Humility can be defined as the absence of pride, just as darkness is the absence of light. We cannot become more humble by focusing on humility, as it becomes a source of pride when we believe we have achieved it. C.S. Lewis describes humility not as thinking less of ourselves, but as thinking of ourselves less. With that definition in mind, the Bible has much to say about seeing ourselves in proper perspective. Holding the biblical perspective humbles us. Humility increases when we are willing to be humbled by God, circumstances, and others. Our sinful natures do not want to be humbled. We tend to protect our pride as though it were our best friend, but pride gets in the way of our relationship with God. He will work with us when we desire humility, but the development of humility will be painful. We can't pray for humility it is something we must strive for. Isaiah 57:15 The God who is highly honored lives forever. His name is holy. He says, “I live in a high and holy place. But I also live with anyone who turns away from their sins. I live with anyone who is not proud. I give new life to them. I give it to anyone who turns away from their sins. James 4:6 But he giveth more grace. Wherefore he saith, God resisteth the proud, but giveth grace unto the humble. 7Submit yourselves therefore to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you. 8Draw nigh to God, and he will draw nigh to you. Cleanse your hands, ye sinners; and purify your hearts, ye double minded. 9Be afflicted, and mourn, and weep: let your laughter be turned to mourning, and your joy to heaviness. 10Humble yourselves in the sight of the Lord, and he shall lift you up. 2 Chronicles 7:14 If my people which are called by my name shall humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways then I will hear from heaven and forgive their sins and heal their land. Humility is antithetical to Prideful arrogance . The Judaizers/Scribes and Pharisees (Matthew 23) perfectly demonstrate the rejection of His Free and Never Deserving Gift - made available through His PERFECT work of Redemption - by instead looking to their Perseverance in Performance (works) as their Metric for Everlasting destination . Satan (the father of all Prideful arrogance/father of lies) is their father , and is father to all who Reject His Free and Never Deserving Gift in favor of purely fallible Filthy Rags righteousness that seems to "come in some other way" by means of self righteouness . But Kingdom entrance is predicated on the Imputation of His PERFECT Gift of His Righteousness , totally apart from Taking Any Credit (Boasting) . Your entire works righteousness scheme duplicates the heart of the Judaizers/unregenerate Scribes and Pharisees (Matthew 23) . It is anything BUT "humility" .

I thought it was going to be unbelief, stop doubting and believe on Jesus Christ alone for salvation. Self righteousness is very dangerous also because when you are self righteous everyone else is aware of this except the person who is being self righteous. 😮

Personally, i believe things surrounded fornication and same sex fornication could be a close second. The terms have become "immorality" in modern day churches. God, through the mosaic law, has established these sins as deadly sins. Its not justifiably to be regarded as just immoral for men to be with men and vice versa in women. It's past that, its vile, unseemly, which sets the tone God has towards the lifestyle and acts.

We can also have our pet sins. Like there is a truck in town that has a big sign in the back that says “Adam and Eve NOT Adam and Steve. Or someone’s pet sin may be abortion so they call all people who have had abortions murders. When in fact we are all murders…Matt 21 “You have heard that it was said to those of old, ‘You shall not murder, and whoever murders will be in danger of the judgment.’ 22 But I say to you that whoever is angry with his brother without a cause shall be in danger of the judgment. I don’t think it’s good to have pet sins because we end up condemning ourselves…Romans 2:3 And do you think this, O man, you who judge those practicing such things, and doing the same, that you will escape the judgment of God? Thank God that He took away the sin of the world so we don’t have to judge people and end up condemning ourselves. Just like Jesus, He didn’t tell the woman caught in adultery that she was a whore, but He said neither do I condemn you…

You sure downplay sin. Isaiah 59:7 Their feet rush into sin; they are swift to shed innocent blood. They pursue evil schemes; acts of violence mark their ways. You also left out Jesus said to the woman caught in adultery: Go and sin no more.

All who are looking instead to their Perseverance in Performance (works) till death to merit and DESERVE His Free and Never Deserving Gift are stealing all the Glory due to the Spotless Lamb . What does it matter? Since you believe in OSAS, you can commit all the sins of the flesh, fornication, adultery, lie, steal, murder, disobey his commandments, walk in darkness, never repent or confess your sins, and heaven will still be your home, correct!! So, what does it matter if it is overlooked? But according to GES, what can't be OVERLOOKED is walking in the light, Live by the Spirit and obey his commandments, for if you do those, you are a works salvationist, trying to earn your salvation and you are lost!!!! So, according to GES you can walk in darkness after you have been supposedly saved, 24/7/365 never repent or confess, and you will still be saved, but if you walk in the light you are lost for trying to earn your salvation......

That's clearly what you're affirming , if words convey meaning . But that does not fit John 3:16 & Ephesians 2:8-9 .
