Gotta feel sorry for Lilith, it really does seem that not only did her family screw her over, but so did the devs! I don't think she's the "evil" girl they make her out to be, I think she's neglected and sad and a victim of favouritism. Idk what Daniel and Mary-Sue were thinking. Who has twins and decides that they're going to treat one better than the other? I think Dirk was possibly the first person to treat her like a human being, rather than the "evil twin", and that's how they fell in love. Her family probably laugh at her relationship under the impression that either it won't last or Dirk is just dating Lilith out of pity. As for Angela, I wonder if she's tired of being Miss Popularity and Miss Perfect and is dating Dustin because he brings some much-needed drama into her life. Does Lilith know that her sister is dating Dustin? We already know that Daniel doesn't like Dustin but does he actually know that his perfect, favourite daughter is head over heels for him? Does Angela keep belittling and fighting with Lilith to preserve her perfect persona to her parents, fearful of what they might think if they found out? ALL THIS STORYTELLING I COULD STRAIGHT UP WRITE A NOVEL

That's really good storytelling! My theory for The Pleasant Twins is similar. I think Lilith hated her sister and blamed her for being neglected at first, thus the fighting between them but Lilith realized that she doesn't really hate her sister Angela and is just really frustrated at the situation, the girls make amends with each other and become closer than ever before!

i started playing the sims 4 when it came out. it was my first sims game, i never knew you were meant to play with the townies. they felt so shallow. looking at the sims 2 makes me want to get the game!

Sims 4 definitely has shallow townies. In Sims 2, relationships are on each side and not mutual like sims 3 and 4. Sims 2 had a lot more story and life with their townies. Way more fun to play. They had established memories and relationships and wants. And like she mentioned in the video when you load in, specific events happened! It was so much fun

Yeah Sims 2 was amazing actually when sims 3 came out I was so disappointed because I loved sims 2 so much.. sims 4 has a great cas and graphics but I still miss sims 2

Opposites attract! I always played it that the girls and their boyfriends mellow each other out as they grow/get married, Angela becoming less snotty and more grounded, inspiring Dustin to do better and Lilith helping Dirk break a few rules and not be so shy as he pushes her to do better! The end results are 4 well-adjusted, happy, rounded adults and the girls becoming close as they realise their issues with each other stemmed from their parents troubled marriage and not really being there. I have Mary-Sue and Daniel work on their marriage after she catches him cheating with this being a big trigger for the girls opening their eyes and having a healthier view on familial/romantic relationships

Nice job! When I used to play the sims 2 I played this family a few times and the dreamer family too. I turned the bad twin good and made the have a good relationship with their parents. As for the dad I may have took it further and the maid became pregnant. 😬 then he got kicked out and moved in with his mistress maid. 😳so much fun.

I genuinely love these sims 2 to sims 4 videos. You have no idea how much it makes my day. I played sims 2 all day throughout my childhood, (couldn't download/afford sims 3 even when it came out so I stayed with sims 2 even all those years.) And now I'm in med school, playing sims 4 every chance I get (very rare free times) and I really miss sims 2's storylines and gameplays!

I have a theory that Angela once she finds out the truth about her parents' favoritism and her sister Lilith being neglected, tries to make amends with her sister only for Lilith to brush her off at first, then she starts to realize that she doesn't really hate her sister and that she was just really frustrated about the situation hence her bad relationship with her parents. The twins then confront their parents likely while they're wallowing in their marital issues and Daniel's cheating and after they move out stopped talking to them for a while. Then Lilith and Angela give their parents an ultimatum, either they get therapy, apologize for being bad parents and be better people or they stop talking to them indefinitely. All while getting married to their boyfriends and starting their own families, and are now closer than ever.

OK... I have to ask... who the hell has twins and decides from the beginning that they're going to treat one well and the other like crap? Did Lilith bite her mom's boob while nursing or something? Did they have some kind of weird superstition around twins and decide that she was the "evil" one? What could a baby do that would make her parents hold a grudge against her for the rest of her life? ITs the narcissistic family formula. One child is the golden child for the parent to put all of their good traits and hopes and dreams onto… The other child is the scapegoat to be used as the problem child and gives the adults the ability to blame a child for their dysfunction. The longer that the parents beat these roles into the children… The more that the children exhibit the behaviors suited to their roles. It’s never the child’s fault which role they’re assigned- it’s literally the only way that their family knows how to function. Scapegoats often are able to get out once they become adults… But they typically have to cut off their entire family because the family refuses to ever stop scapegoating them

@@Banana34598 So true, and sometimes the golden child escapes too and mends their relationship with their siblings and then both garbage parents are left with no children and only have themselves to blame for that. Sadly though, this isn't always the case. In fact, more often golden children, especially if they're raised by narcissists will grow up to be narcissistic in their own right. Not only that, but total screwups, while the scapegoat children more often than not make a clean break and do well for themselves, no thanks to their toxic family. Honestly if you're going to have a golden child, then just have the one child and no more after that. And if you're going to pit children against each other, then you shouldn't be having children at all.

​@@juliaboskamp9666 Daniel, I'm honestly not sure. Maybe. I think he just shouldn't have gotten married to Mary Sue because married life clearly wasn't for him. Not only that, but he's too selfish to end the relationship or talk to Mary Sue when he was getting frustrated in his marriage. I don't think Mary Sue is. I think she was just so obsessed with her work that she forgot about her family, especially Lilith. I can't say no abuse happened here though because neglect is a form of abuse and spoiling a child too much can also count as abuse. I don't know I just feel like The Pleasant Family really need some serious help to unpack all of their issues, especially Angela and Lilith.

Always figured Lilith just took it out on her sister all the time to how she's treated and caused their relationship strain. I mean, Angela being a good sim I feel like it'd go against her traits to go about jilting her sister and being nasty to initiate it. Probably did her best to make sure her twin didn't feel like she was the black sheep of the family, but there was just too much going on. If anything blame it on the parents. Probably didn't plan to have twins at all and ended up (dunno how you ignore your child that's a twin). Feel like Mary-sue probably didn't want to have kids to begin with because that means less time to get promoted. The strain on their marriage and then having two kids while somehow not having the energy to put into their second child like the other somehow. Mary-sue seems like the type ready to go back to work after the a day or two after giving birth not wanting to waste any moment that might cause her to not get promoted and move up the ladder while Daniel had to watch the kids or probably had to hire a babysitter because he works as well. Pretty sure Angela genuinely loves Dustin and doesn't expect so much out of her like her parents. High grades, up keeping a good reputation, staying out of trouble. See Daniel hates him a lot probably thinking he'll be a bad influence on Angela. Angela has pressure put on her to succeed in life to what they want her to do rather than what she wants.

I never played sims 2, but I played the pleasants in ts4, where I got Lilith try to get a happy ending away from her family and with her sweetheart Dirk. But then Angela had a friend killed Lilith so that she could seduce Dirk after divorcing Dustin Broke. And then, Dirk left Angela in the altar and Dustin will get his revenge on Angela and her new family after not being allowed to see his sons for a very long time! Dustin was in the top of the criminal career at that point and one of his sons by Angela (they have two) was just as evil as him while the other was sent for adoption by Ripp Grunt...in my game anyways ...

I think the attraction to the mismatched boyfriends is just a matter of opposites attracting, and it gives the player the option to get them together with their more appropriate mate if they want to.

As much as I find The Pleasant Family fascinating, I feel like Daniel and Mary Sue not only failed their daughters for pitting them against each other, but they also failed each other. Me playing the broke family in ts4. Angela is pregnant by Dustin and got kicked out by her parents so she’s living with the broke family. Angela had a miscarriage and apparently the game generated the name Harold or smth and now she’s pregnant again. Dustin is a druggie addicted to weed and is currently a drug dealer to help make money. 😮‍💨😭 so much drama

I made them in Sims 4, with mods and good planning I now have the Broke, Pleasant and Dreamer Family with all their problems and connections! Love them. 😊 Actually Dustin is a dealer - he supplies all the pills for my university roommates - aand Lilith is kinda alright with her mom right now :)

I've always seen the Dustin/Angela and Dirk/Lilith ships as revealing something about the sisters' characters. Angela could be into Dustin for a few reasons: maybe she secretly craves some of the rebellion her sister indulges in, or maybe she sees all the bad shit Dustin is caught up in and has I Can Fix Him syndrome. LIlith, meanwhile, desperately craves the love and acceptance she was denied as a child, and having a "good egg" like Dirk want to be with *her* is validating in a way that a relationship with Dustin could never be. Incidentally, there's a bit more of a random element to the attraction thing than you really mention here. It's entirely possible that Lilith will be more attracted to Dirk than Dustin depending on what Turn-Ons and Turn-Off she rolls.

The timeline for the series goes from TS3 > TS1 > TS2. The Pleasant couple is WAY too far back to be in TS3, a smallish-big continuity error. :/ If I were to place TS4 anywhere in the timeline, I would have placed it after TS2. The alternate timeline just doesn’t do it for me, so I have started on a complete rebuild for the Willow Creek, Oasis Springs, and Newcrest worlds. To scrap the townies, make them fit 10-20 years after TS2, and keep the new townies as fresh faces.

Didn't play in previous games, but after reading lore and watching videos, decided to add parents (in their ghost phorms) and other ancestors to some families. With Goths-Crulmplebottoms-Bachelors and Lotharios there were no problems, though with Caliente the were no possibilities to add Flamenco as a father to Nina and Dina - they could be only "fiancees" even though Katrina could be his wife. I gave up and begin with the Pleasants.I thaught, why create parents if they already exist, so I downloaded Pleasant family, left only parents and add them to already existing as TS4 characters Pleasant twins. After successfully made Mary-Sue as mother of twins and spouse of Daniel, again, stupid program propose that twins can be only fiancees of Daniel and not daughters. Tried with ID, nothing. Which is completely stupid.
