Another great benefit of the Whirlpool Direct Drives--if your water level switch has different detent positions for load sizes (and not an infinitely-variable one), you can tweak the water level at each position.
Just pop the control panel, and on the back of the water level selector switch is a hex-head screw. On this machine it uses a 3/16" socket. Turn this VERY LITTLE at a time, I went a quarter of a turn, and that landed me exactly where I wanted it to be! Turning clockwise will increase the water level, counterclockwise will decrease the level. Make sure you push in on the screw when done to reset the switch and allow water to flow again.
