I had my bow tuned and bought a new rest from y’all. Very happy with the results I ended up with a hamskea rest and I’ve been very happy with it. Great video.

Drop away is better in every way. That being said , it depends on what you’re doing with the bow whether it makes any difference at all. There are a lot of people that it doesn’t make sense to spend $ on drop away . A whisker biscuit does a good job

Question is if you had to start out with the drop away would you have had to shim the cams also???? Everything was already done when you put the drop away rest on??
@extremeoutfitters28 күн бұрын
Yes. Cams would have to be shimmed regardless. Both rests were set from the start at 13/16 from the riser directly through the berger hole. Drop away rest shot a bullet hole right out of the gate while the whisker biscuit took a bit more adjusting

Exactly what I was thinking. The tune shouldn't change between them but a drop away should be more forgiving.

Did you pull the original soft knots and loop off?

When you are setting the center shot at 13/16 is that to the center of the arrow or to the edge of the arrow?

The more I see the BowTech line the more I appreciate their engineering. That dead loc cam adjusting system is the "cats meow". My Hoyt takes a considerable amount more finesse to get tuned.

The deadlock cam system is fantastic

Yea, but how often does it need tuned? I move my shims once, adjust my rest once... not again until I change strings. Hoyts grip, and draw cycle, to me anyway, is way better, they really figured it out with the hbx cam. My rx8 and rx7 ultra are dead quiet, and no annoying buzz after the shot like every bowtech I've tried in the last three years.

Did the drop away actually tune better? You just made the adjustment on the previous rest so at 13/16 it makes sense that it shot a bullet hole on the first shot.

Not rest related but noticed you're using the clicker in this video - are you using this hunting? And do you think it's made a difference in your groups?

The new whisker biscuit vertical and lateral adjustments.

One recommendation, don’t shoot helical fletched arrows through a biscuit you will always have a slight variation when trying to tune the arrow flight, shoot straight fletched arrows and you’ll achieve better results. Plus the vanes shouldn’t pass through the black portion of the biscuit because the black whiskers are stiffer than the other color and I forgot to mention when you position your cock vane up it typically results in a nock high tear because you have two vanes on the bottom vs one on the top creating greater drag on the bottom of the arrow resulting in the nock high tear. A four vane can eliminate this issue also

Everyone makes fun of me, but I love my whisker biscuit. Never have to worry about an arrow falling out while in the stand

Nothing wrong with that. We’ve got lots of folks who prefer to run them.

Don't lie about that 28.5" draw length 😂😂 you know you're barely 26"

Yes, we shot the bow through the chronograph after each rest was set up in tuned

Podium archery did this test already, the difference was one to two fps difference.
