Aww bless him.....it is a bit. Whilst I was recording one of them came close to the camera and scared me enough for me to let a little scream out ( you can see and hear it on the video) 🤣🤣 x

Hi, glad you enjoyed it. Its usually the first full weekend in December, so in 2024 it's on 7th & 8th as the 1st is on a Sunday. It start at the bandstand at 3.30ish and they walk up Khyber Pass to finish at the Captain Cook monument. They are usually walking around the town from 12 noon for photos etc. There's a stall to buy merchandise from to support a chosen charity at the bandstand. Theres also a ticket only event at night if you wanted to go to that. Its amazing to see live, but wrap up warm! 😊 there's a link to the Krampus Run site on Facebook so you can keep an eye on the events and look at more photos etc.... linktr.ee/whitbykrampusrun?ltsid=1f204a05-7c4e-49dc-963e-404c2e87e9a0

Вот к чему пришла Европа, в частности Англия. Бог поругаем не бывает, что человек сеет - то он и будет пожинать.

It has nothing to do with God, its an Alpine folklore.

Krampus the Christmas Devil?
@lykewakewitch902611 ай бұрын
No, it's an Alpine folk tale who allegedly punishes naughty children at Christmas as Father Christmas rewards well behaved children 😊
@julianoname479311 ай бұрын
Nope! Saint Nicholas Day is NOT the same as Christmas. Krampus never show up after the 6th of December, so a Father Christmas figure does absolutely nothing while they're out. Not just allegedly btw.

@@julianoname4793 Thanks for the info. Maybe you could put a video up with all the correct information.

What on earth... As someone who grew up with this tradition I feel second hand embarrassment watching this.
@jackncheese464711 ай бұрын
The event is in conjuction with the charity "Whitby Disability Action Group" - a large number of the participants benefit from the work they do.... If you watch closely there are carers and people of varied abilities putting themselves out there to make the event work and taking part in the parade itself.... Maybe instead of criticising people with disabilities you might like to watch the recording again with new eyes and use your keyboard to donate to their charity which helps isolated people with a wide range of challenges....
@julianoname479311 ай бұрын
@@jackncheese4647 I neither mentioned nor was I criticizing the charity part of this event or disabled people at all, that's actually really nice and if I had any money to spare I'd probably donate. The issue is witnessing the constant butchering of that tradition and in a way that is doing more harm than good. It's pretty much being turned into american Halloween meets american Christmas meets Comic/Anime Con.
@lykewakewitch902611 ай бұрын
I am sharing it as an event that's happening in my local town. I understand your point of view as I've seen it with the Goth weekend, I assure you we are in England not America and celebrate many traditions over here. My video is not to cause offence, just to share events I have seen in my home town.

Why? It’s nothing to do with Whitney.
@lykewakewitch902611 ай бұрын
It was an event that happens in Whitby and many other places. Why not Whitby?
@jackncheese464711 ай бұрын
@ubergeraldine - Why are you asking a random KZbin Channel this.... Why not ask the event organisers through their Facebook page...?
