Really love this format. For some reason it really makes me feel like I'm riding there, especially for the first time.

4:36 - LOL tractor beam... I was riding DRC in the wet last summer and aired onto the rock roll leading up to that tree, bad idea, super greasy... ended up sliding out of control and was lucky that my front tire hit that tree square and stopped me from going over the edge! Love this trail, one of the best tech trails in the park IMO.

It's a little late to comment on this particular video, but I just found this series and I'm going through them all. Your format, style and laid back (but analytic) approach rocks. Like James said, this makes me feel a bit like I'm there checking out a trail for the first time too. Solid work!

thanks for another great vid. I haven't hit all the trails there. We tend to go back to the big ones we like. Your new vid format "a closer look" points out things to watch for on the trails. I can use as sneak peak for this summers trip.
@Whitesnake27 жыл бұрын
+Jim Butterfield glad to help. Its exactly what i am going for. Before i went to Whistler for the first time i would have been all over videos like these to prepare (at least have some idea of whats in store). The GoPro just doesnt do the features justice, but its better than nothing.
@mtbjim16707 жыл бұрын
On one hand I like that vids do not give justice for what is really there on the trails... I will just go for it. However when showing others my trail vids they say, "oh that's nice"....
@Whitesnake27 жыл бұрын

These closer looks are the best. Just cant see whats going on or what to do on most trail ride videos. I've been looking for another way down when I get to the end of afternoon delight, as sometimes I'm just not feeling the gnar of LW downhill, and from this it looks like I should be able to manage that last rock on Rock City. Thanks for making these !

Thanks for that! I learned a tonne making this video, both about the actual production of videos and about the trail. Its amazing how much you can pick up just rewatching trail clips!

Whitesnake2 haha that's awesome! I've been lucky enough to go to Whistler 4 times now (I'm from Calgary) and out of all those trips I haven't hit too many double blacks as I didn't know what to expect but now I have a much better idea thanks to you!
@Whitesnake27 жыл бұрын
my pleasure! Hopefully these videos help give you the confidence to get in there and have a look in real life. Bottom line is that most of the gnar features have some sort of ride around generally speaking. That said the ride around may not be the easiest out there on the double blacks. Worst case you can always just hike a bit in the woods to get around things if they prove to daunting. I know I certainly have done that before and certainly will again!
@Colesurfs036 жыл бұрын
I made a wrong turn and ended up halfway down the rock city roll far over to the left and I just went well fuck and commited and dropped the little thingy it was one of the more confidence inspiring experiences of that season.

hey man, I got a quick question if you can answer it and that would be wonderful! Alright so im planning a whistler trip this summer and trying to figure out the dates. but racing this summer for me this summer is very very busy and it is making things very hard to get thing scheduled up. i was just wondering if at whistler does is get super busy during Canada day in the park? knowing it should fall on the Sunday but with weird laws or something it is being forced to fall on a Monday. trying to get their on a Saturday and leave the next Saturday the next week. the goal of this is to ride the park Monday-Friday without the crazy amount of people in the lift lines.... learned that from last year :). Thanks,
@Whitesnake27 жыл бұрын
+MrMreasygoing Canada day is a holiday up here so id suspect the number of visitors would be quite high, but i wouldnt not come because of that. Can ride in Creekside - Ive never waited in a line over there.
@MrMreasygoing7 жыл бұрын
Whitesnake2 yeah, I’m gonna actually stay in Creekside cause they don’t have lift lines but once you get down to the main village then lines can get long. Thanks for the reply!

Hi , you have done the ladder drop or the chute roll in or not ?
@Whitesnake27 жыл бұрын
I don't have any footage of it unfortunately. I think I only rode that section 1x this year. I definitely prefer the 'Alternate Entrance' to the goods for the more flowy flavour it offers.
@mc-diesdas66517 жыл бұрын
What a bummer , maybe next time , but it look really fucking tricky deep , current i think i cant both descent .
@Whitesnake27 жыл бұрын
+mc73 big time bummer. I didnt think of making these sort of videos til after the summer so I'm limited only to the footage I have from the summer. In 2018 I'm hoping to take a new approach taking up the video and by getting more shots! Live and learn I guess. thabks for your support!
