Michelin City Pro 80/90-14 on the Sherman V2 (wide rim)! Fantastic all around, highlight: sticks to the road with grippy rubber and no bounce at all, precise and predictable turning, very high stability, no wobble at any speed, great on road, gravel, competent off-road. Downsides: - harder rubber requires tuning the tire pressure to a sweet spot to do its magic and get great comfort. - on the Sherman V2 wide rim: requires more physical commitment to turn as the tire keeps the wheel upright (bonus: reduces pedal dipping dramatically) Overall great choice for the Sherman although I expected very nimble from forum posts: a happy accident anyway.

Avon Viper Stryke AM63 and Michelin Pilot Street 2 are my favorite 80/90-14 tires so far. The Contiscoot or angel pirelli are runner ups. 🤙 I’ve been trying so many tires in this size category, would love to hear and try other good options.

V11 InMotion installed a Shinko 241 14" x 2.75 excellent tire. Off road grip in soft sand, loose dirt, stones and gravel feels like tarmac. Absolute blast with this new tire. It's a tight fit only the pin hairs rub but easily cut off. Also cut the stand as it rubbed on the tire edges. Ended up removing the stand as it locks in the grooves in the tire and causes a overload when turning on. Safer to just have no stand. Can see videos on my channel.

Indeed, knobby tires make a huge difference on maneuverability. But like you said, the grip is much better off road and also on poorly maintained roads. It'd be great to find a new tire pattern that performs well on all surfaces.
@SwitchUpYt3 жыл бұрын
I found a knobby tire improves it's manoeuverability once the treads have worn down after around about two or three weeks. It’s still not as good as the street tire but it’s almost as good and then the off road improvements a massive as well.

I also installed Heidenow k66 tires on my v11 this time. Due to the it's tight fender, I take a size of 80/80-14 During the test ride, I was very surprised by the smooth ride and easy steering. I still think Kenda 262/ Cst navi tire is great for high speed straight riding but not for carvings and steep turns. Above all, the K66...I think the ability to filter out small vibrations on the uneven road surface is excellent and peforms well on most of road conditions.

Brilliant topic. Converted my mten3 into tubeless. Easy doing and much better solution. I used a MT32 valve, being very short and not angled. Refill of air is hasslefree, no valve extension needed. Holds my 100+ kg at 45 psi for more than 600 km as of today. Definitely all of my wheels will be converted as soon as tireaction will be required.

the Chao yang H666 was my favorite but no longer in production for 18x3 size. a similar but a bit heavier, gripper and more durable alternative is the Kenda k340a(sherman street). but not as nimble as the h666. the k262(sherman knobby) is a ultra stable and super grippy tire but not nearly as fun to carve on VS the other two tires

One thing to note is that heavier tires will impact the acceleration and drain the battery significantly (1 kg extra tire weight is much more than 1 kg rider weight, because the tire is spinning)
@sherryandpeter3 жыл бұрын
Shinko 244 2.75x14 compared to Stock tire on a MSP. Pros, very heavy and strong tire, very stable, lots of traction, high pedal clearance, eliminates speed wobbles. Cons, tones of trimming required to make tire fit (remove side knobs flush to the side of the tire), drastically reduced range, rocks and sticks like to stick in tread and get forced through wheel well, takes much more effort to perform turns at higher speeds. Wheel runs hotter, more likely to overheat in climbs. Not sure if I would put it on again. There is a lot of give and take with this tire.
@mcfly_ev2 жыл бұрын
Next time just grind the sides down on a curb. You only need to take off a few mm. Maybe 15-20 seconds per side. Using the shave down vs cutting you don’t accidentally overdo it. Shave s bit, get on, still rubs, shave a bit more.

Hello, very informative! In your opinion, what tire can you recommend as a universal for street and light offroad? I'm riding about 80% on street and from time to time on forest paths. It is especially interesting how it will behave in autumn or spring weather, for example, wet fallen leaves, or slightly dirty sidewalks or melted snow. will it skid suddenly on such surfaces? Perhaps you have faced such. I am looking for an S22 stock tire to replace. Interesting City Grip 2 tire, will it suit for such surfaces?

Having an Inmotion V8F, I was checking which tire to put on it when it will be time to change it. So I was looking on the bike's side, but should I consider motorcycle's tires instead? With a tire like 16×2.125, what kind of ETRO should I consider? My use case is more on the city commuting side than anything else, with around a third consisting of gravels and dirt road.

An 18x3 tire is not really 18" in diameter, it is closer to 20". Not sure why they call it an 18, maybe it based upon the mean diameter of the inner tube that the tire uses.

Just a ⚠ WARNING! If you put the CST 186 tire on to the V11 you should remove the stand or modify it so it can't touch the tire, and can't get stuck in it. If it gets stuck in between the tire profile, and you turn on the wheel you will burn the motherboard, and potentially damage the motor.

Hello! What tire do you recommend for Begode Extreme? I just mounted a Heidenau K38 on my new Begode Extreme because i didn’t like the stock tire on asphalt. @@mr_wrongway Any particular model of the Shinko? I’m starting to believe that the rim is too wide on the Extreme causing it to give the tire a too flat profile and that makes the EUC unwilling to lean enough.
