Superstars by far. I own both and the super Mario party mini games don’t read the movements all the time for motion games. Mario party Superstars fixed that by making every mini game played with buttons and bought back classic maps. Super Mario party has a better character selection , but Mario party all stars is just a bit better still

I like both games, Super Mario party was a step in the right direction after a few failed games recently, Mario party superstars brings back the old Classic party board for what makes Mario party fun.

I personally prefer Superstars as it has an extra board, the board designs are better, and the whole thing makes me feel nostalgia, however I dont think its perfect, could use a little more content

If you want to play both games, you have to buy and play Super Mario party first. Once you play superstars, there is no going back to Super Mario Party.

In my opinion Mario Party Superstars is the most overrated Mario Party game to date. Super Mario Party is underrated while Mario Party Superstars is overrated. Mario Party Superstars is loved and praised like crazy only because of Nostalgia for the N64. “The best Mario Party ever because of MUH NOSTALGIA!” Here’s why I think Mario Party Superstars is not a good game. 1 Lack of Content: If you do not have online, there is nothing to do in this game other than playing the same five boards. Even with online there is still not much to do other than play the 5 boards or play mini-games which can we experienced in the main party mode. Super Mario Party has Partner Party, River Survival, Sound Stage, and Challenge Road which can’t be experience in the main party mode. While Super Mario Party does lack content like most ND Cube Mario Parties, Superstars lacks even more content and all the content is grabbed from older Mario Parties. 2 It is the bare minimum for a so called Superstar Compilation game: It brings none of the side modes from the old Mario Parties, has no unique side modes, only has five boards, only 10 characters, 100 mini-games where 75% are grabbed from The Top 100. 3 Only five remade boards: It only has 5 remade boards for a 2021 Mario Party game while Mario Party 1 has 8 original boards. It’s lazy and Nintendrones excuse this because they hate any slight criticism to Nintendo. 5 remade boards is lazy for them. They can do way better but do not because they know people with love and buy the game anyway. Next Mario Party will have 3 boards and then the next will have 1 board and Nintendrones will still defend it. There are so many great Mario Party boards from the past they could remaster but they only do five. Even 1 more Mario Party 3 board would add more but they did not even do that. Super Mario Party does also have this problem but they did have to create the boards and they all have the partner party variants so it is about equal when it comes to boards. Just imagine what this game would be like if it had 12 remastered boards and boards from Mario Party 4-8. 4 Small Character Roster: I know the characters all play the same but to me characters are very important to Mario Party. It would not be Mario Party without the characters. It would be like if Mario Kart only had 12 characters to play in the next installment. When you play online it is likely someone else will pick the same character and cannot join you because you cannot pick the same character. The roster is also very standard with just the human characters with Yoshi, DK and Birdo. There is not much variety with the characters. 5 The Mini-games: There are some solid mini-games in this compilation like Bookskirm and Dungeon Duos but there are also tons of unnecessary ones that would be better off replaced with better mini-games. The 1 vs 3 mini-games are mostly all unfair and always favor the one player and most of the choices are all ripped from the Top 100. Also the mini-games are so unevenly divided. There are only 2 Mario Party 8 mini-games, only 3 Mario Party 10 mini-games, and like 24 Mario Party 3 mini-games. Super Mario Party actually has mostly fun solid mini-games. 6 It is played way too save: While Super Mario Party is played save, Superstars is played even saver. It does absolutely nothing new and is only for nostalgia pandering. 7 Broken Coin Economy: While Super Mario Party does indeed have this problem too, Superstars is just as bad with the over-abundance of Lucky Spaces, Double Coin Mini-games, Coin Mini-games, and cheep cheep (like the fish) items. When you see footage of gameplay, lots of the players have over 100 coins. One time in Hammer Drop I got 75 yes 75 coins from one mini-game. There are some things that are better in Superstars like online support, being able to play on handheld, and way more customization options but that is all I can think of. If you are a fan of the older Mario Party games especially the N64 ones then I would recommend Superstars but for children, newcomers and modern Mario Party fans I recommend Super Mario Party.

Never played any Mario Party game. Gonna check out both with my siblings. And Mario is kind to invite Waluigi to parties. Poor guy.. Nintendo however is such a mean gatekeeper to get mr Wa his own game and get to be a badass fighter in Super Smash Bros.. I dont get why Nintendo " buys " Waluigi from Camelot and make the charather their own. Again Waluigi is partly co-created by Fumihide Aoki and Shigeru Miyamoto

As a first timer, we regret that we sold mario party over superstars because of these things: 1) less characters 2) no unique character dice 3) no mode where you can walk anywhere, forgot the term 4) no double or triple stars 5) stars dont move when bought You only lile superstars because of nostalgia. But for casual and first timers, mario party is better, it just needs more boards.

1. Less is more. A lot of the characters on the roster of Super Mario Party play some sort of role in Mario Party Superstars. Superstars still has a solid roster. 2. Unique character dice were unbalanced and too gimmicky. 3. That's what happens when the boards aren't a boring square 4. You can get double stars with a double star card. So you're just wrong. 5. I don't even know what you mean by this. Only 2/5 boards in Superstars don't have the star move when bought. And one of the boards in SMP doesn't have the star move when it's bought. So both games have 3 boards where the star DOES move, and Superstars still has more overall.
