Interesting!! I have the original brush (name brand lol) and love it but I do love me some volume lol. Also can I just say, I LOVE the way you brush style your hair. It's so much easier and less time consuming than some that I've seen with all the sectioning and going piece by piece. Watching you is what inspired me to even try brush styling cause I'm more wavy curly like you and watching the other girls do it I was like no way am I taking that long to style my hair lol. And I can attest that your swing the curls around method actually does help and I'm doing it too now haha.

I'm disabled, and have limited mobility with unlimited pain. Suffice it to say, I also brush style like Courtney does. It may not turn out quite as defined as when done in a thousand sections, but it still gives great results. I do the crown area with a few more sections just because that area is naughty and needs more attention, and it's not difficult to reach. But I do the rest of my head first, much like the way Courtney does. Even if I didn't have pain and mobility issues, I still wouldn't want to spend so much time brushing each little section individually. Curly hair is already more work, and my goal is to have nice looking results with as little time and effort as possible. Work smarter, not harder!

I’ve always wondered why hair products in all categories makes us choose only one thing. I’ve always wanted them all. Defined, moisturized, volume, sleek, hydrating, etc. I think we all want big, bouncy and defined curls ❗️❗️❗️

I have a loose 2A-B wave pattern so the Define brush is better for me as it gives me bigger clumps. Smaller clumps get stringy on me. My hair is very long and I worried it might snag in my hair but it glides right through. I bought mine directly from Bounce Curl to support them, they deserve to benefit from developing this amazing brush, but also selfishly to make sure I was getting good quality bristles.

So it’s helpful to see the measurements as a reference point 👌🏻 The way Bounce Curl products smell is divine!!

Excellent video, Courtney; I admire your commitment to keeping variables etc as consistent as possible. Your measuring of products and using the same application and styling techniques each time really helps those of us coming along behind you who are learning what works or doesn't for our hair. I find it so easy to replicate your hair care techniques because you describe them well and you remove as much of the random luck factor as you can. I loathe brush styling as it's practised in most of the curly hair community because I'm too clumsy (and lacking in energy) for rewetting hair with a spray bottle, sectioning and clipping hair, applying 3 products to each section of hair and then brushing the products through to distribute the product and then again with tension to define the clumps - I much prefer the simplicity and effectiveness of your brush styling method and I think the great results you achieved speak for themselves 👍 Also, I didn’t realise the Bounce Curl brushes are blue, I’ve always thought they were mint green 🤯 Thanks for encouraging people to support, as much as they can, the small, women-owned businesses that are working to create innovative and quality products for curly hair; that's a good attitude to spread in the world.

I also have wavy hair very similar to your wave pattern, I have purchased both brushes not the knock offs and I find that my wavy hair does better with the defining brush vs the volume brush. The volume brush tends to make my hair stringy. But with that being said I’m playing around with using both on wash days. I use the volume brush for face framing pieces and the original for the rest. Thanks for all the knowledge you share in helping us in own curly/wavy journeys. ❤

Firstly, thank-you so much, I think you might be a mind reader, or really good at knowing what us curly/wavy girls need to see, which we know you do. I've had to wait a little while until I could afford a bounce curl brush, even though it's a lot, I do believe it's necessary because of the time saving and results it seems to give, so that's a win win. So coming back to boucecurl and seeing there are now 2 brushes, ahhhh, what to do, what to do! I found many videos to see them in action, and also some comparison lookie loo's too. However, they seem to be mostly on curlier/coilier hair than what I have, so it was making the decision harder. I came on here tonight, and I've been sent a god send, so thank you. I also love your fairness in testing, back to my science lessons at school, how can you get a true result otherwise. You also helped me decide to try the bounce curl products too. I've not been in love with what I have, and do want to try some of them, maybe one at a time, but I love love love the results they give. It's lovely to see the health of our hair and hair needs are at the front of this company's mind, they seem to really give us what we need, and in a concentrated form so they last too, with obvious results, it's lovely to see. I hate to make a comparison on your hair, because it's whatever makes you feel more beautiful, and what it does to your curls that you know intimately well. Also, both look amazing, I think it's clear to see you have treat your hair so well. I'm going to go with the original define brush myself when I can, I just love the thicker clumps, almost more old Hollywood glam, or clumpy shlumpy, lol! However, I have to say I'm changing my mind on a daily basis, so let's see. Fantastic video, you've helped me along my journey, I'm not at a comfortable wash day result myself yet, but I'm living in hope as I love my natural hair now, seeing what my hair strands can do all by themselves with a little help fills me with joy, and that's why we do it right ✋️ Lots of curly love, Amy

Volume brush is better for my hair, and it gives definition. However, I need to section my hair, brush out, and scrunch. Also, I can't use it as a detangler. I still need my tangle teaser brush to untangle and the bounce curl brush to style. I've received the best compliments since using the volume brush.

🐶🐶🐶 Your hair is always so beautiful! I have both of the Bounce Curl brushes and the Volume one does not give me more volume whatsoever but like you it does glide through easier. I have fine, medium density 2A-2B hair so maybe that's why I don't get any extra volume. I actually like the original Define brush better b/c I think the bigger clumps look better on me. I am going to try your hairspray application technique; we have a small bathroom and when I use hairspray it kind of coats everything and makes it somewhat sticky. Still learning great tips from you, thanks Courtney!

Your hair looks great with both brushes. Like you said, maybe smaller curl clumps with the volume brush, but not a big enough difference to buy the volume brush if you already have the original. I’ve seen other creators compare the brushes and have also noticed little difference. Since I don’t have either, if I were to purchase one I’d probably go with the volume brush. Being in Canada and having to pay in US dollars, plus the shipping it is just too expensive for me.

What does that mean when they said don’t use it as a wet brush but only a styling one? Did they mean we should detangle the hair with another brush before using it? Competition is said to make products better and cheaper, which benefits the bottom line buyer - me!! You're right the viral bursh is very unique. But grossly overpriced (almost $50 with shipping and tax). Regarding the independent female inventors, I would hope they recognize the difference between worth and value. And base the price on the subjective (want) and objective (need). If the Bounce Brush had been priced within reason, they would have kept more of the market to themselves and not the knock offs..... Capitalism greed catches all of us. Good video thank you. I really like that you spoke to the process of bringing a new product to market.
