Peat bog and Ebon Stronghold are both old sleepers as far as mono black tap lands. Definitely worth it and both are under a $1

Cabal stronghold isn't just "breaking even" at 4 swamps. You can tap sol ring and other colorless artifacts to produce black mana with it, so at 4 swamps it's become a filter land, then at 5 it's producing a net gain on mana. Of course this isn't particularly relevant, but it can be in a devotion deck with a lot of black pips or in decks that run cards that need a lot of black mana like Consume Spirit or Pestilence.

Castle lochwain is great in a vilis broker of blood deck. For those who don't know, vilis is a 8cmc 8/8 black demon who states Whenever you lose life draw that many cards. Has another ability with tap mana pay 2life to activate.

To help explain Gitrog, there's several ways to do this but the easiest to understand is to have a discard outlet, discard Dakmor-> dredge Dakmor- > repeat while drawing everytime a land hits the yard-> play a ritual (Lotus Petal/Dark Ritual etc)-> discard a shuffler (typically an Eldrazi titan). Continue until you make enough mana to cast an X spell or have a drain effect.

Funny thing about Cabal Stronghold with Urborg is that any basic lands of other types now count toward the count…because they’re now basic swamps.

Tomb of Urami in my Juri, Master of Revue deck seems both risky and potentially deadly. What's not to like? "End of turn, sac all lands, put 13 +1/+1 counters on Juri... oh, you have removal?"

Tomb of urami works in a muldrotha deck with splendid reclaimation to get all of your lands back in play

Cabal stronghold does combo with urborg, just less so. It gets slightly better when you add a color, because your urborg will turn your basic forests into forests that are also swamps but does not remove the basic typing. So With urborg and stronghold, it becomes pay 3 and tap: add B for each basic land you control. Not as good as coffers but still can be really powerful.

As for Howltooth Hollow, I get the feeling it would work in a Tinybones (Trinket Thief), Urgoros (the Empty One), Cao Cao (Lord of Wei), Greel (Mind Raker), He Who Hungers, Liliana (Heretical Healer), Myojin of Night's Reach, Rankle (Master of Pranks), The Haunt of Hightower, Tourach (Dread Cantor), or a Zhang Liao (Hero of Hefei) deck. I'm not so sure it would be used in any other decks outside of those.

Definitely only useful in an aggro discard deck where ur just constantly dumping opponents hands, I have it in my tiny bones deck and it’s produced pretty solid results

I made a Archelos deck using tomb of urami, world shaper, a creature sac land, and the dimir sac land that reanimates from Kaldheim to infinitely swing all my lands in and out of the graveyard. I had landfall triggers and sunscorched desert as ways to actually win the game. The deck really leaned on scapeshift, but I think it's probably the most fun way to use that wonky card.

I run a lot of the deserts in Hapatra as a sub theme. You can do some interesting things with them and I also run Crucible and like effects to play/fetch them from the GY if necessary.

There is one specific card, oppressively powerful in its own right, that I think enables Howltooth Hollow extremely well: Sire of Insanity. Probably want to pick this up for my Kroxa “hellbent orgy” deck. Leechridden Swamp also has a home: Belbe.

Tomb of Urami is good in a deck with martyr’s bond and cosmic intervention. Sacrifice all your lands forcing your opponents to sacrifice an equal number of lands hit the cosmic intervention to bring them all back at the next end step.

Korvold could probably make good use of Tomb of Urami. I'm picturing sac all your lands to pump Korvold then attack and sac Worldshaper and get all your lands back. Definitely going to get a copy and test it out.

Phyrexian Tower is great because it can beat Split Second in terms of timing since it's a mana ability. So you can sacrifice your creature in response to Sudden Substitution, Take Possession, Word Seizing and whatnot.

Castle Locthwain can work pretty well with Vilis, Broker of Blood when you don't have anything else to do with it

Q new favorite of mine is Tower of the magistrate. Strips off pesky equipment from enemies, and coupled with liquemetal torque, can remove auras and help creatures get through. Tower of the Magistrate yo!

I actually run it in my gritog with Herald of Leshrac who constantly steals opponents lands, it's quite fun but annoying to sacrifice other people's lands for your own benefit

I guess it's a bit complicated but Tomb of Urami, The Mending of Dominaria, and Valakut the Molten Pinnacle will probably close a game out. Not like you aren't already running Scapeshift with Valakut anyway.

I play Windgrace frequently and when I know Mending of Dominaria is gonna "ult", I try to sac as many lands as I can before that, and tbh, it's not that hard in a deck like that. Tomb of Urami definitely fits into that strategy, but it's just much more risky. Like he said, "not for the faint of heart"

Why wouldn't Cabal Stronghold not work with Urborg. I get it needs to be a basic swamp, but what about other basic lands? If you have a plains or a mountain, and urborg makes it also a swamp, wouldn't it basically be a basic swamp?

It works exactly how you mentioned it does. I assume most people start playing more dual lands/ utility lands the more colors you add to a deck. But of course if you stick with a lot more basic lands in a multi color it will work together just fine BUT now you are running the risk of Cabal Stronghold not doing much as a stand alone because it will become heavily dependent on Urborg.
