Comparing an 80 to a 90.....idk man. The F16 by design is pitch unstable. That's why the Viper IRL...has four on board computers. If the first 3 fail...SOP is to punch out and not risk landing on the last one...as a Viper driver told me. The Artic Camo is a killer for me. Not a big fan of camo let alone Artic. I mean ...I'm in Arizona! Lol. I have the 80 and got the LF / 56th Fighter group decals from Callie Graphics. She. .is awesome! Living about 12 miles from Luke AFB, the primary Viper and F35 training base for pilots and crews ...had to show some local love for the men and women out there. 😉 They are the best of the best!

For the Freewing 90mm, I would need to use the AR10360T to emulate your setup along with using airbrakes, a nose wheel steering gyro and afterburner, correct? That’s 10 channels per my math. The best RC channel on KZbin!

The afterburner can be tied into the throttle lead, but a 10 channel is necessary on the 90 if you want the steering gyro. It's helpful but not necessary here: bit.ly/AR10360TPlus

Regarding the 80mm thrust tube you used. Was it the 68mm or the 71mm version. Both are available via the link you provided. Great video as always Jon!! Edit: Just did my homework and now understand FSA just a little bit. I assume you went with the 68mm as it's 80% FSA of the 80mm fan. Yes?

Either one will work. 100% FSA will get you more thrust than stock and longer flight times. The reduced FSA will shorten flight times and improve thrust.

Either one will work. If you want more thrust at the cost of battery life, use the 91% version.

The design isn't unstable. It's the CG being used that causes the instability. Both of these jets use a similar CG to the full scale.

Not really sure what's up with eflite lately but they take forever to bring something actually new in the edf platform. It's either highwing releases or a same old edf with new colors and re-reverse thrust .. Freewing is really getting better with new releases and better quality Very very disappointed with Highwing Hobby lately..

I didn't see/hear anything in Jon's video that would have led me to think he was "throwing shade" at another channel. However, since you brought up that joke of a channel, I'll be happy to give my $0.02 on it! I AM a speed guy and still get 10x times the info from this channel than I do from RCPlaneReviewer. This may be hard to believe, but I just don't get much from watching a guy fly a plane in oval laps at 400' and yell smooth over and over.
