I just took MO-200 Excel 2019 exam yesterday at the only testing center that offers that exam in Arizona. (I think I was the first one to request the exam from them.) Although I received credit for the 2019 version, I was tested using Excel 2016. The testing center doesn’t even have the Excel 2019 software yet. The exam itself seemed like it was for 77-727 rather than MO-200 since it did not require any of the new functions that are only for MO-200 such as CONCAT or TEXTJOIN and it required CONCATENATE. Thankfully, I watched all your 77-727 videos so I was somewhat familiar with Excel 2016 which really helped me to pass the test anyway. :) Your videos are a great resource!

@Denise Moore I really appreciate you sharing your experience. The functions that you see on the exam are always the luck of the draw. I can't imagine why you would do this, but if you took the exam again, you might see the TEXTJOIN function and other things not seen on the first attempt. Did you have any issues with using the 2016 software? Any questions that you couldn't answer? Anyway, congrats on earning the 2019 Excel certification! it is an awesome accomplishment!

I agree with you about going for the 2019 path, although I believe 2016 will still be valid for at least another 5 years, as Microsoft hasn't even retired the 2013 exams yet.

Microsoft Office Specialist (MOS) 2016 Master requirements: 4 exams: - MOS 2016 Word Expert - MOS 2016 Excel Expert - MOS 2016 Powerpoint - MOS 2016 Access OR MOS 2016 Outlook MOS 2019 Expert requirements: 5 exams: Any 2 of the following: - MOS 2019 Access Expert - MOS 2019 Word Expert - MOS 2019 Excel Expert + MOS 2019 Associate Certification MOS 2019 Associate Certification: Any 3 of the following: - MOS 2019 Excel Associate - MOS 2019 Word Associate - MOS 2019 Outlook Associate - MOS 2019 PowerPoint Associate Let me get this straight, not only is the newer certification more expensive because of an additional 100 USD from having one more exam, it doesn't even guarantee Access or Outlook which will require another exam. It's highly redundant if you want to skip the Associate levels of Word and Excel. I hope they streamline this. It's ridiculous that the certification now means less but costs more.

@TheKhal I can definitely understand your frustration with the changes and what you feel to be redundant certifications. I can also understand what you are saying about it costing more if you are looking to earn the MOS 2019 Expert distinction. From a teacher's perspective MOS 2019 Associate distinction is nice and appreciated for students. Most of my students will not have enough time with me to earn the expert distinction and so being able to earn the MOS 2019 Associate is a huge accomplishment for my students. I will say that it is nice that a third expert exam was added. The Excel Expert exam is very difficult and it was required to earn the MOS 2016 Master. Having a third exam added to the expert tier allows for some flexibility. Thank you for sharing your view. I appreciate your comment.

It's a little bit trap. Because I need Excel/Word 2019 and Power Point 2019 in my job. I taked Excel Word Expert Certificate but Power Point is only Associate. I didn't want to start with Associate level because exams will be 4 instead. And if I want to become fully Microsoft Office Specialist I have to take Access Expert .Nobody use Access around me . And I have successfuly tkaed Power Point certificated bbut thats not helps without 4 exams for Word&Expert.

@Rene Gaethje It is still acceptable to take the 2016 exams, but I would encourage you to take the 2019 exam if you can.

Thank you but as you said resources none for 2019 Till now no books no resources available even gmetrix not that good in 2016 therefore i can't trust it with 2019 But in 2013 exam & gmetrix they both the same

@Surya Adi Chandra I would contact Certiport to see if maybe they can help you find a testing center. If you decide to do a different exam version, you are going to find similarities between the two exam. Just study out some of the differences. For example, the process/screens are a little different for importing a CSV file in Excel 2016 and 2019/365.

The reason why i choose to do the 2016 version because ive the guide book from where im searching for. And for the 2019 version if only i found an illegal or free guide book and Yt tutorial for the exam then i would like to take the 2019 exam And for the excel, I've looked up for the difference on KZbin and theres only 2 way to open Csv file. @prajakta viroje Yes. You will receive a certificate for each program that you pass. These certificates can be access on your account shortly after you pass the exam.
