I have a Nintendo Switch and it's great. However, I wanted to take advantage of the next gen systems so I picked up a Series S, which was the only system available at retail price. The thing for that's going to make the series S great for me is Game Pass. I basically skipped the last generation so I'm looking forward to playing Destiny, Destiny 2 and a host of other games I missed out on, plus whatever else comes out for the Series X/S. As mentioned in the video I want to work with the 1080p TV I have now and not have to upgrade to 4k TV or expensive audio system "to get my money's worth" from the system. In the future when the new Xboxes become more readily available and I'm feeling rich, I'll upgrade to a 4K TV and a Series X.

Makes total sense. For many that skipped last gen, it doesn't make a ton of sense to go all in on a system if it can be helped. Since Playstation is continuing with cross-gen games for another year or so, it's easy to get a PS4 Slim or PS4 Pro around the same price point for the Series S (you'll miss out on newer features, but at least you can see if you like it or not).

The one thing that I’m curious about is that do you think they’ll make an Xbox series X slim. I’ll be surprised if they do. I decided to go with the series X for the living room and a series S for the bedroom. They are both absolutely amazing consoles and game pass is incredible!

I decided to get the full fat Xbox Series X edition at launch. Glad I did because I have never seen it in stock since. I have a lot of physical games so needed the optical drive. I did get Series S at the start of 2021 just as a backup.

I picked up an used Xbox One original last year because that was all I could afford that time. It was making a fan noise so I sent it for warranty check and they offered a replacement for the same, so I asked if I can get it swapped with Xbox One X instead. And they only charged a small difference and gave me a mint condition Xbox One X. Series X is too expensive for me and Series S lacks the optical drive which is my preferred method for games as well as play DVD and Blu-ray discs.

I got my PS5 at my local best buy after camping all night on Wednesday night on 09/22/21 I arrived at 10:40 PM and waited all night into the morning until 7:30 AM, when they passed out tickets on 09/23/21 8:30 AM i walked out with my Disc version PS5. For me, camping all night with strangers, talking about the type of games we will play on the console ( making new friends to play with ) is part of the experience of camping for a video game console every couple years. People waiting in line, make an event out of it and even thought some people are more extreme than others ( there was a group of about 15 or more people that were smoking weed and drinking alcohol further up the front of the line. ) But the night went smooth without incident and there was no drama or fighting. Even though the drunk and high group of people had people they knew come at several points during the night and cut the line, everyone was fairly calm, being the rumored number of PS5 consoles were pretty high. 50 disc, 50 digital and 50 xbox series x. I didn't even open my PS5 box , since i got it! I'm waiting to buy a 4K HDTV on black Friday, so i can harness the power of my PS5 & most likely xbox series x, to their full potential. I'm in no rush to play my PS5, being i only have a 30" samsung 1080p HDTV i purchased from 2008 at CIRCUIT CITY! that's right, you read that right! That's how long i've had this TV! I'm surprised it worked this long! Samsung did send out a technician to replace a faulty capacitor that kept the tv from turning on from time to time. But ever since that service call, it's been working and that was back in 2013! You should invest or at least save up for a 4K HDTV so you can unlock your PS5's full potential. older HDTV's won't do the current generation of consoles justice. I just picked up an xbox series x today at a Fedex drop off at my local walgreens! I won a bid for $651.00 with tax and shipping, came to $704.43 So I'm set for the current generation of video game consoles for years to come! I will buy cross platform games for the xbox series x and buy exclusives for my PS5 But not before saving up for a 4K HDTV for this upcoming black Friday for both of them! Do you have a 4k 120 fps compatible HDTV for your xbox series x? if not, when do you plan on buying one? if you do have one, which one do you have and how much did you pay for it?

Yeah, the PS5 doesn't have that must have game yet, in my opinion so waiting isn't really holding you back from anything. I got Ratchet and Clank when it came out and I personally don't feel it was worth the asking price. It's a fun game and it looks great, but it wasn't very long so I had a bit of buyer's remorse on that one. Like me, my main is the Series X (I just love the controller) and the PS5 for their exclusives. I also have a PC, which makes the Xbox even better for me. With regards to TVs, it really depends. I personally went with a Sony X90J because of the image processor it has. It does NOT have VRR, which is why most that have a Series X go with either the LG C1 or the TCL 6-Series. The key is to look for TVs that have HDMI 2.1, support 120hz at 4k, and HDR. If it support additional items, awesome, but the higher the price tag normally will be. I paid $1200 for my TV, the C1 and Series 6 are both on sale right now thru Best Buy's early black friday deals. Still pricey, but not as pricey, lol.

Depends. Do you plan to keep the One S? Do you plan to keep playing those disc games after you upgrade? Do you plan on buying more discs in the future? If you plan to keep the One S, the Series S makes sense because you'll still be able to play your games on the One S. If you are getting rid of the One S, then it'll depend if you want to keep playing the discs you have and if you plan on buying more. If yes, the Series X would make more sense. Hope that helps.

I have been a xbox user since the original the one with the huge controllers. And I love the xbox brand . I gave my kids my one x . I got a series s due to lack of availability of the series x.And I'm an old school guy I don't like to buy my consoles online. I love the way the series s runs games especially the fast loading times and the great frame rates. Warzone aswell as AC Valhalla run so much better on the series s compared to the xbox one x.And again another great video. What games do you play?

I purchased a 2TB seagate external hard drive will there be any problem with that working with the series s??? legitimate question, Haven't bought or owned a console since the 360 And decided to get one this year...the fortnite/rocket league bundle and the ultimate game pass, everything I've seen so far says it's a pretty good deal only Question I have is storage, that external hard drive will work correct???

It should be fine. I haven't seen any issues with external Seagate HDDs. As an aside, if a game is a Series only game (meaning it's not cross-gen), then it'll need to be on the internal drive to work, not the expansion. Hope that helps.

If the used One X is $240, that's not a bad deal. However, I would check to see what hardware revision it is as the original versions had heat issues around the HDMI port and most of those consoles are well outside of warranty. Depending on the 70 games, it might be the better deal overall though regardless.

The One S isn't being made anymore so the only way to get one is used. Get ready for this, used prices for that console are still around the $300 mark. With it being fairly old tech at this point and the only way it will be able to keep up is via cloud streaming, I wouldn't suggest getting it unless you're a collector.

It really depends on what you're going to do. Warzone plays fine on the Series S and at the rate COD is going, 5 years it'll look very different. However, if you are more forward thinking and want to be more future proof, the Series X will make more sense.

A Series S would be a pretty big upgrade from the OG Xbox One. Based on what I've seen, Halo runs on an Xbox One, but it's taking a lot of downgrades so if you say with the X1, be prepared for that.

I still believe the Series S is the best value in gaming right now. With all of the chip shortages going on right now and price gouging happening, it can make things difficult. It's not impossible to get a Series X or PS5 at retail price, but it takes a lot of effort and time.

Unlike the Series S or the One X, with the Series X you can "use the Game Pass in all of it's glory" with the best settings. Trust me, FH5 and MFS on the Series X looks like the best games ever in terms of pure graphics. Gears 5 on the Series X can use Ray Tracing, thing that the Series S can't do. But I get your point.

You'll see a huge difference moving from the One S to the Series S. If you went with the Series X, you'd see an even bigger difference. Ideal would be the Series X to take advantage of the TV. Availability will be the main issue, but the Series S is a great option as well.

There are series s at gamestop right now. And they gave me 325 for my one x. So I got a new system plus 25 dollars toward vangaurd. Yes the resolution was better. But the series s is a much more capable beast and it will be support for a lot longer then the one x. Two days ago gamestop was offering 50 dollars above advertised trade in value. Check and see what you can get. The series s is a great console. And I have a gaming pc and ps5, but honestly the series s feels just as next gen.

Trust me go for the 2TB expansion drive. You go for the 1TB you'll be needing more storage almost immediately. 1TB is just not enough. Your best bet is to buy one used off of eBay or Facebook marketplace. I bought mine off of eBay for $300 so it would not be more then the console itself but the same price of the console itself. Still a whole hell of a lot but it's better then buying a 1TB then immediately needing more storage anyway. Then you'd have to buy either another 1TB expansion card or then get the 2TB and then your definitely breaking the bank.

Yeah, it really depends on how you want to use it. IF you are using it across multiple consoles like I have, 2TB would be ideal. It's def a hard sell on the value with the price point almost as much as a new console.

My opinion……. If you have a badass pc, get a Series S, and use the money you save for Game Pass Ultimate. You’ll be able to use Gamepass for pc and console. It’s nice and portable and you’ll be available to play the latest games.

In that case, I'd actually go with a Series S. If you're not planning to take advantage of the Series X, it doesn't make sense to get one. Maybe down the road if you want to upgrade, it may make more sense. However, at this point, I'd say a Series S.

Unfortunately, no. It's a digital only console and for the physical games to play, the DRM is on the disc. The Series S also cannot use an external optical drive so it's currently unable to play any physical games.

@@BusyDadGaming I think you are mistaken by his question. It sounds like Virgil has digital games on an external SSD. In that case, the games will still run on the same external SSD on the Xbox series S. However; you will not have access to any of the enhanced features such as faster frame rates or loading times until you install the game on the internal SSD of the series S (or the memory expansion SSD packs designed for the Xbox Series S/X).

Well I have been using the S for a month now, the internal SSD and expansion card is required to play only the X/S optimised games off it but rest all games even with remastered ‘ upgraded FPS boost can be run perfectly fine on an external SSD like Samsung T7band I see currently with my S and LG C1 OLED and btw the upscaling on OLED TVs like C1 with Freesync On, VRR, ALL 4K set at 120 hz VRR freesync works perfect on S, Forza 5 and HALO INFINITE looks and plays amazing on it

I have a PS4 pro and played the Series S. Forza 4 was pretty cool on the S. Sports games like Fifa, The show etc play and look pretty much the same as the PS4 pro. If you are mostly into sports games and racing games the S probably isn't worth it. If you are someone interested in trying some x box exclusive games with game pass it would be a good console for you. Or a good second console. If you have a base PS4, the S will be a nice improvement. I don't see that much between the pro and the S. If you have a pro now get a PS5, X or just wait til mid gen.

FIFA has current-gen updates that aren't available on last-gen consoles, so that's something to keep in mind. Outside of 3rd party titles, it really comes down to which exclusive games do you want to play and that will be a massive factor in which console to go after.

I'd personally go with the Series S unless you want/need physical media. Otherwise, may want to look for a good used deal on a 1X. Make sure to get the latest revisions as the initial releases had heatsink issues.

Yeah, Microsoft had a bug and it showed in stock, but you couldn't add it to cart. There a link that still shows it, but doesn't add to cart. For many, get the console that makes the most sense for them. For me, it's a Series X, for others it is a Series S.

GTA 6 probably isn't going to released until possibly 2024 so if your just buying the console exclusively for that game I'd just wait. If your buying it for other games I'd get the series s with game pass. Easier to get your hands on and then when gta is out on a few years you could always upgrade to a ps5 or series X

GTA 6 is a long way off based on rumors and reports so I'm not sure on that front. GTA Trilogy is coming out soon and I'm willing to bet it'll run just fine on the Series S. The Series X is more future proof, there's no denying that. However, if you don't currently own a console and you don't game a ton, I would suggest the Series S and buy the GTA Trilogy digitally.

I'm a user of PlayStation and I've never had an Xbox, but I always wanted an Xbox because of the exclusive titles like Halo, Gears of war, and Gamepass, while I'm waiting for the PS5 to be available at a good price. I think I'll go with the Series S, it's very cheap where I live and has tons of great games. I think it's a great console to start on the Xbox ecosystem.

It's a great introduction and gives you a ton of games to play right off the bat without having to spend a lot of money to do so. The PS5 is a great machine, but it's been quite a drought recently (I'm glad Feb is here to finally give us a few games).

The Series S is easier to get, no question. However, that doesn't mean you can't get a Series X. It will take way more time and effort. Regardless, get which one you want and just understand the amount of time and effort will vary depending on which one you go after.

The Series X and PS5 are pretty hard to get. Not impossible, but very difficult. I saw the Walmart restock for the PS5 the other day and the disaster that turned into, so it doesn't look like retailers are getting any better at this. The One X used is usually More than the Series S at this point. Chip shortages have driven prices up on used gear as a result.

Wow. The Xbox Series S looks Nice, Slim, Travel Size !!!! For me. I got the PS5 Disc Version at LAUNCH DAY upgrading from my PS4 PRO... Depending on the game and how old it is, it could go either way. Newer games used are usually still pretty high until they that age and drop a ton. Digital games can during sales or via companies that buy them in bulk.

I get sick of hearing about "one x superior graphics to series S". it's 30 fps, 4K means nothing when it's 60+FPS vs 3 FPS. People are advocating a One X with SSD upgrade, might as well buy a series X, it'll be cheaper, no need to open up and solder and even second hand is under warranty

In short. Do not buy the One X. Buy the Series S. If you've never owned an Xbox. It's the same price as a Nintendo Switch and if your TV is capable. The Series S can run Certain games 1440p @120fps. It's a sleeper. I own both. The Series X for me and the S for me Daughter's. P.s. we have 23 games downloaded on our internet SSD on the Series S. No external HDD or Expansion Card. Serval of them being COD Vanguard (120fps), Back 4 Blood, Aliens Fire Team Elite, and the Minecraft's and Roblox.
