Really nice and useful video! It makes a great picture understanding of the landscape Lumix camera's market. But it's true, it seems all the other companies are really crippled with the sub $1000 USD cameras they offer, like some without IBIS or with less Dynamic Range or bad autofocus, that makes it really hard to make a decision about which one to buy and which brand to get into. So I think Lumix could have a great opportunity to make a difference and give refuge to those buyer's segment to their M43 system, by offering a better camera option in the sub $1000 market. Any successor of the Lunix G95, Lumix G7, Lumix G100D, or Lumix GX series, combining with some good Dynamic Range (like the G9's DR), Lumix IBIS (that is already great, just their basic IBIS) and the new Lumix Autofocus, and some Specs that can match the ones on the new Fuji X-M5, so Lumix could likely have all those consumers of this sub $1000 market excited to get into their system. At the end, no matter the brand, we all find the better deal, best value, best bang for bucks!

For photography - S1 &S1R! Hands down best value cameras if you don't want to have a cry about having a REAL heavy duty body and contrast DFD AF (which is perfectly fine for stills). The EVF alone is worth it over a girly tilty flippy S5.

I'm getting a G9II and upgrading from a GX80. I already have a bunch of m4/3 lenses, so i'm staying in the system. Just waiting for some good Black Friday deals in my country like Lumix had last year. It'll be a giant upgrade for me (most excited for PDAF & a more modern sensor + weather sealing). I mostly take pics & only sometimes video, plus i'm not a pro so 32-bit float audio or internal pro-res would be something i'd never use. G9II is going to be awesome for me and it's a bit cheaper than gh7. Also lighter

Dear Lumix, The GH7 needs a firmware update for 4k 120, 1080p 240 auto focus and 300p. I'm switching to Sony or Nikon if it doesn't happen. I'd like to stay with Lumix MFT if I can because of the colors, stabilization, now phase detect and of course the Leica zooms.

Hi Matthew. Thank you for sharing this great lumix content. Keep up the great work! I just wanted your opinion on something. I am an owner of a gh5 and I am using a metabones speedbooster (Canon EF Lens to Micro Four Thirds T Speed Booster XL 0.64x) and all of my 3 lenses are Ef. I am considering upgrading to a S5iix and not a gh7 which a more reasoned choice I guess. I have seen footage from both cameras and I can say that I like the image quality of S5iix a bit more. However that means that I have to find another adapter to use my Ef lenses (probably the sigma mc-21). What do you think about this? Is it worth? I saw that with this adapter the auto focus system works pretty well too compared to the gh7 and the metabones speedbooster. I am mentioning that because having this auto focus system working properly is a really a major factor for me to consider for my next camera and also to utilize my Ef lenses at the same time.

Hmmmmm well I guess it depends. If low light is important aka you shoot events, weddings, real estate, etc. basically shooting anything that requires to shoot where you won’t have control of lighting then the S5iiX is the way I would go. Bokeh will look so much nicer imo, if you ever want to invest in future full frame cameras that will make it easier, you can start pretty fresh into l mount too and perhaps get a bundle kit to pick up a few lenses on BH. However! If you are happy with the bokeh, and low light performance with the GH5 then you will love the GH7 performance, better specs, more features, etc. I would also watch my GH7 vs S5iiX video that could hopefully help!

Just bought GH7; it's great but everyday carry will still be G100D + 15/1.7. Lumix desperately needs a middle camera - small with IBIS and EVF rising the spec to basic 10bit video.

G7ii baby😂🤷🏼♂️ 4k 24/30fps 10 bit with ibis and we are golden for like $698 or something
@donald537812 күн бұрын
@ I would prefer a GX80 or GX9 style body. With the small G100D I find the central EVF not ideal - my nose gets in the way and with a microphone on the hot shoe it is difficult to get into the eyepiece. The offset 'rangefinder style' EVF solves these issues.

The Achilles heel of Panasonic Lumix offerings is the lower under USD 1000 with no PDAF cameras.
@raizt159612 күн бұрын
In a couple years, the low end of Panasonic cameras will all have PDAF when things like the GH8, or S2H come out. G9ii will be their low end.

I'm starting to lean towards the Lumix S9, at first I thought it was a little bit underwhelming but as I saw more and more videos about it now it looks like a great camera to jump to full frame, while the S5iix has better features I rather pair the S9 with the S1h successor whenever it comes out hopefully.

@MatthewDangyou12 күн бұрын
Okay! Well the reason I suggest the GH7 more is if you want a more capable video camera. It is future proofing the camera even more if you ever need to shoot in RAW. BUT for price the G9ii is great, the body is amazing, dual recording on SD cards is great too.

@@ekamjotsingh7982 My mindset with cameras is the purpose of the camera, and future proofing. Depends on if you are willing to fork over money later on when Lumix launches the next flagship full frame camera that doesn't have compromises I would recommend the S5iiX because it is super capable, low light is amazing, and Full Frame. The only major downside is the 4k 60fps crop. But also use those links in bio if you do get it 🤪 But the GH7 is super powerful but if you are filming low light events, weddings, or just need more power then S5iiX is what I personally recommend

@raizt159612 күн бұрын
@MatthewDangyou ah, maybe you're not aware of the issue. There are specific frequencies that are missing in the audio profile for the G9ii and GH7. Only 1 person has done a video on it, but several others have confirmed it. Panasonic likely cut out these portions of the audio to block the noise from a running fan on the camera, a shutter click, or something silimar. It's a pretty big issue in my opinion.
