Whisky.com tastes the Auchentoshan Three Wood. Auchentoshan is one of the last distilleries that only uses triple distillation. This lowland Single Malt is rich its flavours. It is both sweet and oaky.
Nose:
Sherry, sweetness, oak, fruity, raisins, maple syrup, cinnamon, brown sugar
Taste:
Hazelnut aroma, cinnamon, drier, fruits, sweet, syrup
Finish:
Very long

Just opened my three wood while ago, it’s smooth and sweet and not bitter. Very fruity, surprisingly it compliments with fried salmon :)

Wonderful Review. I for one don't like products that feature more "smokey or peaty" tones and find this one excellent. I highly recommend especially if you are new to Scotch....

It´s one of my first high quality whiskies and I have to share the reviewers opinion; it´s a great whisky and definitely not bitter. Fruity, lively, oaky and long finish. Good for beginners. Extremely tasty.

Just got my first bottle I am new to the world of Scotch whisky myself and I found it to be exactly as you described it fabulous drink going on to my second bottle thank you for your help I was wondering if you could recommend another that is very similar to try for a beginner like myself

Hmmm? I'm wondering what I could find that would have hints of chocolate caramel more on the sweet side something in that nature I'm a little uncertain in which direction to go I'm a bit of a novice when it comes to the Scotch whisky what would you recommend

Just happened upon your channel but bravo sir. My question though, is I was reading in a gentlemen's magazine that Auchentoshan Three Wood would be a good whisky for someone who's new to Scotch whiskey, is that so?

Yes, it is a good whisky for beginners. The Auchentoshan Three wood is a rather mild whisky that still has a lot of aromas mostly sweet and fruit, so the beginners are not overwhelmed with peat smoke, spiciness or heavy marine flavours. We usually recommend the Auchentoshan 12 as it is less cost intensive, but the Three wood is fine.

If it’s made in Poland it’s Polish Whisky then but not Scotch, Scotch = made in Scotland
