We love Auchentoshan. We try to go there as often as possible. The reason they triple distil is because the founders were from Irish Descent. Irish distilleries traditionally triple distilled. Lovely video!

Whenever I want to try something new, I alway like to see and hear the reviews on it. I respect your pallet and the the descriptions you give. I love to listen to people’s opinions and descriptions on different scotches because it shows how we all taste things similarly but and yet sometimes differently. So many factors go into a tastings. First time you pick up on certain notes and the second and third, others will come more forward and be present. I thank you for your reviews.

I have just bought one of these after most of a bottle of American Oak... I liked the vanilla notes from that, but after the 12 Y.O, I don't think I can go back to the American Oak. It's lovely, but it worries me that I'm getting expensive tastes! These are $73 Australian Dollars!

I find with the Auchentoshan 12 to be very nice! It’s a lighter easy sipping scotch taken neat. Has the smokiness taste and smell from the bourbon casts with a sweetness from the sherry casts. It's kinda like I'm tasting a fruity, nutty with a hint of campfire!The after warmth is very comforting. This is a coming in from the cold scotch ! The second dram with cold whisky stones. To the noise is a cinnamon note with nutmeg. Sweet and appealing. Inviting you to take a sip. Even smoother going in your mouth. The campfire note has calmed and the back flavour is like a warm cinnamon doughnut with a slight kick. Bringing back to the nose I’m also picking up a hint of vanilla. I’m liking this! It’s not my top one but surely is enjoyable and worth buying. If introducing scotch to someone. This and the Deanston virgin oak would be good starters and along with a group of friends to sit back and visit!

I really didn't like this Whisky From the smell to the taste. The smell is a bit strange, sherry, old white wine, vanilla, banana, old cork, on the palate it doesn't start bad but it ends very badly, there are notes of honey, vanilla, sherry, but they are swept away with a super astringent finish and the unpleasant bitter feeling of burnt wood in the mouth (and it's not smoked) and it's still nasty spiciness. Watery. The triple distillation is not felt, it is very alcoholic. Although sherry is perceived, it combines poorly with a rather unpleasant wood. It is a whiskey with a high disorder in its construction.
