I’ll be honest, I’ve always wanted to play a game like this where your choices actually matter, but I don’t think I realized just how stressful that can make every decision in the game
@damonplay81852 жыл бұрын
Right? I jokingly call it a politics and diplomacy simulator from time to time because do fsr I've really taken the decisions seriously and took the effort to think potential consequences through thoroughly. I hope the game rewards such a playstyle.

The key is to just let things happen first run through, and then you can engineer your other runs for maximum fun. I think part of the intrigue is not knowing where things will go, it's so much fun to think about where you'll randomly end up, but I think this game will give you enough hints along the way to make your decisions!

So many of the decisions left me stumped, not knowing what to do. Some of the harder choices later In the game created amazing moral dilemmas.
@aggressivelymediocre3502 жыл бұрын
I think the best thing to do is just be honest with what you believe is the best choice in each situation. That’s what I’m doing with this game. Like, in the prologue demo, (which I played as though I didn’t know what would happen later) I chose to go to Hyzante because it was described to be basically forced into the alliance, and I thought it would be more important to start building the bond between Hyzante and Glenbrook sooner, in order to preserve lasting peace. I know that’s far deeper than the game presents it, but it’s just fun to role play I guess. Edit: Ok, I believe I’ve made every choice there is to make on my first run. I didn’t have any plans, but I needed up choosing Liberty every time it was available, so I guess that’s where my ideals lie.
@LinkKing72 жыл бұрын
Absolutely, I think going with your gut feeling when it comes to decisions here, and even just gaming experiences in general, is the best way to play a game. Ride the wave wherever it may take you, and then you can calculate and plan in the next runs! I chose Hyzante as well myself because I felt like I wanted to get to know Frederica's wishes more closely. She says "For a better world" as one of her quotes so I have an isnstant soft spot for her!
@WiiSage2 жыл бұрын
I went to Aesfrost, to know more about Frederica situation growing up there and to how that place is, plus hearing about a strong smuggler being arrested interest me, the information told when going there almost will help me understand how future situations lead to that point since not everything is Aesfrost is all roses either

@TazTheYellow2 жыл бұрын
@@LinkKing7 Going to Hyzante is definitely the more strategic choice, given that you are to marry someone who already literally knows Aesfrost inside and out (plus, staying on the bride-to-be's good side is never a bad idea). What interests me more is the convictions associated with the route split. Going Hyzante sports the red Liberty flame, while Aefrost yields the green Morality flame, which is the inverse of what you would expect given that basically swaps the reputation of the two nations, but given what happens in the Hyzante route, I think I can see why it was done that way. Hyzante enforces its egalitarian ideals through rigid conformity (as well as not actually being egalitarian--oops, slave caste!), and thus you see the consequences of a state deficient in Liberty; presumably the exact opposite happens in Aesfrost. Honestly, I went in expecting to do a Moral playthrough, but really, going wherever I feel makes the most sense seems to be making things much more interesting and complex. Plus, route splits are not the only thing that affect Serenoa's convictions--far from it, if that incessant popup message is to be believed! Presumably, if you say, do, and believe the right things, you could potentially take anyone you want down whatever path you want (with presumable exceptions for extreme scenarios, such as oppressing the Roselle with Frederica); perhaps that was the *true* Triangle Strategy all along.

There is also another option for those who want to keep as many characters as possible. There are guides if you are so inclined, however, it's the most difficult route possible that we currently know of.
@JRPG-Mickey2 жыл бұрын
3:25 Not a bad guess. Your "decisions" you make ultimately assist with your persuasive abilities when voting situations occur throughout the game. Your conviction levels seem to serve as to that main purpose more than anything else. So, not exactly a 1 to 1 exchange with "who you'll recruit" but rather the path you and the team will go down...which of course will entail who you run into, thus who you will be able to recruit. Close enough!

If this is the case, I think I’d follow Roland/morals first, Frederica/Liberty second, and Utility last because I refuse to turn a blind eye to corruption.

I kind of answered everything with my gut going through the demo, but I took an immediate liking to Frederica and her struggles, I suppose my question is there a way to KNOW I am choosing what aligns with her? There isn't really a way to know 100%, but it feels like she wants to go to Hyzante in the demo so that's where I went, and I'm assuming anything to do with freeing the Roselle will be allied with her as well so it'll be up to you to make those decisions. I think it is quite possible to not antagonize your inner circle if you choose an option that goes against the convictions of others. What made me think this is the fact that in the first demo, if Serenoa were to protect Roland and engage in battle with Avlora, defeating her without setting fire to the town had a different reaction from Avlora and Serenoa's party than when they did use the traps. This leads me to believe that every option you select also has a chance of containing different ways to going about them. In this example it was: Protect Roland> use traps/do not use traps.
@LinkKing72 жыл бұрын

I'm now tempted to go back to the trailers you mentioned here since I initially avoided them to evade spoilers, but with what was stated here, I've clearly underestimated some things and I now want to become more familiar with how my choices will impact the game. That said, ideally I would like to hopefully make the right set of decisions that'll let me properly stop both Asefrost and Hyzante. I'll be mostly going off instinct/my own beliefs unless there's something I really don't like (which might tempt a reload of an earlier save), but I hope I can make the right choices to stop Asefrost's invasion and Hyzante's oppression of the Rosellans are both matters that bother me so. Perhaps that's a little too idealistic on my end, but I'd like to take a path that tries to resolve both these issues. Also another thing that will certainly impact my time with the game is that I'm tempted to try two runs at once. This is mainly stemmed from me being unsure which set of transfer data to send over (do I send the Asefrost visit over or the Hyzante one?), but it kind of has tempted me to try and see if that first major choices changes a lot of things by sending over both sets of save data (assuming the full game allows me to do multiple data transfers from the second demo). Overall, assuming this game delivers on its promises (which I have great hope in), these will not be easy choices for me to make. Clicked on this video because I'm a huge FE fan and I remember you from the FE days of old lol. Do I regret learning more than I wanted? I guess not, because I've always enjoyed your videos and your style. But perhaps I should have been more cautious. Oh well. I guess I would have guessed that a war might break out eventually. Seems inevitable in these types of games xD Regarding those 3 characters, based on what you've analyzed from the trailers, I would guess that you'd lose or gain certain characters based on your choices. I don't want any spoilers if that's true or not, I just wanted to state my thoughts for the record so that I can evaluate them later after playing. As for the style, I'm not sure that I like the potential to lose your hard earned, well trained characters mid way through the game. In 3H, you knew what you were getting into when you chose a house/route. You picked Dimitri, Edelgard or Claude at the start with no expectations to recruit the other main Lords. Yet, I can't help but think back to the disappointment people felt when they failed to keep Edelgard and thus lost both her and Hubert (and accidentally went to SS instead of CF without warning). Or when people made Flayn their dancer without knowing you'd lose her if you pick CF instead of SS. These surprise unit loses aren't fun and they piss off fans who didn't expect it. So I'd probably rather not lose my well trained units that I've put time and effort into training. As for the characters themselves, I'm glad that Serenoa has full voice acting (I'm looking at you, Byleth). Frederica reminds me of Claude, with his goal of eliminating prejudice/discrimination: her with the Roselle and Claude with the Almyran people. Roland reminds me of a Camus by design alone but his attitude is more like Dimitri: the seemingly naive prince who wants to do good but doesn't always know the way to achieve such, and likely ends up along his own path to do right by things. Also, if his homeland was invaded by a foreign army, then he's also similar to Dimitri again. Benedict reminds me more of Edelgard, mainly for the questionable tactics/morals you'd probably have to make. This is interesting to me, because according to your video, the invading nation is Aesfrost, which is the homeland of Frederica. So from this perspective, Benedict (from our home nation) is using questionable morals but as the defending nation against the aggressor. In which case, he's more like a scheming Yuri or Claude rather than Edelgard. The desert land of Hyzante seems a bit like the Church of Seiros, but it also has people within their nation who don't support their harsh policies and want meaningful change as well. I just hope that there are no Agarthan types in this game, because I prefer morally grey morality and the Agarthans were a bit too cliche and not subtle for my personal tastes.
@LinkKing72 жыл бұрын
Well, I won't say much in the interest of not implying what you may or may not be right or wrong about, but let's just say that this video was pre-release and I didn't know what I know now after 100%'ing the game and leave it at that 😜

I would honestly hate having to part with any of the characters since I already got so attached to all of them, but if I had to choose I guess I would give Roland up before Frederica or Benedict. Now if I were to be forced to choose Benedict or Frederica I don't think I could make that decision. Because of this I keep hoping there is a balanced alternative where you can go around the idea by just giving each character. a bit of leeway over time.

For many RPGs, I would look up the playable characters. This one has me questioning who will leave, and who will stay. I notice how after every battle, it says something about Serenoa's conviction being strengthened, and I am not sure what that is for. One RPG that had a system similar to this, was Radiata Stories. You could recruit these people to fight with you, until that split between the humans and non-humans.

First I am probably going to do run where i choose which ever feels right to me. And then i am probably going to do all in simp run for all the other 3 protagonists. I wonder if they can vote againts their own conviction like for example roland voting for utility when he has option to go for morality or will they always go with their signature conviction? In the first demo on chapter 7 Roland wanted to relinquish him self so i am not sure how that will turn out on all in Roland path if what he wants kicks him out of the party. Anways i can't wait for this game only a week left...

Well, Roland relinquishing himself in that instance would actually go along with his own conviction, since it would morally be the right thing to do in order to preserve the lives of the many others! we did see in the trailers of the characters how Rolands morality ( probably should have been about ethics) was if he succumb to dark deeds or not to reclaim his lands - poison/assassinations etc, not a great legacy or something to start up a new king with (in my opinion). Benedict about might&diplomacy - in one of the trailer he suggest flooding everyone so they cant escape, but that also means killing innocent ofc. Fredericas "liberty for all" literally leads to chaos, especially in war time, yes lets free every slave, lets try diplomacy with the people who just beheaded your king, let all their soldiers go home- like they wont return with a bigger army?!. She also seems to be against the religion of the world we are in...etc etc. Its chaos. Or will be.

I know it's asking for a lot, but it'd be awesome if there's a way to achieve a satisfying conclusion in the game despite not fully (and intentionally) dedicating yourself to just one of the three ideals but rather acting on your genuine feelings on the matter which can lead to all kinds of mixes of the three paths. basically, Fire Emblem Fates' 3rd route which is neither black or white

I’ve already pre-ordered the game, and am greatly looking forward to it. I’m a Fire Emblem fan, and this is just the game to keep me busy until Three Hopes comes out. After playing both versions of the demo, I’d want to say I believe Glenbrook should be the nation to win the war. However, I’m not really sure if my choices will lead me there or not. Both choices I made in the demo were liberty choices. To go to Hyzante, and to not surrender Prince Roland. I chose the former because they’re the lesser of two evils, seeing what Gustadolph does to the Glenbrook and its royal family. And I chose the latter because it turns out you don’t need to use the fire traps to win. And the game will even acknowledge you for doing so. But yeah. I’m gonna play this game honestly and make my decisions based on what I genuinely feel would be best rather than trying to show favoritism towards one conviction or another. Guess we’ll just have to see where that gets me.
@LinkKing72 жыл бұрын
I think it'll be interesting to see how perspectives on everything changes as the plot unfolds. I sense Glenbrook is going to have some skeletons in it's closet at some point too, and everyone is some shade of evil rather than a true shade of good, which is an excellent thing! I'm making my choices based on gut feeling too so it'll be funny to see where the wave takes all of us!
@blueshadeseraphim69262 жыл бұрын
@@LinkKing7 So to update you on what happened once I actually got the game, it appears the conviction that I leaned towards the most was liberty. Followed VERY closely by morality, and with utility in dead last. My path led me to freeing the Roselle, however I’m also gonna do the Golden Route as I desperately wanted to see Gustadolph be held accountable for his crimes. All in all? It’s a pretty great game. My only complaint is how New Game + is even harder than a normal new game, which doesn’t really appeal to me since I wanted to burn through the combat sections and get straight to making new choices, but oh well. Still a pretty good game.
