My dear brother got this exact bottle for my wedding present yesterday. We toasted with it. It was absolutely splendid. Beautiful beautiful smooth and sweet oaky finish. What a treat for a wedding. Absolutely loved it ❤️

A WONDERFUL dram!! It's all that Horst said, and more! I have a Glengoyne 25 and 30 in my safe, unopened. I cannot decide whether I should let them stay unopened for a REALLY momentous occasion, or order more 21 and fantasize about what the 25 and 30 will taste like when open! A real conundrum!!

Just to clarify the geography: The Glengoyne distillery is a few metres north of the Highland/Lowland excise line, and therefore in the "highlands", and the whisky stores, or warehouses, where the ageing is done, are a few metres to the south of the line, and therefore in the "lowlands". A significant road, the A81, runs along the line at that point and makes getting from the distillery to the warehouses exciting. I have driven through the distillery complex on the A81 many times, but have never stopped off; usually I'm too preoccupied with trying to recognise the subtly hidden turn-off to Killearn. The Geological Highland Line, where the rocks to the North were once in what is now North America, is a few miles to the north of the whisky Highland Line.

Cato, I just received the Glengoyne 21 along with others from TWE. Do you prefer the Glengoyne 21 or 25?

Keith Petersen I like the 25 a lot, but the 21 is beautiful stuff and a great value so I prefer it.

Tom, I received the Glengoyne 21 last month along with 4 other bottles. I have not opened it yet. Cato and Malt Reviews would have a better opinion on this. I have the Glengoyne 15 and its ok. Just tastes a little sharp to me. I'm sure the 21 yr will be a whole different experience. I'm tailoring my palate more towards 18-21 yr scotch with some exceptions of course. I just don't like the majority of young scotch. :>)

Just ordered a bottle of this 21 year old Whisky. Big fan of sherry cask maturations and also triple cask whisky. 👌🏻

This bottle is now virtually impossible to find in Canada. There are none left in Quebec , Ontario and BC.

you said triple distilled. that is incorrect. the first distillation is done in a large still. the second is divided into two smaller stills. I just spent a full day there.

Your tasting notes are very similar to how I'd describe the Yamazaki Sherry Cask 2016.

Horst, when I swish the whisky around in my mouth the way you do, it burns a bit and the lining in my mouth becomes a bit numb. Do you get that sensation? For that reason, I like to do a quick swish so as the whisky coats my entire mouth before I take a deep gulp.
