I am a fan of US whisky or bourbon and for me JD No.7 was for long time something I could go with, but after thinking to go with single barrel I've decided to pick this one as next JD whiskey. Thank u Horst for making these videos!

+Whisky.com The barrel proof means it goes straight from the barrel into the bottle without watering it down to 90 proof. This leads to a higher alcohol content. I think it is overrated, as it is too strong to drink straight in my opinion, and lynchburg has VERY good spring water. I suppose it would be better for mixing, but I don't like the idea of mixing high quality liquor. So you would have to grab some quality water to go with it anyways if you want to drink it straight comfortably. /shrugs

In my opinion the regular single barrel is best. I like JD smooth. Yes the barrel strength as more flavour but also too much fire. Good whiskey but I’d prefer personally the regular single barrel.

im a jack daniel's collector and i have to say that even old no.7 i prefer to most whiskeys such as chivas, red lable, jim beam and other know brands. i still take the no7 over those

i just found this whisky in my grandparents cupboard hidden and says it was bottled in 2009, they gave it to me as a gift! Super excited to try it but also thinking i should maybe keep it? would it be worth anything.. since its bottled in 2009 ?

why wouldn't they just heat and humidify their warehouses so that every cask is a top select cask? with a downdraft system so the top is exactly like the bottom?

Mr Horst, I think that in the US , they allow coloring the whisky if it's sold outside the US.

MCSalamouny coloring is strictly forbidden. Unless it's called a Blended Bourbon than it has to have at least 51% straight bourbon included and can only use neutral spirits, the straight bourbon must be aged at least 4 yrs than colors can be added.

When you say there are slight glue notes,what exactly do you mean by that. Do you mean it has an actual taste of glue. I'm ultra new to the idea of tasting whisky, so I am trying to be clear on what that means.

I have to admit I have not tasted glue and I don't think I ever will. But if you smell glue (don't do this regularly) than you get an image of what it would taste like. This is what I mean by the taste of glue. If you do a tasting note yourself, then don't be afraid to use all the aromas you ever tasted or imaged. Experts use strange descriptions all the time.

Abraham Octopus they are both classified as bourbon and meets the requirements of that. The difference is all Tennessee Whiskey is required by Tennessee law to be a straight bourbon, having been aged 2 yrs or more. Other bourbons can be 6 months or more. To be called straight it must be 2 yrs old.

Jack Daniel's is not a bourbon - it's a Tennessee Whiskey. Jack Daniel's is dripped slowly - drop-by-drop - through ten feet of firmly packed charcoal (made from hard sugar maple) before going into new charred oak barrels for maturing.

Runescapeguides110 The alcohol burn is quite different from person to person. Also the burn becomes a bit less intense over the years. Here is a little exercise for you. Sip it. Exhale. Vary the length to how much you sip it.

I like his reviews but holy shit... does dude have a microphone on the inside of his mouth!? It borders on disgusting. Speaking of Frank Sinatra one of my favorite stories is that regular people thought he was cool but he always wanted to be cool and hang around with mobsters. Sam Giancana,, the boss in Chicago, held so much weight that he made Frank Sinatra take his daughter to the prom. There was also an incident in a Lake Tahoe Hotel involving the two men and one of those big cylinder ashtrays being thrown but I can't recall what happened exactly.. maybe Sinatra attacked the bellboy or something.
