Whirlpool Refrigerator Repair - Not Cooling - Refrigerant Valve

I've worked on appliances and refrigeration for over 35 years now and I think this technician really knows how to diagnose and repair the dual evaporator refrigerators. I have the same refrigerator and the freezer is not getting cold. Do you think replacing the reverse diverter and vacuuming down the system and recharging it could possibly fix my issue?

So on LG, GE and other twin cooling fridges you have to get the valve to open on the 3 way (1st valve FR 2nd FF 3rd is both fully open) by entering the service function..On this system (whirlpool) you don;t have to do this? Still works? Or did I miss this step?

Thanks this was a great help! I’m a HVAC tech for over 30 years and I was curious how to read my pressures with this system. It makes sense to just recover and weigh in the charge. I was confused if I am low or not. Everything is frozen solid except the ice cream. I will be checking it in the near future.

Good video Brian. I know you may have been taught that you are brassing ! Brassing is using brass as solder. You are using silver rods. Therefore you are silver soldering. 56 years in the industry. Schools teach it wrong ! Ask any old school technician. Thanks for the info.
