I thoroughly enjoy Aberfeldy as I've purchased dozens of their bottles. I've found the 12, the 16 finished in Madeira casks and the 21 Madeira to be extremely pleasant whiskies. I recently acquired a bottle of the 21 not finished in Madeira cask and I found it to be smooth but a little peaty. I didn't see you mention the peatiness so am I mistaking that flavor for the oak? I've tried many peaty whiskies and I thought I had that flavor down. Anyways, I just wanted to say that this Aberfeldy 21 is the only one in their lineup I've tried that I found to be peaty. The 25 year "125 year celebration" finished in Sherry Cask is one of my all time favorite whiskies so far. It's a perfect dram to be sure!

Interesting... Aberfeldy 21 years contains no peated malt so you shouldn't taste it but maybe you really mistook the oak or another flavour for the peat?

Aberfeldy is a wonderful. I have yet to try something of theirs that i didn't love

Both are great whiskies. So it depends on you budget, if you have the money go with the Aberfeldy 21 y.o.

I always say this ..Sorry 🙈 But at the end of your reviews , your none the wiser as to if you really like it or we , the public ought to try it It’s all a bit make your own mind up with the very little opinion we’ve given
