Love my DF64V. Excellent espresso with the stock burrs and still allows me to brew french press or pour over few times a year for visitors who prefer that.

I currently have a Silenzio but really want a DF64 or 83 for the ability change burrs and try new flavor profiles. Would it be worth it to upgrade to one of these 2 machines or would the results not be drastic enough to justify buying something in this price range? Instead buying something in the 1-2k range?

Brilliant, thank you so much. Subscribed. Im torn between the DF64V and the Gen2. I drink mainly espresso. Do you feel theres a difference in the cup between the 2?

V not e versatile for drip and espresso. Gen 2 great for just espresso but can totally do both no prob. Tough decision but gen 2 great

What 64mm burrs would you recommend for a less clarity focused traditional big bodied high texture espresso?

Might end up getting a DF64 V2 for Espresso only. I have a grinder with the SSP HUs already, could you tell me whether the lab sweet for espresso would be a good thing to try, and how they differ in taste/cup profile? Thanks
@portakeeper Жыл бұрын
The lab sweet, they are very difficult to dial in. Easier for pour over. I do like them but at the same time don't recommend them if it is your only grinder. MP and lab sweet are similar in several ways. the sweet burrs are much more difficult to dial on espresso being such a small burr.

Just ordered the V5 model. Not used it. Should i return it and wait for the gen 2 to pop up for sale?
@portakeeper Жыл бұрын
Thats up to you. Hard for me to make that decision. The V5 and Gen 2 grind the same. Gen 2 will be a bit less messy. Typically the Gen 2 costs more. Just do whatever fits your budget and lifestyle. Both are nice!

Why does the motor need to be running for adjusting the grinder grinding size?
@portakeeper Жыл бұрын
Since the burrs are flat, when you adjust finer, there might be a few grounds stuck in there and it wedges the two burrs together.

How do the df64 e and p hold up in the line up?
@portakeeper Жыл бұрын
We are no longer selling them. While they are a great grinder they were less popular
@ShayanGivehchian Жыл бұрын
@portakeeper interesting. Any particular reason as why they weren't popular ? Or was it just they weren't marketed properly
@portakeeper Жыл бұрын
@@ShayanGivehchian marketed fine. People would do large adjustments without the motor running, or swap burrs and not know how to re-zero properly. I still have mine. Use all the time. Never had a single issue
