Decadent and rich this cake needs to be a single layer - two layers might bowl you over!
Ingredients
6 TB Unsalted Butter
43g Cocoa Powder (Divided)
¾ C Strong Coffee
¼ C Whiskey
100g Sugar
78g Brown Sugar
120g Flour
4g Baking Soda
1.5g Salt
1/8tsp Pepper
Dash Cardamom
2 Eggs
1tsp Vanilla Extract
½ C Chopped Chocolate, or Chips
Instructions
Preheat oven 325
Spray and dust a 7” Springform pan with 1Tbl of the cocoa powder
Take the first 4 ingredients in a saucepan and heat up until butter has melted.
Whisk in sugars until they dissolve. Remove from heat and cool completely
Take all your dry ingredients and whisk together.
In a small bowl whisk together eggs and vanilla.
Slowly whisk egg mix into cooled chocolate mix.
Add dry and whisk to combine.
Fold in chopped chocolate (if you’re using chips, toss them in flour first).
Bake for 45 - 50 minutes. Test with a toothpick for doneness.
Let cool completely and dust with powdered sugar for finishing
