Canonically,Ryu has been known to be a drinker in the Street Fighter Universe as well. He's been portrayed as such in an early/mid 90s manga in the boom of the fighting game craze.

Or in Japanese, amazake, which has such a low alcohol content that it's considered safe to give to children (it's sold to their human friend Hazel, who is at most thirteen), and sometimes no alcohol whatsoever. If you want to include assist Trophies, Alucard not only has canonically drank alcohol but if you consider the Netflix adaptation of Castlevania to be canon in Smash Bros. Alucard went through a phase in his early 20s following the death of his father where he became a low functioning alcoholic that drowned his sorrows in wine.

figured this would be most if not all of the Smash Bros. Characters; When you mentioned Mega Man as being a robot and then moved on, I immediately thought "but what about R.O.B?" and in the scene with Charmander that "confirms" Charizard, would also do the same for Squirtle and Ivysaur for Pokemon Trainer as well as Pikachu and by extension Pichu.

@ maybe, but I’m pretty sure the characters used in it are the game versions of the characters, (or at least, they are based off the game versions). One way I think this is backed up by, is how some characters are presented in Snash. For example, anime Dedede is villain, but Smash bros Dedede is heroic ( as seen in subspace), like the game versions. But really, you do make a fair point.
