Which one supports more force! Baking soda, cement, Coal, foam, cotton mixed with super glue.
I was always intrigued to do this test and think that baking soda was the strongest, but to my surprise, mixing cotton with super glue is the strongest mixture.
What do you think of these tests?🙋🏼‍♂️

Cotton is fibrous so it makes sense it is much stronger than the others. All others are particles so there is a million little points of possible failure. Curious why you chose to try coal as thats not something you cant get off the shelf.

@@gauntlet6387 With these tests it became clear to me which is the strongest mixture and as you mention, cotton is fibrous that when it dries small fabrics intertwine, which makes it very strong and also absorbs much more glue, which helps make it more resistant. . Charcoal withstood the same force as sodium carbonate, so we can trust that mixture as well.

Ok so its charcoal, not coal? Im still confused what made you use charcoal? I bet if you mix the baking soda and cotton you could get an even strong bond, or maybe twine. Cool little experiment anyways. Thank you

Interesting. Also interesting is that on the stick test the cotton didn’t break at the glued joint. It looked like the stick broke. So if you put it in the vise right up to the joint you might get an even higher reading.

The result that the cotton gave is interesting, as you mention, if in the second test it had been placed up to the joint the reading would have been higher, that is why in the final table I placed the cotton in the top 1, also because in the test it broke before reaching the joint 🙋🏼‍♂️

You should have tested without anything. In every experiment you must have a "control".
