#IWILLASCEND!!! Thank you for all your videos Jax!!!! Love this one and I have a lot of favorites of yours. First off 90s babies for life!!!! Secondly, I enjoy all 3!! Outdoors for the sun and being near a nice beach or park does wonders. Home gym if you can’t go out or too sick you can bust out a quick workout. Gym for the variety of equipment and social aspect all there. Can’t wait for more of your videos🙏🏽🙏🏽

I would do a combination of both home & outside. When i step outside, i make it exclusively for cardio & overall conditioning. I would love to bring the weights outside (especially when i get me some kettlebells), but i dont want them to get dirty or worse... A neighbor's dog or cats get in the way during a toss; they're always are jumping around waiting for me to give them food/treats again 😒. I dont mind revisiting a local gym though, but I'm on a budget right now lol

Same, albeit for different reasons. As an introvert who doesn't really like driving, just getting to a gym is a hit to my energy. Fortunately, I'm still at a point where I can challenge myself with bodyweight exercises and improvised equipment, so I can do a lot of stuff at home. The rest I can handle with a run around the neighborhood, preferably late when the air feels nice and _I_ feel less awkward. Eventually I'll probably reach a point where I need better equipment to get the most out of it, but who knows. By then I might be able to buy more. Or maybe I'll have some extra confidence and going out to a gym won't seem like a big deal anymore.

I run outside, rain or shine, I love it. And people will drive past and give me a thumbs up sometimes, which I think is sweet. As for weight training, I own all my own equipment - I feel like there’s no room to make excuses to not work out when your barbell is literally staring right at you when I’m sitting on the couch watching tv, haha. And I don’t have to worry about driving to the gym in bad weather, having to share stuff with some juice head who’s busy filming himself, etc. AND I can play my anime AMVs to get me pumped, haha.

I started working out in a gym and slowly (over the course of a decade) evolved to working out at home (just kind of naturally) as I gathered knowledge and experience. The gym helped give me that drive and desire to stay consistent with my training that I may not have developed had I tried to start at home. At home I feel like I can push myself further, condense or extend a workout, and spontaneously train if I get hyped. Also if I truly wear myself out, like Goku on the way to Namek, I can literally crash out on the spot.

if you have the right mindset, space, and a designated amount of money you're willing to invest, i definitely say go for the home gym. you just have to flip the switch in your mind that nobody else can work out for you, and that if you ever want to be in good shape, you have to work out, even when you dont want to. and for those looking to build a home gym, the first things id recommend investing in are: - a set of dumbbells (if you want to save money, get adjustable ones) - a bench - a pull up bar - a barbell and plates for that barbell - some kind of squat/power rack with safety bars to limit depth (can also be used for bench press if you don't have a spotter, but be careful) many also come with a built in pull up bar. - bands of varying tensions

Haven't thought about a squat/power rack yet or the bands... I'm not even sure I have the space for the rack in my spare room, but I'll keep the suggestion in mind. The rest are all items I want to acquire for my future home gym, just as soon as I get rid of some old furniture (couch, lounge chair) that hasn't been used for anything other than storage for over a decade.

@@JaxBlade Well, took more than a few weeks but thought I finally write an update. I definetly prefer going to a commercial gym haha. I felt like I kinda got stuck in my progress after only doing home workouts for years and now that I've been going to an actual gym I can finally see progress again. In hindsight though, a big reason for that is probably that going to a gym made me fall a lot deeper into the fitness rabbit hole so I researched a ton which made me realize there was definetly a lot I could have done to get better results at home but anyways going to the gym with tons of equipment feels like going to a toy store compared to my old 10kg dumbbells at home.

Okay I’m on the ticks part of this video, and I just wanna bring in a quick story about them. So during my senior year I mad it a habit to walk around this nature fulled park very close to my high school. Usually, I would walk around their with my best friend (who I knew for years, and still is my BFF till this day) We would walk their pretty early bc one good weather, and too to kill sometime. So after our walk, we head by to our school, and through the half the school day I wasn’t outside yet. So it’s lunch time, and I went to my art class, which during lunch time I would finish on a few art pieces. I remember it was me, my current gf, and few other friends. As I was working on my art work I felt a weird crawling sensation on my neck, which I haven’t felt whatsoever all day. So I naturally put my hand on my neck, grabs it, looked at it, and freaked the hell out. I immediately threw it onto the ground, squished it flat. My gf figured out what happened, and laughed. I told her I think I was traumatized because this was the first time a ticks was on me, and I knew how dangerous they can be sometimes. She laughed harder at me. So through out the whole day I was traumatize for awhile now. The whole day I kept feeling like something was crawling on me, but nothing was there. It was just my brain just being paranoid liked crazy. So yeah F ticks.

I usually do home gym - I have a door frame pull up bar, handles for deficit push ups and a weighted vest, but don't need much more. I like it most because its convenient, clean, dry and yeah - no bugs. With that said I like to switch it up some times - most commonly using a calisthenics park when the weather is nice or even a gym at a hotel when I'm traveling, and there is no park with pull up bars close by. This one time, i was working out at a calisthenics park at around dusk. There were some other regulars there too, although none of us knew each other, we usually just greeted one another and said bye when we left. On that particular day it started to rain, nothing too serious, just a light drizzle. But man, the feeling of the rain, the music (at the moment I was listening to some Slavic / Nordic music), the dark cloudy weather ,this being in the middle of a wooded park and everyone just being focused on their own sets/exercises really made me feel like we were a band of warriors preparing to go to war. Really hyped up the motivation - probably one of my best workout experiences.

I think nothing beats the feeling of working out in the early mornings outside in a park or in nature. A big con as a woman is that sometimes people would just stare while you work out and that's uncomfortable. But a combination of all three works the best. Home gym when you are down and just want to squeeze a workout or when the weather is not agreeable, gyms for the social element and outside for the vitamin D, feeling of refreshment and connection to the earth. Also, meditating in the nature is super awesome.

You could probably go with any routine, but you would need to tone it down a bit. Let's say you go with tokito ohma tough like toonz. Jax uses in that video weighted calisthenics, which is something that you probably can't do, so instead you will do basic pushup/pullup etc. Without weight. If basic pushup/pullup etc is too hard, find easier variant (pushups - put your hands on higher surface. Pullups - use bands or if you can, do bodyweight rows). Ofc this is just an example, but just find a routine you like and adjust the exercises to your level. Have a great day

I recently started going to a commercial gym, and I've been liking it more than working out at home. I live in an apartment, and I don't have the room necessary for setting up a home gym and it would be too expensive for me to acquire the equipment. Plus, I want to try and socialize with people, and the commercial gym is the place to accomplish that. It just gets boring to work out by myself without people to interact with.

Garage gym - usually it's mixed up with other stuff, other people's stuff and all the problems of life, so if I'm lifting heavy at home I'm not gonna make near as much progress as I would in a gym. Can do tons of calisthenics and kettlebells at home no problem though, so I've learned to get a workout in wherever, whenever and with whatever equipment. Depends on the garage and whether you want to work out with like minded people or alone on that day/month/year. I have to love the process. Discipline will keep me on track during the worse times. Love will get me to the next level.

If you can, I think it's a great experience to switch from one to the other if your routine starts to get stale. Personally, I really like the unspoken motivation/competitive nature between gym members. Anyone that has ever been to a public gym on a regular basis starts to give mental nicknames (or real names if you're social, I guess) to the other people, and eventually they become an obtuse form of motivation. "Man, I want to skip going to the gym today, but I know Anchor-Tattoo and Mullet-Tanktop will notice my absence. Guess I better go." #IWillAscend

Already spent quite some time, money and space into building my home gym I'm not really going to a commercial gym as long as I live in this house... I'm an introvert who works at home (sitting in a computer all day) and hates driving, closest gym is about 15 min drive with no traffic, 30 with traffic, time that I would rather spend sleeping a little bit more or just sitting in the bench feeling I'm about to pass away due to the intensity of my routine, I walk no more than 100 steps and I'm already home (ready to work...) So for me it is definitely home gym. Some tips for people who are considering building a home gym: consider seriously what are your goals, if you want to lift big probably it's not the best option (even with security, some lifts can go horribly wrong and you would be better off having a spotter with you), if you want to build muscle (naturally) and/or lose fat then it may actually work, just mix some calisthenics with weight lifting, get the absolute minimal equipment youll need (bench, pull-up bar, dip station, Smith machine if you feel elegant, a weight bar and dumbbells that you can buy discs separately for and you're basically set, oh also a full body mirror)

Two weeks ago I've come out of a 5-year-long relationship (7 years in total, on and off over 15 years and 4 attempts) and it has come to my attention that I REALLY need to train again. Certainly, I knew that for a few years now, but it's very easy to not do anything about it when your nearly-wife doesn't care about your expanding belly and you both live a hugely sedentary lifestyle (in my case, for the last 2.5 years, I usually only went out twice a month or so and she didn't go outside for months at a time). A partner not caring is an excuse, obviously, but now that I'm alone (save for my grandmother that lives with me), I have zero reservations about signing up and going to a gym - I even found a nice cozy one ~12min away from where I live that even has an optional sauna. The only thing keeping me from going there right now is my messed up sleeping schedule that has me currently waking up at 6pm with not a lot of energy. >_>' I need to fix that ASAP and then I can finally start working on reversing the last 2.5 years of sedentarism, hopefully working past my previous limits and eventually attaining the strongman physique I've always wanted. With that as a backdrop, I'd also like to mention that I'm very interested in setting up a home gym with at least a weight bench, a bar for pull-ups, a frame for my long-time-idle boxing bag, a treadmill for both myself and my grandmother, and my old PC that will serve as a workout jukebox. I've wanted a home gym for decades, but it's only recently that I've become a homeowner and have the spare room required... after I chuck out a 40-year-old bed, a broken lounge chair, and a wobbly table. I'm personally not interested in working out outdoors regularly (too many mosquitoes and weather fluctuations here), but I'm not against having the odd run once in a while. Now, at 36, I finally intend to walk on the road of steel. #IWillAscend Cheers to everyone in the comment section - we _can_ ascend to an improved version of ourselves if we set our minds to it!

Spartan Race Sprint in town gives a goal that I couldn't do when I started but should be able to do by then also is where a commercial gym is really useful. But the videos on youtube are always enjoyable and the cooldown from mighty guide is a favourite for this new program as it didn't come with one.

I used to always do my exercise outside usually at a park using what was there or just out in some field but where I live now I dont have that so I just go to the gym. The gym I go to also boosts my energy cause im not the only one there who isn't going super saiyan with the weights lol

#IWILLASCEND - For me, I think it's between home gym or regular gym membership. Lugging my equipment to the park sometimes feels very chore-y and not great on my back. Plus the backpack is most certainly on its last legs by now. Can't deny that view though x)

I have a home gym. It consists of a pull up bar and 2 folding chairs. All together costs me $15. I have been doing calisthenics almost exclusively for almost 5 years. While working out alone is certainly fun, I have always wondered what it would be like to work out in a real gym or with another person.

#IWILLASCEND I do a combo of outdoor and commercial gym. My gym is five minutes away on my bike, so it's quite convenient to just hop over anytime. Outside I run rain or shine, and there's a park close by that's good for some calistenics.

I will ascend. My house has a tonal system and I finally got a pull/dip area installed. I have tried with bands to get a pull up but seem to have better success at Plannet fitness with the weighted chin up/dip machine to gain strength to use the one at home. Was starting to the. Got injured in a car accident and finally got the clear to go all out at the gym two months ago. Took a month to ease into it.

For me personally its the gym because i know my ass in my house would rather play games and sleep rather than get healthier. Going to the gym forces me outside of my house into a different environment. To me going to the gym isnt just a training of body but of the mind. As an anxious introvert, going to the gym allows me to practice my self confidence interacting with workers and fellow gym goers. Its also so motivating when you see people actually giving it there all that it motivates you also. Plus theres wifi at the gym so i can watch anime while on the treadmill, gotta be catching the latest episodes of demon slayer while im on the track

#IWILLASCEND great video Jax! Even just a walk outside boosts my mood so much. I have trained in the gym because at home I'm just gonna end up taking too long of a rest between sets. On my bed. In the form of a nap.

I will ascend, for me it's home gym, it's convient safe and helps having the gym in your face as covid showed its best to have your gym accessible to you, it may cost you, but all most need is an olympic barbell and dumbell, adjustable bench and a weightrack and your good from there, and it beats dealing with outside and it beats a monthly membershio

In my experience, all are great; Jogging by the beach in the morning and then doing calisthenics afterwards, love the fresh breeze and the people you come across. Commercial Gyms, been to a boxing gym and the typical gym. Met people there, and spotted for me. And for now, i'm mostly home gym. I follow along your burpee and Push ups vids before lifting 😁. Great vid as always #IWILLASCEND

#IWILLASCEND. I expected anything, but the speech of "I have no mouth and I must scream." I used my homegym for a long time. Since I'm working at a Medical Fitness gym I use the machines there. The amount of money you save for not buying new weights is incredible. Just use what works for you.

I will ascend, I would say I do a mix of outside and gym. I'm lucky enough that my work + apartment have gyms but nothing is like a walk or jog at the park. The hardest part for me is sticking to health eating habits. During work week it's pretty easy but on the weekends I eat too much haha

#iwillascend for me it's a 3 way tie for first. Working out at home fornthe days I feel lack luster but still need to move. Commercial gym for compound movement and getting the energy around everyone else improving. Outside when it's good days fresh air sunlight all things we need.
