Make sure you pay attention as to where the water lines go when you remove them as to put them back in the proper place

Hi thanks so much for the great tutorials. on my whirlpool the larger tube that goes into valve (I think the one you cut first here) is leaking. from the valve the tube travels over to the fridge side and to goes up a hole into the back of the refrigerator. do you happen to have a tutorial on how to replace that tube? my inlet valve is working fine, it's just that tube has a hole in it that is leaking. thanks so much for any advice.

Great tutorial video I watched your video and it was very easy to switch out water valves and I thank you for that. My original problem was the ice maker would not fill up with water to make ice. I got my part for my Kitchenaid side by side fridge. 1) I disconnected the water supply line and tested for water pressure and it was HIGH. 2) I tested the terminals for continuity and the one with the small connectors would give a high reading then immediately drop to 0. I did this several times and got the same results on each one. The larger sized terminal connector read high each time. Now my problem is it still won't fill the ice maker with water. Any more suggestions?

You should get similar readings for both solenoids on the valve. What is the high reading that you get in ohms? Do you have the harness disconnected when you measure the continuity? What is your model number?

The small terminal connectors read 181.0 then within one second it goes to 0. The large terminal connector reads 185.0 and stays there. I checked the readings after I unplugged it from the valve. I also noticed the water from the front dispenser has about half the pressure it used to have. Could I have plugged water lines throughout the refrigerator? If so how do you clean them out? Model #KRSU25FK Thank you very much for your help.

If the water flow has decreased I would suspect the restriction would be at the inlet to the valve, or that the water reservoir may be partially frozen. The resistance measurements should be taken with the harness removed and then measured at the male terminals of the valve solenoids. You should see about 180 ohms on one solenoid and about 250 ohms on the other.

If the water dispenser and ice maker is working and the inlet valve is leaking, does it still need replacing or is it the tubing?
@Bertwood4 ай бұрын
How much resistance on the solenoids? Mine has 190 on one and infinite on the other. New replacement is the same. Is that correct?

How do you turn off the water inlet supply? Is that the main water line that supplies water to the whole house?

switched out the water valve but the water dispenser still drips. any answers?

I replaced my valve as my water dispenser was dripping. After replacing the valve, the dispenser is still dripping. Any suggestions as to what I should check next? Thanks.

I had to solve my drip by purchasing a new ice tray thing that the water sets in to freeze. There was a small crack in it somewhere. My mother's drip was the ice maker itself giving the false impression it was the tray where they connected. They're not too expensive to replace, and it was an easy job to do myself. A simple search on Amazon or eBay can find them easily and aplenty, especially if you have the old one to disconnect and see the model number. Hope this helps you.

Dude you mangled that fiberboard cover. Would it really take too long to take out all the screws?

Thanks for this video! What is the replacement part number? We need that part WITH the extra piece before you snapped it off. Our original part is 2188622 and our fridge model is Whirlpool ED2PHEXMQ00.
