The tracker knife is actually one of the best knifives to process most survival things, I love also how it carries, it doesn't get in the way much and is still a light item. But I will say you have to give it a good sharpening for a while to get a sharp edge and the separation of the 3 bladed parts I find a challenge sometimes, but it is my go to survival knife. Forgot to add that the saw back is actually a notch maker, you can actually use the knife to build a survival shelter.

Kyle, that was an excellent selection of knives. You keep surprising me at every turn. All of those knives have a lot to offer in a range of survival situations. The tracker knife has those deep saw blade like cuts in it towards the front of the knife. Very few people know what they are for. They have a very practical purpose and those on that knife had deep enough grooves to accomplish it's intended purpose. That purpose is for wire breaking, not cutting, but breaking, like wire in link fencing or even wire like barbed or razor wire. All wire pops when an area becomes work hardened. Insert wire between the projections and work the wire side to side until it pops. Use the same insert in the knife for breaking wire until it becomes ineffective then move to the next wire insert. That knife should be able to go through quite a bit of wire in it's lifetime if it has proper temper. Each wire insert can be resharpened after usage and it's utility restored. I use a separating disk on a flex shaft or dremel for fast sharpening. I never create heat that would show even the slightest discoloration on the metal and as a secondary precaution I maybdo a rapid oil dunk to keep it cool. I clean off the oil completely and repeat the same process until I have the perfect squareness. Marines used to put wood underneath barbed wire and place their knife edge on top and hit the blade with a small hardwood log to go through the wire. There are many ways to get through wire and wire fencing without a cutter and your knife posesses that ability. I have never seen that feature in D2 steel but I believe it ought to work fine. All of your other descriptions are spot on. I don't know if you are familiar with Tops Knives, E.J.Snyder of the show Alone And Naked, designed a knife similiar to yours in a large and a small size, made of 1095 steel. The large one is a beast and costs nearly the beastly sum of 400.00. E.J. is a great guy in person. He designed the knife to be a one tool option in survival. Tom Brown is another outdoorsman who designed the original Tom Brown tracker as a multiple chore knife. I of course, prefer E.J.'s knife because it makes short work of combat in a survival situation and can take you where you want to go afterwards. The knife you have is quite similiar to E.J.'s as versus Tom Brown's tracker. Tops makes both knives now. Someone else used to make Tom Brown's but I don't remember who it was. Again I loved all of the knives you showed. I love fixed blades with very little interest in folders unless that folder can be batoned without breaking. I thought that jab you took at yourself with the kick clip was as cute as heck. I bet that is the only pumpkin that ever got slaughtered and died with a grin. Oh well, I guess I bored you to death and you are busy. God bless you and those you love ! A friend always ! I hate boredom !

Good day Sir. Chose the Bowie. Also liked the woodsman and tracker knives. Honestly I thought you might have hurt your hand from the cinder block, didn't expect the pumpkin 🥴. Funny how injuries can be unexpected. I'm at the age where I can get hurt just sleeping 🤪. For the most part, blade length is subjective, depending upon what I'm doing. In the wilderness, I definitely carry a blade with eight or more inches to the blade. Critter defense. To bad the Bowie is stainless, still choose it though. Keep an eye on your thumb, those types of infections can be troublesome. Hope you have a great week and an Awesome weekend. Till Wednesday. Slan leat☘️

@@Karatemart All knives are good ,dont worry so much about steel type afterall cavemen had to survive with just pointed sticks and some pieces of sharp flint. Then you get the Bronze age still no steel but some good knives ,swords, spearheads, ect, so if anyone should find themselves in a real survival situation be grateful to have any knife or be smart enough to make some sort of defense weapons out of mother nature. Myself prefer a big blade for animal defense close quarters fighting and a smaller blade for camp chores.

Those are all good knives I especially like the tracker knife. but honestly I'm not sure if you wouldn't need more than one type of grind on a knife. the hollow grind used on most of those knives is extremely sharp and would be great for skinning and many other functions. but hollow grind is also fragile and it might be good idea to have part of the edge be hollow grind while the other flat grind for example. (I don't know enough about survival knives or knives in general to really say but this might be a decent idea or I could be way off I'm not really sure) I like everything about the tracker knife however the serration is not functional and this is a big downer. Otherwise all those knives look good to me but the tracker knife is probably the best for this purpose.
