, making them be able to see? Bly, Rex, & others use it in the show, but easy put it up when not using it, or back down again if needed

Commander Gree can't 1 v 1 a Senate commando Bombastic: he's incompetent! all clone commanders are now on the bottom of the list all because that one clone was incompetent. (Basically how he ranked clone specialist)
