Your video is the most comprehensive, clear and succinct that I have watched. You don't assume that we know exactly where to place the Multimeter leads to test for a fault. The video covers all the parts that can fail and clearly shows how to replace them. It's also a short video with no superfluous talk or imagery. THIS is the video I'll be using to fix my Kenmore dryer that's not heating. Very professional. Thank you.

I have checked out several KZbin videos on checking your dryer when it’s not putting out heat. You are by far the best video mainly because you show things on the voltmeter and you have great close-ups and having the finger-pointing to the spots where you’re supposed to be testing are crucial! You are the best I have subscribed.

Excellent video. As my payment, I will let you in on a little secret that you probably already know. The timer can be disassembled and the contacts sanded/polished with emory cloth, just like the points on old car ignition systems. The timer is the most expensive part ($70), but it can be repaired most of the time. Just dont let the little pieces jump out, but even if they do, the solution is to just be a great 3D puzzle fixer or buy a new timer module like you were about to do anyway. ❤ Im impressed with your video style and the thoroughness of your diagnostics is premo!

THANK YOU SO MUCH👏👏👏I saved $350 on parts and labor just buying the heating element and switching it out myself: ***Question: My new heating element came with two separate thermostats- I assume optional replacements- I ended up using my same thermostat but wonder whether I should change out the thermostat as well. They are slightly different and the replacement thermos do not have three inputs only two so there is a separate red wire I would somehow would attach to suffice connecting all three lines from the dryer to the new thermostat replacement, but since I didn't know I left it out. Also the replacement thermo reads 80° - not sure how that plays into this. I have a whirpool 7959 dryer.***

Help needed beyond all pro advise I've found!!!! Have a dryer that the element won't heat. When you turn it on plugged in 120v reaches the element fine when you turn the dryer on heat and turn it on. The thermal switches have no resistance when turned off as they should. The element tests good as it has 10 ohm resistance and does not short to ground. There's no apparent physical problem with the element. There's a light blue wire running down towards the motor that seems to have a short to ground but I'm not sure if that's normal being it goes to the motor windings. Seems like I remember that motor wires will show a short to ground. The motor works great. Is there some way that the element could actually be bad anyway? What would be your recommendation to do in this situation? How can the element test good, have 120v going to it, but not heat? Anyone have a clue if the element is bad anyway or is there something else that could cause this? Also, it has 120 volts through both legs.

My machine has burnt out about 2-3 heating elements in the past 2 years. It’s always the same problem. The machine does not get hot but otherwise works. This time I replaced the heating element which was burnt on a coil and then I replaced the thermostat. It still isn’t heating and the cycle never stops when the times up. I’m about to give up and buy a new one after 3 years of replacing the same parts. Any advice on what to check before I give up? Thanks so much man!
