I've ridden 2 older models and I've gotta say it's a bike made for everyone not just beginners, unless you have daily commutes that exceed 60mph frequently. I was also impressed by it's size. It's a long bike with a seat height on the taller side. Far larger than the MSX125 and more practical.

The problem with beginner bikes below 250cc, is that they're extremely expensive for what you can get on the used sport bike market to say something like a used SV650 for the same price. So, in the states, they just don't sell well.

Yes, indeed. Especially the mini-racing bikes like the R125, Aprilia, etc. The 125 bikes are always costly as they are in such high demand for learners.

In the UK and Europe you can ride a 125 without a full license. So demand is higher for them which pushes the price up. In contrast bikes over 125 have a barrier to entry (the full license which can be expensive and time consuming to get). So used prices are pushed lower.

There is no doubt motorcycles are inherentky dangerous. One is travelling at fast speeds without the protection of a seatbelt and a huge metal cage! I have to say, I would not like any of my 3 boys to take up motorcycling but as a parent, you never stop worrying. The balance is fun and enjoying ones life. I am never more alive than when close to death recklessly riding a motorcycle fast. Then again, I am a poor rider with an addiction. @RevMonkey4 жыл бұрын
Yeah, most people are a little scared at first, but like driving a car with gears it does not take long before they are fine. It was the one thing I was worried about on my first ever ride on a geared bike but actually it is fine and it is easier than car manuals. Ade

Does this bike have any sort of gear monitor/selector on the dashboard?
@RevMonkey4 жыл бұрын
No it does not. You;d get used to this after a few trips though as the 125 engine makes it known immediately and you will 'feel' it. It is a super basic bike at a super basic price but it is a super buy. Mostly bullet proof, cheap to run. It is also a lot of fun!! Ade

@@abipollard33 AH, ha, that is a tough one. Both are the two most reliable, best evolved 125s ever made. If you are buying cash and not new then just make sure the services have been done, if applicable, and hopefully comes with some extra bits. Make them an offer if it is used. Though these bikes move quick. If you are financing it then see which of the two offers the best agreement. Other than that, you can;t go wrong. for me, it would like come down to the best one of either one for sale and in a colour I really like! @RevMonkey4 жыл бұрын
Well, you can get the Wolf for £2199 at the moment so that is amazing value. However, if you can reach the price then the YBR or Honda CB are better long term buys and have some better safety tech. Any of these bikes are great though so, personally, I would likely go with the one I liked the look of most! If you can get a quick go on both then great. If not, at least try and sit on each and see how 'feels'. Let me know how you get on. Ade

@@RevMonkey Thanks for the quick reply. I'm planning of keeping this bike for about 3-4 years so I might go with the wolf. Beauty wise I think it's miles ahead as well. My only concern with the sym is that I heard about many technicall issues they appear after some time.

@@redsi1627 Yeah, well, of course, it won't have the bullet-proof mechanics of the Japanese bikes but should be good enough. Watched many reviews by yourself! A lot of those top end bikes you ride seem intimating. I enjoy your scooter reviews though lol. I'm all about economy riding, so MPG is important to me. Scooters and 125's are crazy good, so I'd probably go for a 250-400cc max. I have a feeling the full test training will change my mind but until then a 125cc is perfect. There's nothing wrong with the width of the tyres. If you are slipping, then change the stock tyres for Michelin Pilot Street or Metzeler ME-22. I've never had even a twitch on either of those tyre brands.
