I've done neat pours. I actually really liked it at first. Strong notes of butterscotch and vanilla. That was the first dram, the only dram I really enjoyed😂. I'm big into bourbon otherwise and this is my first "Irish".

Well now I want CB to make a Cedar smoked whiskey and call it "It's Pokey"

I have it neat, I think it's ok each week I try something new. My new try of the week is Loch Lomond , I live in Philadelphia and have 3 state stores near me and all have different selections of Irish & Scottish whisky. My favorite was John Powers gold label, but when they redesigned the bottle I believe they changed the recipe to it. What is your opinion on John Powers redesign

I tried this neat, I thought it may grow on me but I think it worsened over time. Jameson was leagues ahead. But, because of the artificially sweet taste, it actually made for a really nice Irish coffee!

Mr Fancy Dan can you do me a favor and clean the sensor of the camera pls :) now we got 2 spots on Daniels otherwise pristine black tees. (just an educated guess on the source of the spots)

I actually do neat pours of it ahaha, definitely doesn’t compete with almost any other whiskey in my collection, And without the name it really is more like a 15$ whiskey, but I also don’t mind it.

I am mainly a bourbon drinker and tried this because of McGregor as well as the tasting notes I read about. For my 1st Irish Whiskey (neat pour), I thought it was ok. I really don't have any other Irish whiskey to compare it to. Any suggestions? (similar price point)

They kept it real on this one☝🏻 Proper dumpster juice at best🤣

Powers Gold Label is on a par price-wise with Bushmills and Jameson, very decent, easy drinking, Irish. Hard to fault.
@samseiken27893 жыл бұрын
Agreed, powers punches above its weight. It has a much more substantial body and texture than other Irish whiskeys in its price range. Wicked fruity dram, like ripe bananas to me

You can’t get a bad bottle of Powers, it’s all great!

I drink Proper Twelve neat. I get the cheap whiskey taste, but I get an overwhelming note of vanilla. Making it taste like I’m drinking candy. Please forgive me for not putting ice in the glass

I bought a bottle of Proper 12 on a whim . I'm normally a Jameson's guy. I tried it straight up unadulterated . I found it sharp an acidic all the way down. So "waste not want not" being a personal motto, I relegated the rest of the bottle do the Irish coffee slot in my bar. A little organic vanilla does wonders.

I drank my bottle of Proper Twelve neat. I didn’t mind it but maybe the lockdown had something to do with it. Cheers!

Proper Twelve is a lesson in marketing, not in making whiskey.

Correct. They bought all the cheapest barrels from Great Northern, an industry friend said the blender even hated it

Maybe I have not seen the review in your collection, but I’d like to see a video on Bushmills Single Malt 10 years. I’ve gotten a few bottles over the years, and I find it very very nice. Unfortunately I don’t have the nose or pallet to pick out what flavours I’m getting, but I’d love to know what you all get from it. I did find it different from the bushmills black or original

Honestly it's not as bad as they are making it out to be. I've had it and liked it and I am pretty well versed in whiskeys. They definitely decided that it isn't good before they had any. That much is apparent.

I agree. It's budget friendly and it's really not that bad.

I discovered your channel in 2018 while looking for Proper 12 Review, looks like we have come a full circle. I know whiskey aint Good. But the Dude went from collecting welfare in 2013 to Launching his own whisky in 2018. Gotta respect the hustle.
