Thank you for watching! Pants can be scary but you got this! You just need to find the right pattern and make little tweaks to fit you the way you desire. The Duet Trousers and Sabrina Slims come with a fitting workbook so I think those are good choices to start with! ~K

The Glissando's remind me of 40's style pants just cropped! Being pear shaped I hate extra bulk at the hip and having the wide hem helps balance the bottom in my opinion.

Great video Kim. My Allegro shorts are the best shorts pattern I’ve ever made. Have Sabrina Slims but haven’t made them. I’ve been crushing hard on Glissando ever since they came out. Sure wish LN would make a zip front piece to trade for button front. Your pants fitting videos are wonderful. Thank you!!!❤️🌵

I respectfully disagree with the idea that making a muslin that one cannot wear is a waste. It is an important part of the learning and fitting process. It allows me the freedom to make the alterations I need and as a beginner I know that there will be fit issues. I don't want he added pressure of sewing a wearable muslin. Nothing we do when learning to sew should be thought of as wasted. It is all part of the process.

Yes I get your point as well. This is the amazing thing about sewing.. some people prefer to make muslins and others not and that's totally fine. For me personally, I have to make a muslin for any pant but for tops I tend to skip muslins to reduce cost because fabric isn't cheap where I live. ~K

When you first talked about wrinkles, I thought you were going to tell how to determine if your material wrinkles. I learned this ages ago. Before buying the fabric, grab a handful, gather it into your hand, and squeeze hard for about a minute. Let go, and check to see how many wrinkles there are.
