GM makes 340,000 of them every year and exports about 80,000 to 31 countries. They’re made in GM’s plant in Arlington, Texas, which is said to be the most profitable assembly plant in the world. Toyota is the worse polluter. "Hamilton cites last year’s EPA report on emissions and fuel economy trends which concluded that from 2012 through 2017, the five years in which the combined EPA Greenhouse Gas Emissions and NHTSA CAFE regulations have been in place, “Of these thirteen manufacturers [Honda, Mazda, Hyundai, Subaru, Kia, Nissan Mitsubishi, VW, BMW, Toyota, Mercedes, Ford, GM, FCA] all except for Toyota improved CO2 emissions and fuel economy.”...Hamilton explains how this happened: Their pick-up trucks are less efficient than most of their competitors and they are far behind the industry leaders when it comes to electrification - their plug-in Prius can go a mere 25 miles on a charge before turning over to the admittedly efficient gasoline engine, and they offer a low-volume fuel cell vehicle only in California. They aren’t currently selling any other EVs across the US. jalopnik.com/toyota-isnt-the-environmentally-friendly-one-1839969117

Another interesting thing about the Sequoia is that you can drive around on dry pavement in "4H" without damaging the 4wd system. That's because it's got a torsen center limited slip differential, like a Land Cruiser. That's why there is a button to lock the center diff. It's pretty cool because unlike the other full sized suvs in this class that have 4 auto modes, it has a full time awd setting. So normally torque is split 50/50%, where the rest are like 10/90% rear

Norm T that’s because you’re listening to consumer reports... they lost so much credibility in the last 10 years since they combine infotainment reliability with mechanical reliability and they rate new BMW’s and Audi’s highest in class for reliability lmao. Just look at the resale value of these cars, there’s a reason why the 4Runner holds on to most of its resale value while other vehicles plummet.
@normt54634 жыл бұрын
@@Darksyne all luxury brands drop very fast in value. Lexus loses it value just like any other luxury vehicle. So I wouldn't believe the wive's tale about Lexus holding their value. Residual values are set by the banks and the food chain of auction and dealerships just play along to make as much money as they can out the consumers. Edmunds long term test of the Lexus GS loosing over 1/3 of it's value from MSRP. "Resale and Depreciation: We accumulated 20,940 miles on our 2013 Lexus GS 350. Edmunds' TMV® Calculator valued the vehicle at $47,431 based on a private-party sale. The market did not seem to support this price, as CarMax offered us $40,000 and the best we could muster from a private partywas $41,000. This made for 30-percent depreciation from our paid price of $58,377. We were disappointed
@Darksyne4 жыл бұрын
Norm T so you’re agreeing with my point on higher ranked luxury cars by biased review organizations may not be the best cars to own? This is why I’m making the point on the 4Runner being a great SUV. The only reason it ranks lower is because it’s using a decade old drive train so of course newer cars will ride better...

They both look amazing but I'd only consider the Sequoia if I had a family...

My 18 4Runner beats my old 14 wrangler sport in every way. Rear locker, better traction modes, towing and off road performance are overall better. Both trucks had the same OME spring upgrade with Biltstein shocks and TKO2s. My 4 runner hasn’t broken down 6 times in two years and required about $6000 in warranty repairs either. (Radiator, valves, brakes, oil pump, some electrical issue, better than my 12 Jeep that needed and engin rebuild at 30k due to some defect)

For $6-7K you can get a super charger installed on that 4Runner and increase the horsepower to 350 (v 381 Sequoia) and have a vehicle that weighs 1k+ pounds less.

I actually have the Army Green 4Runner. And honestly there's just so many things that make this the perfect SUV/truck above anything else. 1. Obviously the color. Best TRD Pro color of all the years imo. 2. It just looks so aggressive. 3. This year got a small, but needed tech update. No large iPad screen or cumbersome interface menu. 4. It's a simple old school SUV (body on frame) that drives like a truck. 5. Reliability. It's a Toyota. Enough said. And this gen has been around for a decade now. And not that you would, but this is top 5 when it comes to resale value as well.

YES! The first words were “I’m Yuri. I’m Jakub. And we’re going for a drive!” None of that other BS you had at the beginning for a couple videos. No more of that. Keep the intro the same dudes! Love the videos

Oh my god how jealous that you guys have those awesome SUVs. 4Runner imported in Germany costs like 50000-70000 €

we are jealous you have autobahns
@jeremystig984 жыл бұрын
@@himalayapatel2052 Oh well if you knew how much taxes we pay to keep the Autobahn safe for highspeed travel every year. I can life without it. I usually cruise at 87mph or 140kmh. But we all pay the same taxes despite how fast we are driving.
@fabianherrmann63984 жыл бұрын
@@himalayapatel2052 True, but you end up in traffic jams just as often. But I will still fight to keep the autobahn as a piece of driving culture as it is. There are so many hippies and snowflakes in office and the public sphere in Germany right now who want to limit and regulate every little thing about live.

I just bought a 1997 Toyota 4runner. I love it. The trunk window is broken but I will get that working soon. But after watching this I want the sequoia because I can fit more passengers. Let me know what you think of this?

My wife has the AG TRD Pro 4Runner, we love it! We have changed the headlights and taillights to Morimoto LED’s which kinda brings it into this century😂😊. That being said I will keep my LC200, but they are both an amazing combo!

My buddy has a 2016 4Runner and I have a 2005 Durango limited with the Hemi. I love the capability of the 4Runner and he's jealous of the power of the Hemi. When the 4Runner gets a hybrid engine with electric for the low range--I'm selling my nonexistent children to get it. That natural 6 cylinder is the worst thing about that capable beast. I am secretly in love with the Sequoia.
@Hobinator173 жыл бұрын
There's a very reputable brand that makes superchargers for the 4runner. Magnuson, you should tell your buddy to look into them.
