I understand, you're not alone. I visit my dead son, Spartacus aka "Sparty". Spartacus forever took a piece of my heart and it will ache till I take my last breath. It's hard to visit my baby son at the cemetery but I do. And I always remained strong even after losing him. I didn't numb the pain with drugs, alcohol, sex, food, work, exercise, or the terrible internet. I dealt with it and faced all the emotions and got personal help, and I thank God always for the strength I have. I honor my son by being stronger and a better person every day. I honor my son by being strong for his little brother he now has and my husband. It's okay to have emotions and it's okay to be human. U keep your head up. Bless you. And bless your little angel. My angel son is doing greater things beyond this world and I know yours is too. I lost Spartacus on October 26 of 2022, he was perfectly formed and a lovely weight but a stillborn . His little brother was born on October 26 2023! Same day, baby snake. 😇. I was treated pretty bad both my pregnancies mainly by my own family especially. My husband was the only one truly there for me and I'm still greatful. Smile because he's proud of u and I know mine is too. Pain is privilege to a warrior 🙏.

@mjtonn9 ай бұрын
This song and video are powerful. It expresses so many deep themes. One of those being grief over the death of a loved one. Another is the isolation of loss. It’s also interesting to see how through the whole video, it’s basically only the couple. The video appears to be a reflection of modern views on romantic relationships. There are no other supports, or community, or even other people. The couple walks alone in the park. They eat alone in a diner. They dance alone in an empty dance hall. The older woman (who could be his mother, or at least a family member) comes only at the end to console him, and express affection. The only other people that possibly could be present are those in the other cars at the drive-in movie, which as another commenter pointed out, could just be him experiencing his life flashing before his eyes. The video does a great job of expressing all the highs and low -love, the announcement of a baby, the loss of that baby, the loss of a partner, drug use, and the fall out. The hard part to deal with is there is little hope left in the video. And the lyrics match this sentiment as well (“we’re all going down to the flowers.”) In the end, it appears that the man has a second chance; he has survived his water suicide attempt. But what will he do now? He has lost the woman that he has loved - the whole video is him fixated on her. (The band is called “While She Sleeps” and the album is “Self-Hell.”) We all need something outside ourselves to hope in. Otherwise, we are stuck in the same abyss from the song (“It’s too late, nothings gonna change at all. Nothing gonna change at all.”) Only God can give us that ultimate hope. My prayer is that everyone that watches this video, and relates to the painful subjects presented, find hope in Jesus. Instead of numbing ourselves to pain (like with drugs, or attempting suicide, or many other things), we can find peace in God. Everyone needs hope to live and to love.

I discovered this song yesterday while driving back home from my band's concert. Played it on repeat for 4 hours straight while crying over 'us'. She was sleeping in the passenger seat and I barely pulled my thoughts together while gripping the steering wheel. We've had this kind of relationship for the past 5 years... last month, she decided that she wants to move forward and be 'just friends'. Two nights ago I lost all hope; all the talks & changes couldn't fix 'us' this time, she's really serious about it. 'Just friends' feels impossible for me right now, as I still have so many feelings left for her. She was my best friend and the only one I felt comfortable sharing every thought with. Today, the only thing I'm sure about is that without her, I can't feel anything but 'down'. Tomorrow, I'll be moving back to my parents place for a while... I only watched the music video this morning and it's exactly how I pictured 'us' on the road back home. Incredible composition, outstanding acting. Thank you While She Sleeps. The beauty of this video and it's almost 2 million views is that you cannot watch this video twice back to back because the first time watching it sticks with you for months. I'll watch the guitar play through on repeat, but this video just crushes your emotions. I know everyone can relate.

Honestly, best track I’ve heard from this band is a very long time. Used to be a die hard from the beginning but last couple albums haven’t resonated with me. This tune feels special.
@nolankuffner357311 ай бұрын
A die hard is someone who likes something and basically has to try to hate that tjing not to enjoy it. You could just say "I really liked this band's earlier stuff, I haven't enjoyed them recently". Instead you have to try and pat yourself on the back for enjoying a song. Half of every band's "fans" fucking suck. Derive whatever meaning you want from that.

I had to grieve my unborn baby on my own a while ago ..and reached breakup due to the depression that caused me. The scene where they lost the baby made my tears go down like a river. This depicts the emotions I felt back then especially that the event led to a break up as well. It actually made me feel not alone in it, the chaos one experience in their life in the aftermath of such event is insane. The complexity of that cant be put into words. Yet the video knew how to transmit those emotions..lots of respect for this piece of art. And lots of courage to all thise going through something similar. 🙏🏻

Here's what i interpret what the video means, I'd appreciate a read! So they meet each other and they start dating. In the scene where we can see her screaming at him while they're at a restaurant, maybe it was a date but he showed up drunk so she got mad at him. Maybe he has a problem with alcoholism. Latet on we see that she is pregnant and she tells her boyfriend about it and they seem very happy about it. Unfortunately they suffer a miscarriage and from that point onwards everything starts falling apart. She falls into depression and they start growing apart. In the scene where they're on a bench we can see her crossing her arms while he offers her a cigarette. Perhaps it was his way of coping with traumatic events. He also introduces her to drugs to numb her pain and eventually we see that in a scene. Now here's the interesting part. The girl did not die, rather he died. He was the one who OD'd and passed away. Everything that we see (giving her CPR, her struggling to breathe, and him crying on top of her) wasn't actually her. She was the one who was giving the CPR and trying to bring him back to life. But alas, he was dead. Every scene that we see him alone was after he died, and then entered an endless cycle of memories. In his memories, he thinks his gf died and he's the cause for it (all the scenes). He is tired of experiencing the pain over and over again that he tries to kill himself. But he cannot, he's already dead. He jumps into a lake to drown himself but ends up in a "reality" where he's inside the car watching the memories in a big screen while his car continues to flood, suggesting that a fragment of him is trying to kill himself. But he cannot die, he's already dead. So we see him fall out of a soaked car. He is just trying to end his cycle but ends up alive in another "reality" where he has to experience all that once again. But he finally breaks free. The gf who didn't actually die, finally dies. The old woman is his gf who continues to live until she's old and then dies of natural causes. She sees him after death and he too finds her in their afterlives and then they hug and the cycle of endless pain breaks. She is seen fully dressed perhaps, she was given a proper funeral by her family meanwhile her boyfriend who died while he OD'd while shirtless is again seen shirtless while they hug. The boyfriend associates the piano with his girlfriend. After he dies, the piano is in front of him. When the piano is burning away, maybe his gf is now growing old in real time and has reached her death bed and her body is slowly dying (piano burning away). And when it falls apart, she is dead. And they finally meet after death. And their meeting breaks the sumsara and sets his soul free after he finally realises he didn't kill his gf but infact he's the one who passed away. Thank you so much if you made it this far, i really appreciate it. I had so much fun while writing this :))

Speaking from someone who's lost a child in the late stages of pregnancy, I can say it's one of the hardest things to come back from. Not many people do. It's taken my wife and I almost a year and a half to get back to "normal." I can only understand so much not being the one who physically went through it, but the pain runs deep. Be there for them even if sometimes you're the one that has to absorb a bit of that pain. Hold them closely and know its neither of your fault. If you dont hold each other up, then one of you could drown in the sorrow. Live for each other and the future. Go through the process as long as it takes. It won't be easy , but you won't be alone.. There's always a brighter tomorrow ahead after the darkness.

@JosephJames-oe4jq thank you. After the majority of a year of recovering, I'm really happy to say my wife and I are expecting again. She's only 10 weeks and it's very early but I just want you to know. There's always a light at the end of the darkness, you just have to be strong and patient.
@Anderson_the_NomaD We got sent home on the day off the expected delivery and were asked to come back in 8 days or if anything happens. 4 days later we woke up with there being no movements at all. One rushing later and a bunch of time to convince the dr's to even let us stay and start the process with medicine.. 16 hours of her drinking medicine shots to start it, then 17 hours of labour.. My little girl was stuck halfway and the doctors did nothing. After her vitals had been terrible for 2 hours they decided on a blood test from her head. Her lactic acid levels were extremely high. Now they decide to do a c-section. It was too late. I stood and watched in silence as over 12 different doctors tried saving my daughter's life with CPR and adrenaline shots. 48 minutes later i held her for the first time but she didn't make it

I've watched this video 20+ times in the last 2 days & each time there's something new to notice. This time it was realising why he's ringing out his t-shirt at the start 😢 The lost art of music videos is needed for the very reason that is this masterpiece. We all take our own subjective message or meaning from a song, but a real, powerful video like this conveys so much about the thoughts behind the words & the notes. It helps reach that extra realm of potential of connecting deeper from band to fan, no matter where in the world. Their heavy songs hit in every way imaginable live, but some of their songs driven by the suffering that comes with feeling are so emotionally profound that they cry out for an alternatively artistic way to portray their story such as this. What a song, what a video, absolutely beautiful #youarewe
