Grabbing some nice air. Looks smooth...kind of a 'just go with it' and it will happen kind of jumps.

You have to try the bigger gap in dirt merchant it's such a fun jump
@Whitesnake28 жыл бұрын
The one at the end right? Next summer I hope to hit it! I didn't have enough time to get the confidence up on my trip there this past summer unfortunately. Soon though...
@Victor_Chav8 жыл бұрын
Don't even worry about it man, I was scared to shit when my friends told me to hit it. You just gotta follow your friends into it and let the bike do it thing, Maybe I'll see ya opening day!
@Whitesnake28 жыл бұрын
Part of me thinks I was ready for it at that time, but another part of me wanted to play it safe as it was the last day of riding for me in the summer. Any tips? A couple pedal strokes into it and boost as hard as possible, or does it it send you pretty well assuming you have the speed?
@Victor_Chav8 жыл бұрын
after the second jump two pedal will guarantee a clear. The lip is perfect it wont send you too high so go as you would normally do a jump. the smaller gap lip is actually sketchier than the other haha
@Whitesnake28 жыл бұрын
LoL! I hear you man, I always thought the smaller one was a bit sketch! After taking a look at the bigger wider gap I remember thinking this is a much nicer lip in every way vs the smaller one. Can't wait to get back in the slot and conquer this feature! Appreciate the tip!

This is one of those "felt like I was there videos", great stuff man, keep it up! Love the fact you leave in the stuff you get scared by and then get or not, exactly how I felt when I went to whistler.
@Whitesnake28 жыл бұрын
+BlindstuffMTB I hear you man. I look at this videos as a time stamp so to speak on my development as a rider. No one starts out an expert and its great to be able to see the progress through these videos. As such theres no shame in missing features. Always something to learn and that is what I love about mtb. Always a challenge to be had at any skill level.

hey man you did good keeping up at the jump section, They were going soo fast

Cheers bro! My improvement this summer riding these trails is definitely visible in all these later summer edits (vs the earlier videos). Basically learned how to keep the flow and keep up. Only wish I'd had more time to improve more! Can't wait for this summer!

I use a tiny bit of the 'Warp stabilizer' effect in Adobe Premiere Pro.

Whitesnake2 oh, just that?? it looks very like an gimbal. I bought today the session 5 GO Pro , and cant wait to test the stabilization. But all german Parks are closed for Winter!

I hab the session 4 befor, nice cam too but no own stabi, and no 4k, and no voice control. But the VC only works for me in selected US English. German is to difficult for go pro, hahhahaha, all that accents...

What's the trick with that DRC ladder into the rock garden? Bit of speed? Looks super intimidating.
@Whitesnake28 жыл бұрын
From what Candace and others have told me it is very similar to the that section on Schleyer right after the small ladder bridge (01:21 on this video -> kzbin.info/www/bejne/i4XTZnxop9iWbZo ). The only difference is that on DRC you are dropping onto a rock slab which immediately turns into a gnarly rocky chute to the bottom and has a decent sized drop off on the right. So there really is no room for error on DRC whereas on Schleyer you can fumble your way through if you get in trouble. I guess in the end its all about just committing to that drop to the rock slab. I'll let you know once I've successfully navigated it!
@hobmarg8 жыл бұрын
Ahh ok, that part of Schleyer is no problem for me but DRC looks way more exposed/committed. When you said you had visions of your kid then you know it's serious and smart to save it for another day! The mental aspect of MTB is so important. I've never ridden DRC from the top, only take the side entrance from Lower Whistler DH, is that ladder bridge drop/rock chute the only additional feature from the top entrance? Keep up the excellent videos. Here I am having skied waist deep powder at Whistler this past weekend and already thinking about the bike park. We are truly spoiler in the PNW!!!!
@Whitesnake28 жыл бұрын
+hobmarg yeah the exposure is way more extreme on DRC. So aside from that big sweet rock roll into the mini trail gap/drop there is a fun rock roll at the end of DRC that leads you back into the woods before rejoining with lower joyride (I believe). Such a great trail tbh. Just gotta figure out that chute! BEEN following all the snow! I'm coming in for a quick gettaway soon to enjoy! HOPE it keeps up!

Just have a question about your demo 8. When you hit big drops or jumps and land does your back tire smack the back of your seat. My buddy has a demo eight and his does that. So is it just his or does yours does that to?
@Whitesnake28 жыл бұрын
+NitrousOxideStudios yes that has happened to me once or twice, but less so these days i'd say.

i need some help i was thinking of getting the tues al bike from yt but then i looked at the canyon sender and im not sure what to get the yt has a aluminum frame with rock shocks and sram shifters but the canyon is a little more expinsive but its a carbon frame with fox 40 and shimano
@Whitesnake28 жыл бұрын
+Esteban Jaurrieta cant lose with either Id say! But I prefer carbon over aluminum tbh. Lighter, stronger, damper!

Top section of Detroit rock city isn't that bad once you have done it a few times, just have to watch out for the tree on the left if you are hitting the ladder!
@Whitesnake28 жыл бұрын
When i was looking at it, I thought of many other places on the mountain that have the same type of drop in the same size just no sudden fall away of the trail directly past the landing zone (i.e. the drop from the rock into the gnar after the big rock/roll section on Schleyer right before the drop that's right under the lift). Regardless I still couldn't muster the gumption to give it a proper go. This summer. This summer...
