It is a testament to how well written a song is, that the song is not only great when the original artist plays, it but also when it is covered. This proves how great this song is, considering how well respected the song writing of Lennon & McCartney was. George Harrison wrote some of The Beatles' best songs, including this and Here Comes The Sun, Something, Taxman, If I Need Someone and I Me Mine, truly one of the greatest songwriters of all time.

well that is what made the beatles so great they had not one, not two, but three world class song writers and even Ringo wrote a few hits in his solo career. They also innovated so many techniques that became common in rock music.

@scottchapin2323 exactly my point Peter Frampton is an exceptional artist and it is a testament to how well written this song is that he decided to cover it but also, how he was able to put his stamp on the song, the versatility of the song writing as a big part of that, the same with Steve Harley & Cockney Rebels version of Here Comes the Sun

@impudentdomain for a band to have 3 of the greatest song writers in modern history is incredible all 3 have decent vocal ability and are/were also multi instrumentalists, which is another reason The Beatles were so innovative, as they took on instruments like the Sitar and Melotron when no one else in pop music was doing so, and as you said coupled with innovative production like using different recording speeds, using tape backwards, recording in corridors and stairwells to obtain different accoustics, they moved music on so far in a few short years. I genuinely don't think we would have had the amazing music we had in the 70's if it were not for The Beatles.
