I cut the outside stalks of celery and the center keeps on going. It will grow back from the complete harvest..leaving about an inch above ground. I just find the harvesting of outside stalks method seems to have a more readily available value. I make a cream of celery soup that freeze’s perfectly for “”fast food “” later on.

Last chance there's the sunny windowsill! One has to keep the house warm anyway.

I have celery growing up like crazy, and I've been harvesting using the "cut and come again" method, and it's coming back like crazy!

I’m so glad. I’ve been stuck in the hospital since homesteaders, had a bug bite that led to an infection that wrapped around my spine. Anyway a lot of my vertebrae were cut out and replaced with titanium. So I’m in rehab to fight the paralysis it caused. I’ll be back making new stuff hopefully in the next few months. Love your videos and the talks we had.

@@WhisperingWillowFarm Good Saturday morning Jill. Interestingly enough, fresh radishes from the garden happen to be one of my favorite items for a healthy salad. Thanks for sharing another video of your garden and have a great weekend. 🌼😊

I've seen farms harvest celery stalks just like Kale. Just harvest around the outside and the middle will keep growing.

I had to harvest all my fall green tomatoes in early December when we got an early freeze here in East Texas. I put them in a box in the garage...probably 20lbs and finally canned up the last batch today. I have beautiful carrots and beets growing, cabbage and beautiful cauliflower and LOTS of greens I share liberally with my 7 hens. I just started a bunch more cabbage to put out in January. I love gardening alllll year long!

Do you have a video or recipe for fermented radishes? I've tried twice and they smelled overwhelmingly like...flatulence...the whole kitchen. Is that normal?

🤣 radishes are a different process. I don't have a video explaining that process but it's in my fermentation course thewhisperingwillowfarm.com/products/the-art-science-of-fermentation-course

Jill I loved you but overwhelmed with your approach lately. Your about gardening somewhat however your more focused on selling lately vs growing. Go back to your roots vs being a salesperson. It's honestly turned me off lately sry to say.

I’ve been thinking about starting some lettuce in the window, since we can’t find any in stores, and what we can we have to sell organs for. Sadly, -35 to -60 Celsius even in a greenhouse is too cold for any decent large production 🥲
