I've met him once after spending the day in a cemetery. My son had said he couldn't sleep cause he felt like someone was watching him from the corner shadow of the bedroom (WHICH HES NEVER SAID BEFORE/ OR HERE AFTER) I stayed in his room while he fell asleep and then hours later when I went to bed I thought how weird that was that he said he was being watched. I didn't feel anything at the time. I had fallen asleep only to be woke up in the middle of the night. Now I did feel someone watching me, and I can see someone watching me. A tall BLACK SHADOW that was in solid form. I couldn’t make out any features aside from an old fashion top hat that was also a part of the black shadow. I couldn't move - I could only open my eyes though. I felt this electric fuzzy weighted blanket that had been laying on top of me, which was causing the paralysis. As I'm laying in my bed totally freaking out I keep telling myself "move, move anything!" after a few mins that felt like forever my arm swings down in this weird jerky motion. My hand landed in the space between my bed frame and mattress where I have this metal pole I keep for emergency's. My fingers hits it as my arm swung down. That caused it to make a clink sound. That high pitched sound broke the spell I felt like I was under. Then Hatman disappeared. Slowly the electric blanket feeling starts to alleviate and a few seconds after I had calmed down I bursted into tears in the middle of the darkness of my room. Confused at what just happened I got up and looked out my door and I saw NOTHING. I jumped back into my bed grabbed my cell phone and typed the above encounter so it was fresh in my mind. I also googled WTF just happened. And realized that lots of people had seen him too and that his name was in fact Hatman. I couldn't go back to sleep so That morning I stopped at my church and got holy water. I smoked my house out w sage, sprayed the holy water in the a sign of the cross everywhere. I said “ Hail Mary, and our father” as I walked my house. Although I haven't experienced hatman ever again, I can close my eyes and see / feel that experience like it just happened mins ago. It still feels so fresh in my mind. 🎩 🎩 🎩

@@kathleenmartin7498I’ve heard it said many times that those who are near death receive “visits” from the other side. I don’t know if they’re trying to prepare them for what’s coming to help or if maybe they’re already in a spiritual state where they’re closer to the other side than healthy people are, so they can naturally see things that most cannot. But I find it fascinating and I love to hear these stories.

I have seen The hat man. Sarasota FL at an Airbnb. Had to be 2018? I was sleep but soon had sleep paralysis. My ex was next to me sound asleep. I had a vision of fire and screaming people coming at me almost like they were trapped in a house fire but like I’m a shot gun hallway and when my eyes looked forward he was standing before my bed with the window behind him outlining him. H was tall, thin black three piece suit with a fedora and a face that was thin old and sunken in. He looked pisses. But just stood there staring at me. He reminded me ( if u have watch supernatural) the grim reaper on the episode with that weird cult and dean. I woke up while I was trying to scream for help but managed to move my Leg to touch my ex then I shot awake and gasped for air!!! We have that in Denmark. After a set amount of years the graveyard keepers will contact the family asking if they wish to keep the grave for another set of years. If there's no one left or if the remaining family does not wish to upkeep the grave it's erased creating room for someone else. Our graveyards aren't that big so it's done to keep having space.
@KoriEmerson7 ай бұрын
I seriously think it’s not a bad idea. If it’s culturally done you know this is coming. I don’t think it’s that big of a deal . ESPECIALLY in countries like Denmark, Norway and Sweden where dedicated land is at a premium.
@Sword_and_Crown7 ай бұрын
Same here in Germany. European countries are simply not big enough to keep every grave up. When I was a little child, I was so sad when my mom told me that we won’t go to the graveyard anymore , because the graves of my granny and auntie will not be there anymore. When my mother died, she wanted to be cremated . That wasn’t easy to take either. But in my opinion, you don’t need a grave to talk to someone you lost. They are with you , they live in your memory and your heart. ❤

I would just like to share that I went through a deep depression due to certain personal events in my life in 2009 and I was in my room so depressed that I slept for nearly 3 days, woke up, eyes open and paralyzed. Couldn't scream or move and in the corner of my room was a shadow man wearing a hat. It wasn't a top hat it was a bit shorter and I was just filled with fear. After what seemed like possibly 3 minutes of hell it lifted, I was able to move and the hat guy was gone.

I think we all have hurt ourselves and have been told to shake it off. When I was in my early teens I was swimming with my cousin, diving off a board that was connected to a cement dam. It was a deep pond that was made for swimming. Taking my turn I slipped on the board and fell on the dam breaking my arm. I was crying in so much pain. My cousin grabbed my arm shaking it , telling me theres nothing wrong and to stop crying the boys were watching. But I was smart enough to go to the hospital.

He was always either in a window or in our kitchen. I got validation one night when I hear my mom let out a scream and come to find out she had been seeing him too. I believe he's a demon or some dark spirit that is drawn to the vulnerable and fearful. I had such a strong a fear of death at this time in my life and was obsessed with it.

At approximately 30 minutes into their conversations, Katrina talks about how Graves are dug up, bones are placed elsewhere, and the graves are reused. This happens in graveyards of churches. The graves rest for approximately 100 years, and the bones are moved to a small building (I forget what they're called) the headstones are used to fence or pave walkways to and around the graveyards. This can be found around churches with graveyards in Scotland and Ireland and the UK. I learned this from a KZbin channel called "Castles History and Ruins" with Evelyn Edward's. Very informative and beautiful video graphics.

Walking home from school I was really young like kindergarten age. me and my brother were just finding cigarette butts and playing with them like we were smoking or whatever we didn't have my big sister with us that day or she already made it to the house to claim the TV. and I see the end of a huge cigar in this yard and im like oOOh look at this! but before I could even say anything bent down to pick it up my brother gasps* and says "ingame look!" I look up and it was like white body suit-esque featureless face (A eyes wide shut type mask maybe) it was very long ago - it were in like a puritan judge's outfit/ plague doctor adjacent/ Cloak-like all black besides perhaps a Ruff collar with this HUGE black brimmed hat largest i've ever seen. just staring at me in the doorway. I feel like maybe they had ruffles out the impossibly black sleeves as well. Glove clasped judgmental hands at center of its waist. I took off. My sister still lives in the house 2-3 houses down and that house has been moved in and out of for many many years pushing 3 decades now maybe. nobody being able to stay much longer than a year. For some reason it reminds me still to this day a lot of the energy that the Villain from Disney's hunchback of Notre Dame had for some reason. Religious inquisitor type energy. I learned many have seen him some years later. frankly glad it was just the one time for me I must have been 6 years old. .

I had two experiences with a hat man. I hadn't heard of such a phenomenon prior to seeing it then trying to work out whether I had dreamed it, or not. I sleep with a hallway light on, and had nightmare after nightmare, onto more nightmares and I woke up and sat up immediately. I still remember rubbing my eyes and realising there was a man sitting at the base of my bed. He couldn't have broken into my place, as it was a shed with only one bolted entry, so this was weird. I kept staring at the man and he was wearing a pinstripe suite with a small brimmed hat on. He was sitting strangely upright. He turned to look at me, and I just felt power, then I realised where his face would be, it was just black. I hid and screamed for it to get out. Somehow I went back to sleep. When I woke the next morning, I looked for my cat. She was usually very loving, and always slept on my bed, so it was weird I couldn't see her. She was curled up and hissing at me when I tried to get her out from under my bed. She even tried to claw me. It was never her personality. She even just sat there while a vet took her blood after being bitten by a snake, a few years after that, so for this change, so weird. I did see this mman a second time, but again told him to leave, and he was gone. I don't recall getting back to sleep on either time, as I felt terrified, but somehow, I did easily and didn't wake until the morning, even though I'm usually waking up every hour due to chronic pain. Anyway, I'd love to know more about this bloke.

We had a split level home. I was in bed for the night top floor and I saw this man at the foot of my bed post right side corner standing tall with a wide brimmed hat and long trench coat. I saw his hands which looked like long decreped(sp) fingers resting by his side. I read another post about a pocket watch which is triggering me but i cant really remember for sure. I didnt see the eyes, it was a semi side profile just slightly turned. I was terrified and completely paralyzed drenched in sweat. Closed my eyes praying for him to go away. I gathered up the courage to peek and he had left. I screamed for my mother. She called the police because of my reaction. Thought there was an intruder in the house. Who is this guy and what is his purpose? This has been bothering me lately. 40 some years later. Strange how I've forgotten/past it off all these years. Im really wanting other people's point of view as to what this could mean as I'm looking for an explanation. Why me? Now I find it's us. There's got to be a connection. I have not seen him since.

I'm so glad you touched on Katrina's experience on another paranormal show. I saw that episode. It made me so angry that Katrina was exploited that way. Whether she was cool with it or not, it should NEVER have even been thought about, let alone filmed. One could wonder if the idea was influenced by that entity... You guys haven't touched on the claims that some other shows in the genre were possibly shut down due to the influence of another paranormal show's main "personality". If it's true, it makes me sad because I really dislike their approach to paranormal investigations. If you're able to weigh in or provide insight, I'm interested in what you have to say. Thanks for the effort you put in to making these podcasts.

36:16 one thing I considered about this experiment was just because there was no reported haunting dosnt mean there is nothing there I mean there (at least in England) isn't a square inch of land that hasn't had someone die near it. And I'm willing to bet the same can be said for any city or town all over the world, so just because there wasn't a haunt dosnt mean there wasn't a spirt of some kind that may be so old it didnt remember who or what it was and the scientist basically brainwashed the poor thing into thinking it was the guy, there is also the option that it was something mischievous that was like ""yes I'm him, what do you want"" oh this is going to be fun I have people to play with.

So the hat, man, I have caught picture of him it was shortly after my grandma died. I didn’t see him with my own eyes, but I could feel it. I caught the picture in a mirror and he’s up on a shelf that was on my wall and he’s probably only about 4 inches tall, but everybody tries to say that you only see himwhen you’re having sleep paralysis, this was like 5 o’clock in the afternoon and I was awake. Just curious if anybody out there has seen him does he come in all sizes?

Ive had nightmares of the hat man since a child. Ive been trying to retain my soul or whatever he comes for every night. I truly dont know what he wants but i know he is no good. Ive heard its memories from my ancestors, being native american im sure we were raided at some point. The first thing you would wake up to would the shadow of the raiders casted over your tp.

Switzerland is one of the places I know of for sure that after 20 years will dig you up to reuse the burial site because they don't have enough land to just keep making graveyards.
