This has been a funny journey so far. Kills the first Tieflings she meets, the first druid, enters the town by breaking into its prison, proceeds to free their goblin prisoner ... I don't know much about the morality system of D&D, but if this is chaotic neutral, I don't want to know what evil looks like 😁 Edit: Oh, and I hadn't even gotten yet to where you try to steal from the orphan gang!
@WhimsyPsyche Жыл бұрын
Hahahha hell yeah! Evil would be siding with the goblins during the fight before the gate, or pickpocketing all the tieflings inside the Grove, choosing more violent/mean answers during dialogues, something like that! A bit worse than what I'm doing. I'm basically just playing a 'f*ck around and find out' type of character 🤣

I have never seen a party with a rogue trigger so many traps before! lol For future checks, if the only way to fail a check is by rolling a 1, then you probably don't need to include guidance in the roll. A roll of 1 is an auto fail anyway. Your Rogue's lockpicking bonuses were +8, so rolling a 2 will meet the DC of 10 (Goblin cage). 1:12:29 - "I need to stop playing." - Whimsey 1:40:40 - "I need to stop playing." - Whimsey 1:58:10 - "I need to stop" - Whimsey 1:58:45 - Whimsey puts her controller down and stops playing. ;) Really enjoying your playthrough. Loving how you are diving into another awesome universe, and really taking your time to explore and learn. Don't forget that at your camp you can Respecc your avatar but also your companion's at any time you like by talking to (Withers) Due to playing a fighter avatar my self and having allot of melee DPS to bring to the battle i made Shadowheart a bit more of a dedicated healer/support role (side damage and buffing) by switching her sub class from Trickery (default) to Life spec that gives her some more healing orientated abilities and spells to go with that are more readily available . naturally it's always up to choice what works for one might not work for the other, but seeing a respecc only cost you (100 gold) and naturally you can save prior to a respecc it's most certainly worth taking a look what specs/abilities on your companion's caters more to your play style and preference. Keep up the amazing work and i'm already looking forward to more BG3 :)

Enjoying this playthrough a lot, keep them coming :) No switching in the middle of it, the face of the party leads the convo. However, you can always "leave"/go if this an option, choose another character and interact again. Not in all the cases, because it is just how it is (the character leading - interacts, like in important conversations), but in cases like with a pig, rocky crevice, or book, or something else - leaving and switching is the way.

Thanks for a great episode! I wasn't feeling well today, so I was really looking forward for your upload. Your playthroughs are always so fun to watch, they cheer me up ☺ Also wanted to add: there's so many ways you can progress through the story and explore the world. And most awesome thing is - the game allows you to do it as you please; so it's alright to enter the Grove through the prison, why not 😃 As much as I have the itch to comment on the mechanics and answer some questions you had in the episode, I'm holding myself not to 😅 'cause I remember it took me 13-ish hours to figure out fight mechanics, loot management, gaining advantage etc (maybe that's bc I didn't have any expirience with dnd, but i digress). I think you have these questions sorted by now ☺ And you 'exposed' Astarion really quick, tbh he's not very good at hiding his nature 😅😅 Anyway, I hope you're enjoying the game! 🧡

@WhimsyPsyche Жыл бұрын
Yeah, but it's another way to learn to experience and try things out for yourself! I never look stuff up, unless I'm reaaally confused about something in particular. Maybe it comes from the fact that I've been gaming all my life, and we did not have internet to help us back in the day. We only had the game, a pen and paper, and our brain 😊 I still play like that, it's much more fun than to be fed all the info imo!
throwing potions was discovered by someone first, who didn't look up on the internet, same with every cool detail they aded, actually systems created to support whatever approach, even Swen said that sometimes he would ask "would it work that way?" and the programmer-scripter would say "idk, in theory yes", and it actually worked, because built systems. Same with, for instance, dropping a poition that wouldn't break it and then breaking it when you need, iykyk, but also thing about dropping poison, vial of acid to make a trap, hey (would that work, idk)? Some of the fun of figuring out is part of the game. Ofc, no one stops anyone from googling it, but it is to each their own. In the EA I didn't know what to do with this druid as well, so I left him there? Did it prevent me from playing the game, did the story stop? No. Same with throwing potions, figured it out only on full release. And then there is always spell choice preference, optimization, etc. It should be different for everyone according to their preference of exploration, RP, character builds,. etc.

@@corican why does she need redemption in first place, from what, what did she do wrong so far except for being herself, especiall since an actual alien to the world of Faerun coming from militaristic authoritarian society that if high on order, discipline and dedication to the cause? She literally doesn't have to be nice to anyone, like any other person to any other person. Also, Githyanki actually freed themselves from Mindflayers, so they kinda do know better. I also don't think they are rude, they are just their own "people" weary of the stranger that is for some reason questioning them to "know them better" as if somehow would cure them of the parasite. I would say it is crushing typical RPG trope that companions all should insta-nice to a player and follow them like a happy labrador without their own agenda and all the party are just friends somehow. Why? That's not how people work. In this case it is just strangers with their own goals, united by having the same problem and that's it, some probably hate each other, like SH and Lae'zel for actual reasons, and if their goals and players don't match, they could leave, attack you. They could become friends, open up, etc., but also could become enemies. But hey, that's what it is, and my opinion is that she is the best written companion in the game. If you play you could always just never speak to her, never take her anywhere or just kill her, they don't have plot armor or anything, literally any NPC/companion is slaughterable.
