I was orphaned at an early age. Experienced things that I will never talk about but as the song says, through it all I learned to trust in Jesus, I learned to depend upon the Lord🙏🏻✝️❤️

I remember that song from when I was a kid😊 I don’t know if I heard it in our church or not, but my parents had an album by The Keystones and I remember my Mom playing it on Sunday mornings when we would be getting ready to go to church🥰 That was one of my favorites on that album.❤

My friend wrote this song with wonderful words and meaning. One verse says, “My life’s not been a bed of roses since I met Him, but I would not trade the peace, the love, His presence that I feel. He never promised me that trouble I would not see, but He said that He’d go with me and be everything I need!” I really appreciate this video and would encourage everyone to find their peace in Him.

Mr. Brown and Ms. Lori are 2 of the most special people.....I love the way you ended this. My husband and I are around your alls age and we have been so blessed. There have been struggles but God has taken care of us. We are going through the biggest trial in our 42 years of marriage right now. My husband lost his job of 43 years. He worked there even before we met. It was out of the blue, a shock, but God is taking care of us. We have no health care right now, no Life insurance, but God gave my husband a new job. He is making less, but we are doing fine. Our church has supported us with an offering....We are going to be ok...God does not leave his children on their own....He does provide. Thank you for being you...We love you both.

Thank you both for being authentic, God loving, calming, positive, encouraging, educational, funny, and for being a friend that we can go to when nice, decent people are not around sometimes. This channel is your ministry and I thank God that you are serving Him. And once in a while, you like to dance. You two are cute.

When I was little in 1943 or so, my daddy kept us fed on squirrels and rabbits. Young squirrel fried with mashed potatoes and gravy! So good! My mom made barbecued rabbit, yummy. And of course catfish and hush puppies. We were poor but well fed!

I enjoyed this Ms. Lori. On October 24th, 1980 when you and Mr. Brown were saying your vows before God and your families, I was marrying my own farm boy in a little church outside of Wewoka Ok. We will celebrate 43 years together this October. I had to laugh when I realized we have the same wedding date. The cornbread and buttermilk was something my grandmother did and she was a Missouri farm girl. The pinto beans and chocolate cake was something my grandpa did. Just plain cake, no frosting. We have shared our own adventures from starting out with nothing (literally), having two babies and a lot of living on the way . We lived in some sketchy houses, old houses with no insulation and rattling windows but you get better by increments. We worked, we saved, we drove old cars but we didn't care, we were in it together. Just like you and Mr Brown.

I was raised a city boy and never taught how to survive real life. I recently got into prepping and quickly realized that's how folks lived life normally. I'm jealous of those who grew up knowing about tractors, hay bales, and chicken coops (as examples). That's all stuff I'm trying to learn now later in life. An 8 year old farm kid is better prepared than any 40 year old city guy, hands down. Thank you for sharing your knowledge. I'm subscribing and am already thankful for what I am going to learn from you. Thank you for creating this channel! God bless you!

My Scottish Father-in Law (yes, from Scotland) worked his butt off to raise 7 kids and keep his wife at home to raise his 7 kids. He said to me that his biggest regret (he was 80) was that he couldn't spend more time with his kids when they were growing up. AND his kids loved and respected him. They were ok with how it went, but he wanted more time with them.

Just now watching, I'll edit my comment shortly, I always love to see notifications from the channel and watch your videos. Confession. Mr. Brown reminds me so much of my Dad, who is still living in his mid 70's after a liver transplant in 2008. He grew up in North Louisiana a poor country boy who can do with or do without and a good man who provided all our lives till he retired in 2020.

It’s the love y’all reveal to all us you tubers that make us all interested. One thing y’all didn’t say… is being determined and dedicated to one another snd never “gave up” when times were difficult. I’ve been married going on 41 years… and putting God first and honoring our “vows” is why we are still together. Sometimes it’s the hard times that make us realize the precious life together we have … just like y’all. God continues to bless us daily.

Love when you guys share from your hearts…beautiful. Your stories remind me of Jesus’ teaching…The one who follows the Lord is like a house built on the rock. The winds came and shook the house. The rain fell and beat on that house. But it did not fall; because it was built on the rock. It’s a beautiful thing to look back on the storms of life and see Jesus was right there with you, making a way through it all. Love your posts. God bless you.

I understand about wanting to meet your Mother. I didn't know here as she was hospitalized when I was three and thereabouts. I did find her when I was 24 and called her and she said she really wanted my younger sister but never wanted me. I almost moved her to TN to live with us but her Doctor really warned us against doing that. I was orphaned at the age of 11 and went into Foster Care and was well into my late 20's before finding any of my brothers and sisters. God has a purpose for all he withholds from us and also what he he lavishes us with. He knew us when we were our mothers wombs and had never withheld a good thing from us. That's the attitude I have lived my almost 69 years with. Thank you for this edition of your show. You two fit each other so well. I pray the Lord continues to pour out his grace upon you. Miss Lori and Danny…wishing you the happiest of anniversaries come October. Jack and I will be married 43 years in August and as you say it has not been without struggles and heartache. At every phase of life obstacles and struggles come to us and I live with the knowledge that God will never shelter us from life’s storms but he will certainly shelter us in life’s storms! As Jack and I are living the retirement dream we are deep in some very serious health issues with Jack that just came out of the blue. We pray every day for Gods healing knowing that no matter what God is in control. I’ve cried as much as I have prayed during this past year and when I thought I couldn’t cry another tear or pray us through another day God softened the struggle and lightened our life. I can honestly say I know God is leading us because it has been like a switch was turned on at the beginning and another here now. I just don’t know how people survive without God and His blessings but we just can’t go through our days without the word guiding us. I have mentioned this to you before but I’m going to say it again that I’m praying you both to retirement, sooner rather than later, because sometimes we need our lives softened and our struggles made light! Do take care of yourselves and each other as you wind down your working career…just know that retirement is no less busy but it gives more time to devote to our faith life when the aging struggles come. God love and bless you both and thanks for sharing a bit of your lives with us each visit!!!:):):)

Ive grown up and live in Kentucky and I grew up with crackers broken up with milk. Learned it from my mom and dad who grew up in the depression. My dad loved the cornbread and milk. We just didn’t have buttermilk around very often. Your life and cooking make me think of them so much. Sweet memories.

Me too, my daddy used to eat saltines in a glass with milk! I also eat it. Just wrote a comment about it then saw your post. Funny that I am 70 and I still call my dad…daddy. Love cornbread too! Was never a buttermilk gal but he love it. 👍
