The other thing I love about having her there is she is a total noob and a total dork (in the best way), but she is interested in learning and honestly trying to taste the way they do. And we all love her. Whiskeys that are a must on my shelf: Lagavulin 16, Red Breast Cask Strength, Glendronach 21. I take ages to drink them, but once they're out I always re-order them. Bulleit Rye and Bourbon I buy in bulk though, cause of cocktails.

The best tip/trick that was told to me really got me enjoying whiskey straight. It is to let the first sip sit in the front of your mouth for about 10-15 seconds. Let the burning subside a bit then swallow that first sip. The rest of the experience is more enjoyable.

I asked my liquor store for Buffalo Trace so many times they finally got it. Very good and little to no burn which I enjoy. I've also tried Red Breast 12 since watching. Love the show.

Love your channel! Not boring, lol. I’ve recently entered the world of whiskey, maybe a year ago. What turned me on to it was Woodford Reserve (which is still my favorite). I’m not a Scotch fan yet. Working on it. Recently, I picked up Maker’s Mark Cask Strength and… wow that has bite. But, the good kind of bite. Still surprisingly smooth even though it’s intense. Vanilla, cherry, oak etc - delicious. Anyhow, good channel. Love the content

Woodford has moved to my favorite American Daily whiskey brand. Besides their standard bourbon I love their other offerings like the wheat and malt. The straight malt is my favorite Daily. And always value priced.

My wife bought me the Uncle Nearest 1884 for my birthday this month. I've only had time for one small taste of it, but my mind was blown. It easily shot up to be in my Top 5 favorite whisk(e)ys. I need to sit with it and really get into it to have more detailed notes on it, but it's fantastic and I highly recommend it.

Great show as always. Funny how you guys always talk about Buffalo Trace being hard to find and stuff. I just got Hibiki Harmony for $62 and 1.5 liter Buffalo Trace for $39.99 at a local Costco here in San Diego. They had at least a pallet left of each. I could not walk by it without getting it.

it's the Waco "Hard G". It was quite prevalent starting in Daniel's age group to about ten years younger. My nieces used to annoy the everlovin' shit outta me with it. the "Omost" for Almost was also pretty common in the area.

Never been impressed by JW Blue. Love the Gold. If you want a daily Scotch try Glenlivet Founders Reserve. Better than Blue IMO and only $40 instead of $200+.

I'm surprised data showed that JW Blue beat JW Green or the new relabeled JW 18 Ultimate (old Platinum). I think both are superior to Blue....not that I would turn Blue down, but the quality and value you get for Green and 18U us outstanding for blended class. As for single malts, Mac 12 is my go to....althought I tend to go for sherry cask over the double oak...but both are great...and I think the 12 is better than the 18.
