The nose:
Vanilla, sweet, sherry, caramel, old dark fruits, dried fruits, toffee
The taste:
Spicy, dark fruits, sherry, sweet, caramel, butterscotch, raisins, dark chocolate, espresso
The finish:
Medium

“Second verse, same as the first” - lyric from 1964-5 hit song by British Band Herman’s Hermits; song - “I’m Henry the Eighth”. Peter Noone, singer, tosses this out seemingly ad lib between first & second verse. Great reference, Horst.

This was a great review. I appreciate that I'll likely never get to taste a 50 year old Glenfarclas, and I am really curious about the older highly appreciated Scotch, so this lets me understand what it would be like.

Very nice review. Obviously it's very expensive and exclusive bottle, but very much cheaper near the other 50 Y bottles.

My father had a whiskey taste thing at his office. He brought home a bottle from 1961 with enough left for 1 full whiskey glass.
