The only thing I dislike about Beyond is that if you try to use it outside of making a burger- it still tastes like a burger lol. I like to combine Impossible meat with Beyond hot Italian sausage to make meatballs! I add Just Egg, breadcrumbs, FYH parm, and seasonings and fry them up! Usually for meatball parm heros, but that’s a once in a while meal- costs a small fortune! haha

I haven't tried Beyond, but it doesn't matter how they taste test it -- money will always be used by a non-vegan, anyway, until the system is replaced. It's a great meat substitute, so people should buy that instead of actual meat... All animal use is to be banned soon after the system change, so all animal products/meats are going to be banned -- my real-life protector told me they stopped all animal kiIIing back in 2016 so all the meats they seII now are left-over meats they kept frozen since 2016!

Same!!! The only bad part about it is that I always feel like they gave me the wrong burger because it tastes so damn much like the original whopper. I have to always compare it with my brother's non-vegan burger because I don't believe that it's not real meat haha.

My heart belongs to Beyond forever and ever hahaha. It's just meaty enough but not too realistic like Impossible. The Impossible heme taste is too real and makes me feel kind of sick lol. I'm too vegan now 😂🙊

I agree! Even though Impossible does taste more similar to meat, I have just come to love that distinct Beyond flavor they're known for. Plus Beyond's brats, italian sausages, etc. are fantastic!

It's true that, not everyone wants burgers or cheeses that taste exactly like actual meat and dairy products -- I'm very sensitive to bad or heavy or weird smeIIs/tastes (and I don't like products that are too heavy/hard on the stomach or things like BBQ sauce and most things that contain liquid smoke) and I prefer light meals/products that aren't too oily or greasy. I remember they once put a different cheese on my pizza that tastes and melts exactly like dairy cheese and, honestly, I ended up spitting it out and giving that pizza to someone else as I couldn't believe it was not dairy, but they said it was dairy free... I love the soy-based cheese they usually put on my pizza that I can tell it's not dairy, and it tastes amazing and it's the best cheese in the world (dairy products don't even compare to it as I always found dairy products bad-smeIIing and leaving a weird aftertaste that was just yucky) or the best cheese I've ever tried (there might be better ones I haven't yet tried) and, I feel the same way about burgers that taste or smell like actual meat -- I know I would be unable to eat them, because, even if the brand says they are 100% plant-based, I just can't believe it!

People don’t even know about the 365 burgers at Whole Foods (in similar packaging to beyond). I think they are very close to beyond but without all the saturated fats. And usually cheaper. I prefer old school black bean burgers, and try to make my own but when I can’t I will go for these.

Same. After being vegan for years I lost the taste for very meat like vegan burgers, I do prefer the bean patty but there are sometimes when I'm in the mood for a very meat like vegan burger.

I’ve made a “meatloaf” with Impossible burger and served it to non vegans with rave reviews! I definitely think Impossible is diverse as far as uses go, and is great to give a non vegan. I guess I haven’t tried the updated Beyond. I wasn’t a huge fan of the original version. Have you thought about doing a vegan hot dog taste test? I’d be curious what your ratings would be. 😊

I rarely eat vegan burgers but I've noticed a lot of fast food places don't really season the patties with salt because they taste like "nothing" when taking a bite and they usually use the beyond or impossible.

Most plant-based products are indeed extremely expensive/over-priced, and bio plant-based products are even more expensive. No wonder most people don't want to be on a plant-based diet, when they see those incredibly high prices... My food packages are over 300 doIIars every week, which is very expensive for something like food that should be very cheap/affordable!

​@@FrozenMermaid666 Substitutes are more expensive for a few reasons: they're newer so they have to spend a lot to scale before they can bring the prices down (note many products like beyond burgers and just egg have already gotten a lot cheaper than they used to be), they aren't subsidized like animal products are, and stores take advantage of them being healthier by marking them as specialty products and charging more. But I have faith that with more time going by and more competition, prices will continue to drop. As for nuts, they've always been that way, I think they're just hard to grow. At least peanuts are cheap

I miss old fashioned meatballs, been a vegan 6 yrs. If you are in Cleveland Michael Simon has a restaurant The B Spot, his plant based burger is fantastic. Also on the east coast Wegmans grocery stores make pea protein burgers with cracked pepper on them, so good.

I am a 48-Year Vegan and I've tired EVERY Commercially sold Vegan Burgers. The Original Beyond was tasty and I ate 4 per week. Then they changed the formula and the 2.0 version of Beyond tastes HORRIBLE to me because they added HEME and made it taste more like meat which is displeasing to a Vegan palate. I am here to tell you that the MOST NUTRITIOUS & DELICIOUS VEGAN BURGER is "Hillary's Fiesta Black Bean Veggie Burgers" - Hands Down the best tasting of all! Please Test Them

I’m listening to this while multi tasking and want to know what to buy but they keep throwing out different brand names that might not even be right. And when they do open taste tests they go over the ingredients which is helpful.

In case you're curious, some of the most well nourished people in the world are the vegan population in Loma Linda CA, in terms of longevity and other health measures (longer lived than omnivores in their community, and much longer lived than the American population as a whole).
